so. yeah. Neuvi can change his form (big surprise!). And Wrio? Nobody, not a single one of his courses teached him how to deal with it. Archons, it never even implied that dragons can do that!.. So he freaks out (understandable).

His dragon at least ready to provide some answers for how and why’s….well, when Wrio is chill, that is.

…and Neuvi laughs, and tells him, that he is no Dragon King, but he is, in fact, reincarnation of The Hydro Sovereign - one of Original Elemental Dragons, powerful mystical creature. His previous version was killed by humans, so it’s dangerous for him to roam around. He tried to hide, but humans everywhere now, so he decided to mask himself as one of their dragons and try to recover his powers.

They decide that Neuvi will live with Wrio for now - as long as he won’t cause any troubles, that is.

Dragon Rider AU!!!!

CW for “Fourth Wing” series spoilers ig??? I was loosely inspired by it through KrimsonRogue’s review of the second book (it’s really good btw u should watch it) and I think that it’s only fair for me to mention it here

“Murder college” in this AU takes in many orphans, makes them go through different classes and learn how to fight and survive, how to kill effectively and to keep secrets, first of all. The lucky ones will get a dragon at their third year and then they will continue their education. The one who don’t get a dragon go to the normal squads…if they survive ofc. Bc the way to find a dragon is simple - they get thrown in the wood with several different dragons. If one of them is friendly to the student — congrats, that’s now ur dragon, have fun!!

So, all things considered… Wriothesley is not too sad when he is chosen by a little Hydro dragon. At least this thing couldn’t create problems for him, right? Right?..

Another important thing is that dragons here don’t have telepathy with riders or each other and they can’t really communicate to humans properly but they do have their own language and they are intelligent creatures!! They also have different elements, but I’ve just stolen Genshin’s system so no surprises here lol

Was Wriothesley’s supervisor happy about it? Of course not. But they couldn’t do anything, bc you can’t find another dragon if your previous one is still alive. And even if the thing was dead there still would be a chance that Wrio wouldn’t be chosen again. So they just had to live with it really

And that’s how Wrio started his third year — with a bright new cat-sized dragon in his hands, strange glances from peers and round eyes of all teachers.

Silly little thing

can it be an AU where Hydro dragon lives in Fontaine waters and scares sea-wolves shitless?? Maybe. And Wrio decides to do smth about it, as he still rules Fortress, which is very dependent on trades and overall affairs with Overworld and, well. Sayings like “no we won’t go Hydro dragon will eat us today” is not smth he appreciates. So he goes out of his way to find this so-called dragon: and he is really surprised, when it is in fact a dragon. A really lonely dragon who have only endless water and melusines to keep him company and who’s nervous about people (they’ve tried to harm him sometimes and they are strange so he’s usually avoiding them). And Wrio, who’s plan was smth along the lines with “kill the thing if it’s real” feels bad so he goes to talk to him and they agree that Neuvi will be more careful with his routine and Wrio will show him human world.

and then they go out. yes.

Neuvi tries his best to show his affection, and, well. It can be a bit tricky sometimes :DD

I also adore the thought that he sometimes uses constructions, terms and general wording similar to his work ones without really realizing it and Wrio goes like “???what does that mean”, ‘till he figures it out or asks Neuvi to clarify xd

I just think that foster parents wouldn’t want to “waste” resources on kids who they are planning to sell; these kids are not for contacts with society, they will never become part of it — some will never grow up even, so why bother?

The teacher was there just for “normality”. Like yeah we have house full of kids, who never go anywhere — but that’s just cause they don’t need to! Look, they have everything they need right there!!

Ofc teacher did gave them lessons, but it was something fairly simple; maybe like secondary school or smth. Just for children to feel safe. Just to avoid unnecessary confusion or rumors

and prison? Not the best of places for education, for sure, especially with it’s previous administration. So. Yeah.

+Bonus: Wriothesley’s handwriting was incredibly shitty, especially when he just started as Administrator, and Neuvi had to practically decipher his reports
