Um radioapple nation I think I'm stretching a bit here but I was curious to know what "and I'm hot to leave him bleeding" means so I googled it & google gave me lyrics to the song Tough Love by Gracie Abrams. I just looked at the lyrics, and it's a little on the nose. 👀
Specific line referenced;
"And I hate to leave him bleedin'
But I know now what I'm leavin' for"
I took a train to Boston and I wanted to cry
He's gone, I'm twenty-four and it's a Saturday night
I ran and took his jacket with the rip in the side
I hate when we fight, sucks when we fight
But, honestly, whatever, he's just one of the boys
I'll date for like a summer and I'll leave when I'm bored
This train is full of strangers but I might like 'em more
Said I might like 'em more, yeah, no, I like 'em more
And that's just tough love
But I mean it, really mean it
I laughed the second he tried to call my bluff
I guess it's always funny until it's not
When I left him there to feel it
Couldn't guess what I'd be leavin' for
No chance I waste my twenties on random men
Not one of them is cooler than all my friends
And I hate to leave him bleedin'
But I know now what I'm leavin' for
I'm walkin' by the river and I stop by the boats
At night it's kind of tempting just to see if you'd float
The benches by the Charles gave me somewhere to go
I feel like I'm home, there's a bar down the road
I'm wasted with the sister of a boy that I met
Through someone back in college, she's a weird intellect
She liked to tell the truth and she was harsh but direct
Her boyfriends all left, she had that effect
But that's just tough love
And you're lucky to receive it, right?
I laughed the second he tried to call my bluff
I guess it's always funny until it's not
When I left him there in pieces
Couldn't guess what I'd be leavin' for
No chance I waste my twenties on random men
Not one of them is smarter than all my friends
And I hate to leave him bleedin'
But I know now what I'm leavin' for
Oh, I know now what I'm leavin' for
Oh, I know now what I'm leavin'
No, I'm not gonna miss the way he'd kick me in my bed while sleepin'
And I'm not gonna miss his shitty friends and nights of their binge drinking
And I'm not gonna miss his old inflated ego, shallow thinking
And I'm not gonna miss denying that I got my own damn reasons
I laughed the second he tried to call my bluff
I guess it's always funny until it's not
When I left him there to feel it
Couldn't guess what I'd be leavin' for
No chance I waste my twenties on random men
Not one of them is tougher than all my friends
And I hate to leave him bleedin'
But I know now what I'm leavin' for
My radioapple rotted ass brain's theory;
Ok so look at how the song fucking starts;
"I took a train to Boston and I wanted to cry
He's gone, I'm twenty-four and it's a Saturday night
I ran and took his jacket with the rip in the side
I hate when we fight, sucks when we fight"
Fucking what. Fucking "took his jacket with a rip in the side" ok so wow who else has a jacket we know that has rips in the sides and all around the back? 👀
"And that's just tough love
But I mean it, really mean it
makes me think of a direct reference to this video with the description of Alastor "and a grin who could charm the devil himself."
Link below for quote, timestamp is 1:04
If this is about Lucifer (the drink open season has apple brandy in it) then I'm wondering if it's almost like a rebound thing... Like he thinks initially his attraction to Alastor is bc he's hurting over Lilith divorcing him. And then he realises that it's actually more than that & he's falling in love with Alastor.
I've listened to the song and I gotta say it sounds kinda desperate, like they're leaving but they don't want to, and they know they should probably move on but they just want to go back.
It also makes sense cus of the whole "divorced dad's" thing from the hot topic gothic emo radioapple shirt before they were forced to change the description from the stupid haters.
But like, just imagine this for a sec;
Radioapple marriage theory and/or executioner Alastor theory (cus, let's be real I am a big enthusiast for both & I think both could easily happen simultaneously) Alastor would end up wanting Lucifer to be just as bloodthirsty and evil as he is, because that's how he's coped with life and his after life, he thinks power is the answer to his problems basically. I wrote a long ass theory about Alastor in another post. Anyways, Lucifer would eventually realise this m, after falling down the rabbit hole with Alastor. They would be so so toxic for each other but they would also be all they both have bc they would eventually drive everyone away. Lucifer would be the first to see clarity and be like nooo... This isn't right. This isn't what I want. And he would actually be able to see through Alastor bc they are so similar and Alastor would hate that and eventually hurt him bad and break his heart and yes I will cry. Lucifer will leave, Alastor will realise he's fallen victim to his own scheme, to get the devil to fall for him only to now have fallen for the devil himself. They run back to each other & kiss in the scream rain sloppy style. That's a very brief idea of what has been cooking in my rotted ass brain anyways lol.
but yeah overall, I'm just curious. It's very on the nose. The rip in the jacket line feels a little too accurate if you ask me. This song is not on either of their official playlists on Spotify though so this could all just be a big fuck off stretch but anyways~
