I have a PSA that I feel needs to be addressed. One admin and members of darkdimensionrp harassed a player of a group that they were in and asked them to join theirs. Though they do not believe they were harassing her, the player felt uncomfortable and pressured. They said that they were inviting her because she was an old friend of one of theirs, though had that been true, all three of them would not have needed to message her, as the old friend has said that the other two were part of it. Though it was explained that they simply wanted to get their friend to their roleplay, it was against the rules of the roleplay they were in to promote others, as they had a problem with it in the past. When asked to leave the group, they began sending the player messages. One of them said to the player, and I quote, “LOL did you tell the admins of this group that I was promoting another roleplay to you? Because that’s infact a lie and I have our conversation to prove that I did invite you but merely mentioned it as I was told you were a good friend of the NAME REMOVED from years ago.” A player who had since left the roleplay sent this. They left due to receiving anonymous hate. Though they never directly brought it to the admins nor did they turn off their anonymous feature, as suggested when receiving hate. “Fuck you for what you did to both my friends. They have been nothing but a positive addition to the other group and the only ones that begged me to stay when I was being bullied by numerous anons. At this point, I suspect that you were one of the ones that bullied me out of the group since you seemed to pick each one of us off like flies. I also suspect that you’re an admin of what seems to be the most disrespectful group I have ever joined.” The third, and final person who sent messages to the main, asked about the three strike rule that the roleplay had instated, though in the rules it does say that this CAN be overridden if all admins agree that it would be beneficial to remove the player. If you would like to check, this roleplay is differentliferp and it is under the rule labeled STRIKES. We also do have screenshots of all conversations between the main and players and the other groups members and the member who felt pressured, if you would like to see them as proof, we will allow it. Remember though, the player who felt harassed URL will be blacked out.
This was darkdimensionrp’s side “All I know is, she said we were being pushy about inviting her when in reality, she hadn't directly said "no I'm not interested" so one can only assume otherwise/ I knew her 3 years ago on indie, and so I was trying to offer some additional ideas or options for her to join Bc I had no idea she wanted me to stop asking her about it. How can I know when she doesn't say so? So, out of nowhere like a week later she reports me to the admins and I get a boot but I literally hadn't even spoken to her for a week and had no idea she was so upset over my inviting her. I just don't understand what happened Bc she won't even tell me? I believe in resolving things and it could have been so simple as we're all mature adults here. Or so I thought. So idk I just feel this is all too juvenile and I don't get how I'm antagonized when I never meant any harm or knew that she needed me to cater to her insecurities and/or anxiety. That's what it seems to be. It just sucks because the rp community is slowly becoming toxic now because of this girl blowing things out of proportion. I'm too old for this, and I'm sorry I ever even said a word to her. We all have a different way or perceiving and dealing with things.”
I would like to offer my opinion on their side as well, while I am speaking with them now and they seem lovely, the way them messaged the other roleplayer after her contacting the admins is still unacceptable. I’m sure this was a large misunderstanding. The admins of differentliferp felt attacked and as though their members were uncomfortable and reacted how any admins would. It was an understandable reaction to remove those who were harassing another. Though, on the flip side, darkdimensionrp’s members were probably hurt that they were kicked out of the roleplay. I still do not think it is an excuse to say rude things to another, though they seem to have simply wanted her in the roleplay to begin with. They have also stated that they will be apologizing to the admins and members that they’ve hurt. Now, we believe that there will be no bad blood and all is well.
