Tbh the best part about this is because this is the Harry we all really wanted to see…

We didn’t want the Harry who grew up to have 2.5 kids with his 1.5 wife and his 2.5 friends etc etc.

Because we’ve mostly realised that there’s alternatives to that.

That it’s okay to move in to a flat (or your godfather’s place) with your two friends and it’s okay not to know what to do “with your entire life”

because at least your there, surviving after a huge war* threatened to tear everything you loved apart, at least you and your friends are there.

We didn’t entirely want to see Harry 19 years later being perfectly okay and seeing his kid off to Hogwarts, no matter how fun and good and happy for him we are, we can’t help but feel sad because that character we related to is suddenly hard to relate to.

Because for many of us we won’t have kids, either for personal choice, or mental health, or money issues.

For a lot of us we aren’t currently in this okay place where we settle down and stop fighting danger.

And…

When you’re still learning how to cast a patronus and battling your own dementors and destroying everyday horcruxes…

It hurts to know The Chosen One won’t be there to help you.

So yeah, I much prefer this, where he and Ginny and Hermione and Ron (and maybe Neville and Luna) move in and do DIY things together while Hermione and Harry being some of the Muggle world to their little home and they battle everyday things that are no less terrifying than their school days.
