Nothing more disheartening than when you get interested in a male character and you look him up on Tumblr Dot Com Slash Search and the tag is almost entirely “imagine x reader” posts about a bizarro sex god daddy dom version of the poor schmuck
FUCK. honestly just FUCK. We missed a very important day yesterday.
what was yesterday, cat?
I’m not missing it this year.
Y'all ever eat a peach so juicy you gotta do it hunched over the kitchen sink?
This is not a euphemism I just had a really great peach today.
think about the first movie you remember seeing in a movie theater. not necessarily the first one you saw in a theater, but your oldest memory of seeing one in a theater. what genre of movie was it?
comedy/dark comedy/satire
action
sci-fi
fantasy
horror/thriller
romance/romantasy
historical/period drama/biopic/documentary/historical fiction/political
drama/tragedy
adventure/epic/superhero
mystery/crime
i have a memory of a film but am not sure what film it is (describe?)
i have never seen a film in the theater/cinema in person
for the purpose of this poll, things like "animation" and "musical" are not options here because those are mediums and can be any genre! i also sort of felt like inclusion of either of these would result in them dominating this particular poll. so instead, think of which of these selections MOST sums up the movie you're thinking of. it's okay if multiple of these apply, but just pick the one that would sum it up best.
also, you obviously don't have to, but please consider leaving the movie and the year it was released in the tags! i am probably going to make a letterboxd list of everyone's responses, especially if this spreads around enough. check back for the link!
I got 60 out of 1000 😂
Based on the number of ratings each book has on Goodreads. And if you haven't read them, maybe you can use for a literature bucket list.
Anyone who says they’ve read all 1000 is a liar because one of them is a huge cookbook and no one is actively joy reading that.
with some of these it’s like “fuck, I did read that,” and with some it’s like “Oh fuck, I did read that.”
I got 99, but I counted a few that I had only mostly-read before deciding I didn’t like them and never finishing them.
unbelievable that its 4/20 and absolutely nobody has put the objectively best rage comic on my dash yet. i have to do everything around here
runner up
Just got off a whole day on a bus to check the world's most beautiful pictures of the Moon and Trump threatening genocide upon a whole civilization
oh carlitos we're really in it now
Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
It’s very clear that you all have strong feelings about Tumblr and about this change. We hear you. The passion people have for how Tumblr works is one of the things that makes this place special.
As this rolls out over the next few days and you explore it, we’ll keep reading your replies and reblogs, so please keep sharing your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Your creativity has always been the heart of Tumblr, whether you’re the original poster or adding something brilliant in the reblogs, and nothing about this change is meant to limit that.
If you’d like to talk directly beyond the comments, leave a reply and we’ll follow up with as many of you as we can. We want to work with you to make Tumblr better.
hey folks do we like this. reblog without commentary for reach
do we want this?
yes
no
I just sent feedback to the staff about the new update. If you wish to do the same but don´t know what to write, you can copy/paste my text:
To send feedback, go to Help/Contact Support and select "Feedback" from the dropdown menu.
Here´s the body for copy-pasting:
The new update about siloing notes for every new reblog (with comment) is a very bad idea because it has the potential of causing much more damage than any good. We as original posters want to see the reach of our posts and all the comments and tags from everyone! If anyone can just so simply steal a post from the OP and get their own notes for it — notes that the OP will never see or be notified of — then there's a potential of malicious bots or people doing this for their own gain or worse yet, add whatever rotten lies or rumors, and the OP will never see it but will get the hate into their inbox. And this is just one of the negative effects. This will essentially destroy the classic tumblr reblog format, and will also negatively affect the helpful things like adding image descriptors for visually impaired, or the tags preservation culture as a whole. Please reconsider! We as the userbase don't want this.
I listened to Guards! Guards! as my audiobook during a long car trip the other day (I've read it before but it was a while ago) and while listening I was idly imagining how I might adapt it into a tv show. Yknow, what I'd keep, what I'd change, etc. etc.
And I think one of the things I'd change is I'd move Vetinari's speech about the inherent evil of humanity from the oblong office at the end, to instead being when they were both trapped in the dungeon and Vimes was trying to break out.
It sort of felt like a weird sentiment for Vetinari to be expressing immediately after A: Vimes saved his life and B: he decided to spare Carrot's. I think it fits better at what is more or less the nadir of the story, and the setting of being in the dungeon fits better too I think. Vimes is also more alone at that point than he is later and is in a better state to be effected by the nihilism of the speech.
Happy International Women's Day
I'm sorry I was cropping one of your posts to send to a friend and I used increase resolution and I'm really sorry I didn't know that used an ai to artificially enhance the image I deleted it and I never would've knowingly done that to your art.
dude im not a priest and this isn't a confessional, relax, you're fine, deep breaths
The sad fact of the matter is that, while yeah, AI totally sucks, we're rapidly approaching a state of affairs where it's gonna be damn near impossible to avoid and you'll probably be using it without knowing beforehand. S'not your fault.
Get pissed at the companies shoving it down our throats, and cut yourself some slack
Also, just as a bit of general life advice: If you feel like you've messed up you don't actually have to go seek forgiveness for it. Nine times out of ten the person you think you've wronged doesn't really give a shit and if you've already fixed the problem they don't need to know. It's actually fine, you're good, chillax
while i agree that clint being fat absolutely contributes to people not giving him the benefit of the doubt, stardew fans are also just. weirdly vitriolic about random little character things tbh? like ive seen people use all of pierre and kent and demitius' character flaws to call them bad fathers and husbands, ive seen people call elliot a creep for that one cutscene where youre alone in a boat with him, dont even get me started on haley and penny. its like. kinda wild for such a chill game.
Yeah, I mean, I guess I'm one of those weirdos who happens to like *all* the SDV characters because I find them all interesting? And they bring color to the world because they're all different and have unique quirks and flaws and shit? It's actually a major part of what makes SDV such a wildly popular and beloved game?? And it boggles my mind when people seem to get pissed about that???
Like, you can like what you like, and I genuinely don't care if someone dislikes a character for whatever reason. It just ticks me off when the hatred is so performatively huge that it makes it pretty easy to see the biases underlying it.
