Been on a bit of a He-Man kick lately (mainly for Orko lol). I just watched the episode from the original series where we meet Dree Elle for the first time and felt inspired to draw her and Orko.

Not really a fan of how quickly they fall in love (typical forced romance plot amirite?) but I still think they’re really cute together :3

Goofy thing from earlier last year (simpler times :’3)

A couple months ago I came up with this goofy story idea about a knight (Sir Llolo) and an evil wizard (Trokantor) that are constantly beefing with each other, heavily inspired by Looney Tunes (one of my peers said it also gave them Wander Over Yonder vibes). I decided to use this idea for a project for one of my classes, where I’ll be making a comic book “dummy” (basically a proof of concept comic book thing)

Here’s a bunch of sketches and concepts

I’m leaning into a slightly cartoonier, “squishier” style than what I normally do.

Background character designs (I think some Moomin influence crept in lol)

I have to remind myself that this doesn’t need to be perfectly historically accurate, but I’m also making sure to stick to around 13th-14th century Europe to keep the overall aesthetic *somewhat* cohesive (John Peacock’s The Chronicle of Western Costume has been a great resource for outfit design inspo)

Yana (and Gutsy). The protagonist(s) from my dark fantasy WebToon Grottoworld!

Yana is a mute warrior on a revenge quest and Gutsy is a parasitoid that’s attached to her head and feeds on her blood and mucus. Even though Yana is mute, Gutsy can understand her thoughts and speak for her.

Personality-wise, Yana is very stubborn and hard-headed, often acting on impulse with little consideration for others. Gutsy tries to act as her voice of reason to keep her out of trouble. Yana does not like being told what to do.

More fun facts:

• Yana is 6’3” (not counting the extra height from Gutsy)

• Yana frequently gets nosebleeds since Gutsy is partially burrowed into her nasal cavity

• Gutsy can spit corrosive venom

• Gutsy typically refers to Yana as “Host”, or affectionately “dear host” (ex: “Host, this is a bad idea.”, “Thank you, dear host.”)

• Yana hates the fact that Gutsy is attached to her but she doesn’t have a choice because [secret story reasons]

• Yana loves alcohol. Gutsy can get sick from consuming alcoholic blood. Many arguments ensue.
