to be honest, i feel like a lot of readers who have read caraval/ouabh kinda lack reading comprehension skills I’M SORRY but why do i keep seeing the same questions asked over and over again when the answers are all in the books, you just have to look for it!! like the whole apple thing is still talked about when it’s so obvious jacks eats apples to helps with his urges. the question of why evangeline didn’t die when she kissed jacks is also revealed throughout the series?? it’s because they both love each other so much that their true love broke the curse. don’t even get me started on the mirth stone ordeal because we still have people who don’t understand what happened in the hollow…like it even says in the book that the mirth stone only takes away fear so everything that eva and jacks were feeling for each other was real and eva even said that jacks shuttered all his emotions after he literally licked her lips (this scene was crazy) like he did in the hollow…it’s simply not hard to understand everyone!! people who still think that jacks ever loved tella 😭 like they must have such a naive understanding of love or something because what? also it’s explicitly stated in both tbona and acftl that he did not love tella LMAOO it’s so funny how tellajacks shippers lost so bad in acftl because they keep saying that the whole curse plot twist was poor writing like wdym?? i thought it was so genius of stephanie because the entire ouabh revolved around the fact that the story curse alters every story so the plot twist not only made 100% sense but it also showed that this was something stephanie had set up to happen since she started writing ouabh!!! i can’t believe none of us even came up with the theory that the story curse altered jacks’s curse because it was literally alluded to/foreshadowed in the first ouabh book by eva 😭😭

i absolutely agree, and i am often surprised by the lack of interpretation of a large part of readers today. i feel like they skip the parts that don't interest them or read them unwillingly, because it's not possible for there to be so many errors when it comes to interpretation.

it's a basic question of: it's in the book, just read it.

one of my theories since before acftl was that the story had been altered, as it was said within the narrative several times that, over time, the true meaning of the stories was lost. i didn't understand people's surprise when they discovered that, in fact, jack's curse had been lost in time. i will never understand this phenomenon.

Just a pretty little sports anime, good music and lovable characters, we all know we’re being queerbaited but hey, it’s nothing new. We’re used to it. My expectations are extremely tempered. Any minute now a female love interest will appear for Yuuri or Victor or both, and the whole thing will probably end with like, an emotional declaration of friendship between them. Just two guys being dudes, very good friends. It’s fine. I know how this works. I’m just having fun in the meantime.

For years I asked, pleaded for a chance to own my work. Instead I was given an opportunity to sign back up to Big Machine Records and ‘earn’ one album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in. I walked away because I knew once I signed that contract, Scott Borchetta would sell the label, thereby selling me and my future. I had to make the excruciating choice to leave behind my past. Music I wrote on my bedroom floor and videos I dreamed up and paid for from the money I earned playing in bars, then clubs, then arenas, then stadiums. 

Some fun facts about today’s news: I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years. 

Like when Kim Kardashian orchestrated an illegally recorded snippet of a phone call to be leaked and then Scooter got his two clients together to bully me online about it. (See photo) Or when his client, Kanye West, organized a revenge porn music video which strips my body naked. Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.

This is my worst case scenario. This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term ‘loyalty’ is clearly just a contractual concept. And when that man says ‘Music has value’, he means its value is beholden to men who had no part in creating it. 

When I left my masters in Scott’s hands, I made peace with the fact that eventually he would sell them. Never in my worst nightmares did I imagine the buyer would be Scooter. Any time Scott Borchetta has heard the words ‘Scooter Braun’ escape my lips, it was when I was either crying or trying not to. He knew what he was doing; they both did. Controlling a woman who didn’t want to be associated with them. In perpetuity. That means forever. 

Thankfully, I am now signed to a label that believes I should own anything I create. Thankfully, I left my past in Scott’s hands and not my future. And hopefully, young artists or kids with musical dreams will read this and learn about how to better protect themselves in a negotiation. You deserve to own the art you make.

I will always be proud of my past work. But for a healthier option, Lover will be out August 23.
