Do you think, when Kris and Noelle drowned, there was a moment they crossed the barrier, and they ducked their head underwater, because they couldn't breathe anyways. Imagine Kris, instinctively pulling their head up for air, realizing the air has become unbreatheable as well. At least you can feel the pain when the water enters your lungs.

there is something to be said about "malice" or the desire to do evil within snowgrave that... doesn't actually apply at all. It's just desperate. Seeing where everyone is headed and wanting to jump off, needing someone to tell you what you already know.

If you can't escape being a tragedy then the only choice you have left is to be a tragedy on your own terms.

That's all this is. Toby plans ahead. Toby knows what a player's instincts are. Toby knows... toby knows that some people will never be satisfied with living in an endless tragedy that keeps repeating, just like how in undertale toby knew people would want to do a true reset and experience the game again. Experience the game... differently.

Snowgrave? The weird route? It's desperation. It's despair like a heavy blanket that wraps around you and makes you feel like you could finally be at peace, like you can finally lie down in a way that's comfortable. If there is such a thing as true ending to deltarune, this will be it. A finale.
