For some reason, I always thought Henriette died way younger, I don’t know why I remembered it that way. Realising she was 19 is truly devastating.

She wasn’t even 19 :’( she was 18y 2 months and 3 weeks

Henriette Eulalie Françoise was born on the 28th December 1761 around 6 a.m and was baptised the same day. Her godfather was her maternal grandfather, Jacques François Carrault, and her godmother her paternal grandmother, Marie Marguerite Françoise Poiteau. Source: her baptism record (the record start as the bottom of the left page). 

She passed away on the 20th March 1780. The record is difficult to read; at the beginning it says “aged between 18 to 19 years old”, but she was closer to 18 than to 19. Source: her death record (starts at the bottom of the left page).

Henriette... What do we know about her?

Not alot unfortunately, I've done alot of digging too. Like I've said before, I adore this entire family to pieces. As far as I can tell Charlotte and Henriette were close, but it isn't surprising given they were together like Maxime and Augustin.

Henriette passed away when she was 18 while away with Charlotte at the place where they were being schooled- there is a death certificate and I believe we know where she's buried. But unfortunately I couldn't find why. But for her to live to be a young adult I have the feeling she became ill/caught something that she just couldn't fight off which was common enough that I feel it makes sense.

Henriette's death already make the very close Robespierre siblings even closer however, that's for sure, and it makes me think about how often they lived together/very near to each other and if there was perhaps any anxiety that played a part in that 🤔

Also a tiny tidbit- in his poem that he wrote in her honor after her passing Maxime refered to Henriette's "raven tresses" so it would seem she had dark hair like Charlotte. She also could have been pale, but that might have also been Maxime being dramatic with wording 😂

In a good way, of course. Only that brothers can do. I myself am the oldest but I have yet to have any real contact with my brothers and sisters. It must be quite nice to have such a connection like yours and Maxime's, so don't fret too much.

It's true, Maxime and I love each other very much as siblings. I just felt bad that I added to my brother's worries... He has way too many.
