You know what? I got another Exile au idea. Only it's mildly less angsty than my last one, because Furina!MC never gets the chance to be properly exiled.
Why? Simple. The Melusines.
Sedene was the first to hear of the plan, then she told the other Melusines, who some in turn rushed to Merusa Village to tell the news, while a few rushed to tell Sigewinne and the Melusines stationed at the Fortress.
Sedene, on the other hand, rushes to Furina!MC's room to get her because she and her sisters were getting their mama out of Fontaine!
Basically, the Melusines stage a great escape.
And poor, poor Furina!MC. She would be so confused as to why Sedene comes rushing into her room, urging her to pack her things.
Of course she would try to ask, but the look in the Melusines' eyes...
So, she packs a few light bags and lets the tense Melusine lead her through the Palais, around any humans, and out the back where more Melusines met up with them.
Furina!MC was growing more stressed and confused. What was happening. Why were her daughters acting like this? And where was Neuvillette? He... he hadn't visited her once since she woke after the prophecy...
She... She did get a note. She knew it was from him since she recognized his handwriting, but all it said was her to stay in her room for the time being. It was written oddly... Cold.
No affection. No usual pet names...
And it's only as the group snuck through the Court, around large crowds of Fontainians did Furina!MC start to understand the true danger she was in.
They... they were all talking about her. About how the Iudex- her Neuvillette, her husband- had announced that later tomorrow she would be exiled.
She nearly fell to her knees then. That... this never happened to Canon Furina in Canon Genshin!
"Mama, please, we have to move-"
Sedene, and the other Melusines urge her gently but nervously.Oh... her daughters... the Melusines... they were trying to save her. They were going against Neuvillette, the one they considered the perfect father figure-
Eventually the group makes it out the city where they meet up with the Sigewinne and the Melusines that had been stationed at the Fortress, and the Melusines from Merusa Village.
They all had bags. They all looked sad and grim, some even crying... but there was determination in their eyes. They wouldn't let their mama get hurt. Not by Fontaine. And not even by their fath- no... not even by Neuvillette.
A storm kicks up then. It was a violent one. Neuvillette must be angry. He must've noticed Furina!MC escaped-
The storm suddenly grew even more violent. Lightning flash, thunder rolled and rumbled, the rain falling harder-
Ah, he must've also finally noticed by now that every single Melusine within the Court of Fontaine AND in the Fortress of Meropide was also missing
Add in that he must know that they were the ones who broke Furina!MC out, as the Melusines that once worked in the Court all left their hats, badges, anything that shown they once worked in Fontaine-
With that, the now broken, but determined family sinks into the water and swims away from the place that they once called home...
Now... The question is... where do they go from there?
Sumeru was a big no because of the desert, and the Melusines probably wouldn't be able to handle the heat without getting sick or worse. Snezhnaya was also off the list because of the Fatui... And it was much too cold! Natlan was beautiful but it was too volatile with its wars and the issues with the Abyss.
So where to viewers? Vast and beautiful Liyue? Free and kind Mondstadt? Or Isolated and eternal Inazuma?
And what of Fontaine's reactions? There will be consequences, no doubt...
