This is Ventus aka Soundtrack's Wayward Wish. He is four years old and my intro to sports dog! We train in agility, herding, and rally. So far we are only competing in rally but hope to change that soon.

I was previously on Tumblr a while ago as @soulofamutt but Tumblr won't let me access the account so we are now here!

Dulce and Tymer who were previously on there no longer live with me. Tymer had cancer and unfortunately passed and Dulce lives with my father and two new dog sisters with lots of room to run and play. (She was his to begin with)

I plan to record and share as much of our journey chasing our RACH, ACH, and WTCH as I can as well as our little family starts to grow

Ven went out on the boat with the hound dogs over the weekend. He decided he was gonna spend the entire time swimming which I was shocked cause even with his life jacket on he prefers being on land but hey to each their own. He also suprised me how well hes adjusting to things I thought were gonna be forever triggers with him. Fine with the people, fine with the new dogs etc etc

Some photos from his first trial. We were so close to getting our title that weekend, but by the end he was tired, the sheep were over it, and I also was exhausted. Buuut he got 2/3 Qs. I dont plan on trialing him again until November just to get that last Q in the mean time we are going back to foundations and drills cause boy did he blow me off so much that weekend. Once I feel more comfortable ill pick up trialing him again probably in March

I don't know if ill be getting a male or a female. I told the breeder gender was low on my list of preferences. I care more about temperment, then looks, then gender. At first I wanted to stick with a kingdom hearts theme to match Ventus. I think multi dog families with a theme is absolutely adorable! Buuut I also really like pokemon names, Spiderman villain names, and skateboard company names.... thankfully I have plenty of time to decide

Our started A trial is coming up this weekend and this kid is stressssssing me out! He cannot get the concept of a lift 😭. He does everything else on the course great. Ive been driving him to see stock once a week for the past month and a half and im ready to stop putting so many miles on my car and chill out with the gas prices 😮‍💨. Its like 2.5 hrs each way 🙃

We went herding today again! I say again cause for cost and travel purposes I limit myself to once every other week. But since I know we have a trial coming up im trying to get as many reps as I can. This lesson we are working on our outruns and trying to get the nice big swooping outruns. He likes things nice and tight to the sheep which sometimes creates a bit of chaos when hes flanking or wearing. So im trying to get him to understand he can still do his job with a bit of distance

And the journey continues on, the next step in Aayla's sport journey is scentwork.

Today she had her first run and she qualified! She did novice interiors and really did well. I worried that she maybe wouldn't know what we are doing or that she would keep checking in with me.

But she didn't, she went out and searched with confidence, found it and indicated! So proud of her.
