Anxiety in MarioLand

I don’t consider myself claustrophobic but last night I dreamt I was jumping around a course from a generic Mario game. I lifted my arms and jumped into a green pipe but it had no energy/magic so I was stuck inside with my hands up and couldn’t move cuz the place was tight and suddenly my leg was itchy and i started ventilating until I woke up.

Why do my dreams become nightmares?

Edge of the World

I will now share with you one of my most treasured dreams. I do believe that dreams are just windows into other versions of ourselves that either exist in alternate realities or in a different timelines*, so when I woke in the middle of the night from this beautiful dream, I tried writing it all down in my notes app as to not forget…

(*I always had this belief, which surprised me when I saw that others believed the same thing when I saw this exact concept in that one Dr. Strange movie)

I am, for those who are not aware, a “closeted” queer man. In this dream, I was in a library with my family looking through books. As we searched the books, a beautiful man walked up to us and I introduced him to my family as my lover. My dad was angry and began to yell at us while my mom was crying. I began to feel small and cornered by my furious father, but then my love of a man grabbed my hand and pulled me away. We ran through the library as if we were being chased, yet we still held on to each other’s hands. This library had long rows of books stacked upon other books and we ran up to the edge where there was a huge opening. That’s when I realized we were in a library that was at the edge of the world, one more step and we would fall into the abyss of space. (I’m not a flat-earther but this alternate dream world was flat I guess haha)

Anyways, whatever was chasing us was catching up and thats when we looked at each other and we both decided, without saying a word, to jump off the edge. We hugged each other and threw ourselves off the into a dark pool of stars and nothingness.

Although we were falling, I felt no fear, no worries of dying or where we would end up. We held each other close and it felt warm and I wish I had never woken up from that dream.

Dream or Nightmare?

Today I had two dreams while taking my afternoon nap. They might actually be nightmares by the way they ended, but I didn’t feel scared so I’m not sure what to call them…

In the first dream I was slowly driving a truck during the night through a somewhat crowded place filled with street vendors. When I least expected it, I blipped that version of me into another reality where I was in the same place but everyone was gone.

I felt lonely not knowing where to go. When I woke up I feared that I left that dream version of me in a reality that wasn’t his and now he couldn’t return home.

I went back to sleep hoping I could save my dreamself and return him home but the version of me I found was meditating in a shallow pool sitting with his legs crossed. Suddenly, I fell backwards and woke up. I think I might have accidentally drowned that version of me.

Hopefully they are both doing ok. Will update if I ever dream these versions of me again, but I highly doubt I will meet them again.
