White Day (Bakugou x OC)
The dorms were quiet for the most part that day. A majority of her fellow students were either studying, out and about to celebrate White Day, or in the commons area playing video games. After an hour of watching Kaminari and Kirishima duke it out in a fighting game, Hana decided to excuse herself and head up to her dorm room. As she turned the corner to enter the hallway that would lead her there, she heard a low, familiar voice.
“Oi. Kazama.”
Hana blinked as she spotted Katsuki Bakugou leaning against the wall outside her door with his arms folded grumpily over his chest. She hadn’t seen him since their last class together that day… she’d just been starting to wonder where he had run off to.
“Ahh?” She bleated as she approached him with a puzzled expression, “Bakugou-san, what’s up?”
Immediately he dug into his pocket with a scowl and thrust a small box into her hands.
“Take your shitty White Day present.”
Blinking again, she stared down at the little box that sat perfectly in the palm of her hand, cradled by her long fingers. It was wrapped in white wrapping paper and a bow adorned the top of it, tied with silver ribbon. With a tug, the ribbon came loose and she neatly plucked the paper apart with an amused smile, much to the chagrin of the impatient teen seething in front of her.
What she found inside after she lifted the lid was rather… surprising. The box had been pretty fancy, sure… but never in her wildest dreams would Hana have expected to see a dainty necklace glinting up at her… and from Bakugou, no less! Sure, she didn’t exactly give him chocolate for Valentine’s Day, so she could understand him not giving her the traditional chocolate in return.
Leave it to Bakugou to one-up me on gift-giving after I got him those Bluetooth ear buds last month…
It was a long, delicate silver chain pulled into a taut display in its box by the cardboard casing and by a simple, yet elegant pendant. The pendant itself was a vision of silver petals that formed a blooming rose. In its center, it held a pearl no larger than her pinky nail. It was probably the most beautiful gift she’d ever received… the first she’d received from a boy… yet she had to smirk at the irony of his choice: giving a flower pendant to a girl whose name literally meant ‘flower.’
“A flower, huh? That’s original.” She lifted an amused brow up at him, making him blow a gasket.
“If you don’t fucking want it, then-” Katsuki pushed himself from his leaning position and rounded on her with a snarl- only to be cut off by her mischievous lips pressed against his. If his face wasn’t considered red before… it certainly would be now.
“I really like it.” She chirped as she pulled away with an impish grin, enjoying his stunned, overheated expression. Pulling the delicate thing from its box, she presented it to him with a wink, “Put it on me?”
With a huff, he folded his arms over his chest again and turned his face away,
“Put it on yourself.”
With a giggle, she hopped beside him and poked at his cheek with a coo,
“Aww… Please, Kacchan?”
The boy glared at her and smacked her hand away, surely about to explode into a fit of rage.
“Call me that again and I’ll strangle you with the damn thing.”
This didn’t deter Hana from taunting him into doing her bidding. She did a little hopping skip to move in front of him, leaning forward with a coy smile and playful teasing tone in her voice.
“Oh pretty please, King Explosion-Murder? Lord Explodo-Kill? Number One Hero in the making?”
“Hn.” He couldn’t help but smirk as his ego was unabashedly stroked, “Well since you asked so nicely…”
She let the necklace drop into the waiting palm of his hand and turned around so that her back faced him. Katsuki could feel his ears absolutely burn as he unclasped the thin chain and lifted it over her head. He would have been satisfied if that awkwardness had been the most difficult part of the stupid task… but after lowering the chain until the pendant rested against her sternum, he found himself fumbling clumsily with the clasp at the back of her neck.
“Damn it...” He hissed irritably.
“Trouble?” She snickered breathily.
“Shut up! I’ll kill you!” Katsuki snapped as he continued to struggle with the frustratingly tiny clasp of the chain.
This continued for a solid two minutes: Katsuki cursing both under his breath and at the top of his lungs in turn while he tried to perform the seemingly simple act of putting a necklace on a woman. Hana was nearly shaking in tears trying to hold her laughter in. Finally losing patience, he pinched the two ends together between his finger and thumb and welded them as one with a miniscule, controlled explosion.
Hana felt the sudden heat and yelped, whirling around and clapping a hand to the back of her neck to find his handiwork.
“What-?! How am I supposed to get this off, asshole?”
Katsuki lurched forward, his hands crackling irritably.
“What, you’re saying you don’t like it now?!”
“No, I didn’t say that!” She snapped, clenching her fists as she took a step forward.
“Then never take it off!” He howled right in her face.
Silence fell around them as the last reverberations of his voice filtered out down the hall. It took a few short seconds for him to realize what he had just said, and it made the teen take a few steps backward, averting his gaze as a creeping blush swept across his face; from one ear, across his nose and to the other ear. Hana blinked slowly as she watched him squirm for a moment before she felt a warm smile slide across her face.
“Alright,” She replied, clasping he hands together behind her back, “I won’t.”
Katsuki’s eyes widened before he snapped his gaze to meet hers. She watched his face turn a deeper shade of red as they shared a quiet moment, until his expression darkened into an embarrassed scowl.
“Tch.” He scoffed and whirled around on his heels to skulk down the hallway away from her… leaving a grinning Hana in his wake.
So I’ve recycled Henna’s look for a character for my new obsession: My Hero Academia. And yeah… she’s taking Mineta’s place in 1-A and I’m totally gonna ship her with Bakugou eventually. The cheese bread biscuits from red lobster?!? Teach us dear anon submitter!!!
TEACH US ThE SECRET
@thantos1991 @peanut-for-your-thought @simonalkenmayer
This is the easier recipe, taste damn near the same but less work, but it also makes like 48 biscuits:
8 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
2 2/3 cups milk cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon old bay seasoning OR onion powder
Preheat to 450
mix bisquick mix, cheese and milk until a soft dough forms. don’t over stir, it mixes pretty quick grease a pan or put parchment paper down Put dough balls about 2 inches apart, and put in oven. MAKE SURE the oven is completely pre heated, if you put it in before hand the biscuits will come out nasty. Bake 8-10 minutes. Melt the butter in the microwave completely. Add parsley, seasonings and stir.
Once biscuits are done, should be brown on the bottom, pull them out and let them sit for a moment before covering or dipping them in the butter. Dipping upside down means more coverage.
NOW, here is the recipe I actually use:
This recipe makes 10-12 biscuits.
3 cups all purpose Flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 tablespoon sugar 1 teaspoon salt ¾ teaspoon cream of tartar ¾ cup butter or ½ cup butter ¼ shortening 1 and ¼ cup milk
Preheat oven to 450. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cream of tartar. Using a blender/pastry blender, cut the butter into the mixture until it looks crumbly. make a well/hole in the middle of the mixture and pour ALL the milk in at once.
Now, you’ll want to add the cheese, which for this recipe you’ll want to use ¾ to 1 cup sharp cheddar. Use a fork to stir/fold the mixture just until the mixture is all moist. Do not over mix. Use a spoon or scoop, and scoop 12 onto a parchment paper or a greased pan surface. You’ll want to put them 1 ½ - 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-14 minutes, until the bottoms are brown.
½ cup butter or margarine, melted ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon parsley 1/3 teaspoon old bay seasoning OR onion powder
Melt the butter, mix and either dip the biscuits in or cover them with a brush/spoon. If there is any left over it goes super good on french bread too.
You are a queen among bees.
