My dead name is easy to mispronounce on the first try, so I've always hated it. My parents and teachers used to roll their eyes when I tried to introduce myself as anything else. I was a quiet kid, so they were always quick to talk over me and correct people, letting them know it was my "quirky" phase. (Didn't help I stole it from a book)

Well, that was back in middle school. Now I'm in my 20s, learning culinary, still using nicknames. And I've been called Alex so many times in my classes, I've realized a few days ago I almost forgotten I even had a dead name, lol. My best friend doesn't even know it, but he's said I wouldn't suit any other name but Alex anyways. I'm only a few years older, but man, middle school me wouldn't have believed how far I already am.

So, cheers. It's a small reason, but I made a trans cake to celebrate it anyways. To us. To queer joy. To weird girls and boys out there, just hang on a little longer, you'll get there too.

About the "enbys are invading women's spaces." I am not justifying it, but I heard from Etymology Nerd about how communities form around niches and as the community becomes less niche, what happens is that some people will try to make a new community because the importance of the niche was that it was niche in the first place. Plus there needs to be spaces for everyone.

However, to encourage the idea that the binary is a must and is not a spectrum is not a good idea at all. People can make their own spaces, but to say that their space is being invaded by the existence of non binary people is downright absurd.

Well, saphic is a thing, and exclusively stands for wlw, so we find there the niche community those may seek. But to claim that people not fitting the binary (non binary, agender, etc...) haven't always used the labels gay and lesbian is a lie either anyways, and always a poor understanding of queer history all around the world.
