Alim Smith’s amazing “Black Meme History Month” paintings.
THIS. IS ART. THISISFUCKINGART
THIS IS WHAT THIS DECADE SHOULD BE KNOWN FOR THESE PAINTINGS

if you dont believe in aliens youre fucking stupid
i dont give a damn about roswell or area 51 or whatever the fuck. thats not what i mean. the universe is infinitely large and weve already found living bacteria and stuff on comets. space has some crazy shit. it rains glass on venus and there’s a planet made of solid diamond. jupiter’s great red spot is a billion year old hurricane and like ten million earths could fit inside the sun. who gives a fuck if they arent little green men from mars. aliens exist and if you dont think so youre clowning hard my man

this literally makes me so happy
Y’all know when Mulan is sitting in the rain and watches her parents silhouette disappear as the candle is blown out and then her eyes squint in determination and the music that starts to play and you see her go into the family temple and light a match and bow in respect and then sneak into her parents room and switch the scroll for her hair brooch and then the way her reflection is shown as she pulls the sword and cuts her hair?? It’s literally more iconic than any marvel movie
my mom has finally understood the concept of how to use “tea” as slang, but only kind of. she came into my room and said “jessie, i have tea today” and i was obviously like what happened but as it turns out she just thinks tea means information so she told me that she got avocadoes on sale. that was the tea.
damn this tea scalded me
I’ve heard countless men say about a woman they’re seeing “I really like dating her, but she’s not wife material.” Many men do have a checklist and approach marriage like they’re hiring someone for a lifetime position within their household. It’s important to talk about this
My friends are so talented and amazing and honestly I'm so surprised and grateful that they chose to be friends with me
“I wish you were here,” he said with his dying breath. “I didn’t even get the chance to say I love you.”
He tried so hard to keep his eyes open, but he no longer had the strength to keep up such a simple task. The tears left his eyes as they slowly closed on him. Before his heart stopped beating, he mumbled his last words with anger.
“I hate this world.”
“‘I love you’ he says as he pushes me against the wall. And I swear there’s a lightning storm beneath my skin that rages against the thunder pulsing through my blood. He kisses me, his hands brushing the hair away from my face, taking away every last shred of my dignity along with it. And I wonder if he can feel the ground shaking underneath my feet as he finds his way across new found territories and discovering long forgotten lands. I can taste galaxies embedded on his tongue and I’m colliding and hurdling through his space. His breath tickles my neck as he traces ‘I love you’ across a world inhabited by only him and he pulls me closer managing to lose me in his ocean. ‘I love you’ I say, his eyes going from caramel to deep chocolate. He is silent now, watching my breath come out in short gasps, his fingers leaving trails of fire on my skin and I’m burning. Oh my god I’m burning.”

“He wasn’t light. And I was afraid to pull him into my darkness. I didn’t want him to meet the skeletons in the closet. Or the ghosts that haunt my backyard. It wasn’t fair of me. To draw him out so easily. To pull him closer to an edge of no easy return. He wasn’t light. But his hands were still warm and his smile was still bright. I wavered. For a moment the ghosts weren’t rattling my rib cage and the skeletons weren’t banging at my chest. Is this what it’s like? I wondered. As I stared. Terrified. Watching my ghouls tear into his skin. And the witches fight over his heart. He wasn’t light but I was drawn to him. Like a moth to a single beautiful flame. It was a battle I had already lost long before I tasted his name. He wasn’t light. But for tonight the closets are silent. And the wails of spirits past aren’t chanting my name. For tonight, in my darkness, I’m not alone.”
— It’s not the monsters you should be afraid of. -gaa
“It didn’t make sense, but I swear I could see our futures together when I looked up at the stars. But I live in the city and the only stars that could shine were on empty coffee cups that clogged the gutters after a rain storm.”
— Stars in the night sky are dead anyway. -gaa
