What a day it was ! To know, to love, to protect. The Art Park in collaboration with #HeritageBeku started the first event of the new decade with a heritage theme . To see this beautiful piece of Eden ensconced peacefully in the city bustle, was a joy in itself. Special thanks to the Art Park committee chaired by SG Vasudev, & #HeritageBeku ‘a Ammu Joseph who were so open to the idea #HeritageBeku suggested, and who embraced it so warmly with their team and participating artists. Wrapped in the embrace of a warm winter sun , the artists, their brushes , visitors and children wandered , sandwiched between an emerald green grass carpet below and a quilted fluffy sky above. And everything was beautiful. Latha reddy former Ambassador was Guest of Honour and Naresh Naresh V Narasimhan, planner and architect was the chief guest. Mr Jeyakumar and Satya Prakash Varanashi led the conversation. "You can't save what you don't love, and you can't love what you don't know." The artists were giving us an opportunity to know heritage , and a chance to love - and then perhaps to save..🍃 With warm words to remind the artists on their special bond with heritage, the bond that we Must SHARE if only to preserve heritage, the day was off to a good start. If you missed today, you missed some magic, the chance to interweave a shared history with a creative soul. It’s as great to see so many familiar and well known artists and so many from out of town as well. I was so happy to see Mr Sathyu, Mrs Saras Karnad, meet the beloved Jasu Rawal , ( whose works are in my dining room), Krishnappa , Shirley Matthew , @Shan Re Mridul Chandra, Rani Rekha and so many others including #HeritageBeku members like Biju Cherayath . Loved the #HeritageBeku Ganesha that Mr Sudhir made under a minute! Smiles and camaraderie abounded as artists came together on articulating what heritage and their shared heritage means . Shirley’s abstract Ganesha representing the destruction of Heritage was particularly poignant. And in this little Eden, the artists stretched and painted, spoke and shared and one couldn’t help the sigh of joy, just being in the thick of things .Until the next one, Au Voir (at Ravindra Kalakshetra ರವೀಂದ್ರ ಕಲಾಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7OyrNBlcVh/?igshid=1n3w17h25bt5
