Hello! Most of you probably know us as Homestuck AskBlog artists! Well we look out for our own and our buddy Darrty is in a dilly of a pickle. So. What do you do when a friend is in need? You help any way you can! We are accepting commissions to help Darrty out. Just pick an artist and a price. Once we get payment you'll have fancy new art! Help us reach our goal!

Is the new rule in effect regardless of whether or not proof is produced that a specific webcomic author has authorized commissions of their characters?

If the author of the webcomic has explicitly stated not to have a problem with private commissions (For example, like Hussie authorised it for Homestuck)  and if we can be linked to said statement then there is no problem if anyone wants to commission HFD for art of that webcomic.

What I mean is, are individual commissionners who offer commissions outside HFD also bound by the new rule when doing non-HFD commissions?

Its not a rule as such, like no one else has told us off for it. It is more like, we don't feel comfortable with doing fanart of other webcomics when we know a lot of them have to make a living off of it. If the artist has said it is fine, obviously it is an exception. And for individual commissioners, its their prerogative whether they want to take the chance or not. :/

Hey Anon, sorry we must have missed this ask! While we're grateful for the help, we already have really a lot of artists and not even enough commissions to fill these artists timeslots! Right now the signal boosts are the main way you can help if you cannot outright commission. Thank you anyway though.

We're changing a condition of commission. Please read carefully. We won't take commissions that involve fan art for webcomics. We don't know how the authors of those webcomics feels about this, so for moral reasons, we won't accept commissions from these. We will soon contact the people who commissioned this kind of fan art, so please check your mails. Now before you ask, we will continue to do Homestuck fan arts, following these rules.
