PORTO: IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD PLAN
Teresa and Pablo were winners of a photoshoot with Hero & Creatives in Porto.
Happy 2015! Meet the team
First thing we want to do in 2015 is ... suprise ... to introduce ourselves! Yeah, sounds like the right time to do it after almost two years of work=)
How many times did you see posts and emails from us signed as H&C Team? We guess a lot=) Now it is time to know the real names and the story behind it.
Most of you already know Iris from Spain, the creator of the project, photographer and graphic designer. After her Erasmus in Porto she decided to stay there to work on her project which later became Hero&Creatives. In spring 2014 Iris was joined by Irina from Russia, who came to Porto for a marketing internship. It is hard to say now who found who=) We met on Facebook: Iris made a post about the company and Irina wrote a message offering her help.
And this is how our story started and the story of Hero&Creatives continued. We worked a lot in summer together in Porto making plans about the future and believing in what we are doing. We had both hard and great moments together, which all were only for good because we were learning a lot. At the beginning of August Irina had to go back to Finland (this is where she lives) to finnish her studies. And since then we are working on Hero&Creatives in this remote mode still making plans about the future, having even stronger belief in what we are doing and hoping to reunite again in 2015!
These are just the facts. There is so much more behind this short piece of text. We just wanted you to know who responds to your emails, writes posts about you and tags you in photos=)
Also, we would like to thank and to send millions of hugs to Jorge Arribas, Laura Guijarro and Surreal for their help and support.
Finally, we wanted to wish you a Great 2015 and tell you how much every single one of you means to us and how happy you make us!
Yours,
Iris and IrinaÂ
Happy New Year! Looking back at 2014
Time to thank our great hero travelers and to tell the world once again how proud we are that you chose us to capture your wonderful memories. Together we did a lot this year:
We would like to specially thank:
Diana Vinha for being the first hero - traveler;
Angela Carrascosa for doing 4 trips with us and planning to continue our partnership;
Diana Mota for becoming our friend for life and recommending us to her friends;
Sandro Bernardo for being the only one at the moment who challenged himself in a cold snowy place with us=);
all our newly married couples for sharing with us their honeymoon memories and experiences;
the growing team of the best photographers who inspire us every day with their professionalism and creativity.
Happy New Year and all the best wishes to all of you!
See you in 2015!
Iris and Irina
CORDOBA: JOURNEY TO THE PAST
Noelia, CĂ©sar and Candela organized a special family honeymoon trip, visiting different cities in their own country, Spain. During this adventure they discovered a wonderful CĂłrdoba tothether with a person who knew and loved this place so much, that they also fell in love with its streets, people, and architecture.Â
When César's sister wrote us telling the young family's honeymoon plan we got really excited. Raquel was doubting about which city to choose for the gift, and finally, between Seville and Cordoba, the latter was chosen.
Fabian L., one of our guide - photographers in Cordoba, had a chance to share an evening with this wonderful family. And no surprise that the family enjoyed the experience as well. This is the message we received from César, Noelia and small Candela after the tour (when travelers write us such beautiful things, it is better to quote directly):
"Besides taking wonderful photos, Fabian showed the city and explained many things about it. Moreover, he took us to a potato tortilla lunch: rich and super fat!
He also showed us one of the things we liked the most of CĂłrdoba - the sunset, that mixture of orange and leaden. We saw the colours of the Roman bridge reflecting in the river Guadalquivir and the tower of the cathedral was in the background. It was a spectacular view.
It was a great honeymoon! We decided to stay in Spain because Candela is too small and we had traveled to many amazing places before. Cordoba was no exception! We really loved the experience with Hero & Creatives, and for sure we will do it again. We are already thinking to go to Argentina next time and we want to have Hero & Creatives team with us."
We do appreciate every single word our travelers write to us after they receive their photo memories. And we are thankful to everyone who works hard as a Hero and dreams with us!
Finally, we would like to mention some more information about CĂłrdoba. Since we are talking about Spain today, here are some traveling advice from a travel blogger who is gaining more and more popularity: Ana Pioneer. If you are traveling to Spain, you will find lots of cool and useful information in her blog and in her Twitter as well=)
CĂłrdoba is an ancient city, and has second largest historical center of Europe, the largest urban space declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
CĂłrdoba was the capital of the Emirate of Cordoba and the Caliphate of Cordoba, and reached its peak in the X centurywhen it was one of the largest cities in the world as well as cultural, political and economic center. From these times we can see the famous Mezquita de CĂłrdoba and other works of art from the Islamic period. At the same time we can enjoy Roman architecture and other cultures passed through this great city.
Remember that you can meet Hero & Creatives team anywhere in the world;) You enjoy your adventure, we handle memories. If you cannot find your location on our website please email us at [email protected], and we will deal with it like Heros=)Â
Singapore: an urban fairytale
Singapore is the city of contrasts: shining high - tech skyscrapers are next to parks and gardens bursting with colours. It seems like this place is changing every second, and is always one step ahead. Iñigo and Maria took a chance to catch up with this exotic combination.
A Spanish couple Iñigo and Maria received a Hero & Creatives phototour as a wedding gift from their friends Ana and Edu. Our creative Jade became their guide - photographer prepared for them a journey to discover the hidden charms of this magic city.
At first sight, Singapore astonishes travelers' imagination with its marvelous architecture. One of the most astonishing sites that our travelers visited was Marina Bay Sands: three 200meters towers with a huge ship with a green garden on top (sounds like a dream of a crazy architect, but it does look impressive=)
Gardens are a must in Singapore. Gardens by the Bay which Iñigo and Maria visited during their tour were created as a part of the government project. Now this huge cosmic greenhouse in the city center is a great place to relax and get inspired.
Singapore never stopped to surprise our travelers with its futuristic forms. They enjoyed a quiet time in a cafe at Esplanade, which is one of the world's busiest at centers with a concert hall and a library.
Most of the sites the couple visited are incredibly huge, so the only way to see all those wonders at their best was to get to some viewpoint. Saying that the views from the top are breathtaking is noting. Fortunately, we have Jade, our lovely creative, who was able to capture both the magic place and the magic couple who cheer us with their smiles and energy!
Eternal spring in San Francisco
Breathtaking postcard views, colourful neighbourhood, bohemian atmosphere and eternal spring: any description will not be enough to visualize the dream city of many wanderlust travelers. Elena and Rubén have recently experienced this vibrant and energetic place together with Hero & Creatives.
A phototour with Hero & Creatives was a honeymoon gift for Elena and RubĂ©n from their cousins Ălvaro, Laura and Beatriz.
Here is a quote by Gary Snider that Boris Z., their guide photographer in San Francisco, put in his profile on our website: "I don't know of any other city where you can walk through so many culturally diverse neighbourhoods, and you're never out of sight of the wild hills.Nature is very close here." These words perfectly define the city and the tour that Boris, who has already worked twice for us, probided for the lovely couple.
Right after the trip Elena wrote to us that she and her husband were exptremely happy both about the tour and about Boris with his great knowldege about the city and his caring and professional attitude. âMaybe it is because it was something unexpected and unusual, or because the city was brand new to us, or may be because Boris was super nice, but the fact is that it was great!â
At some point all three of them realized that there was not enough time to see all the places Boris wanted to show. So, they had a great idea: they rented bikes! Elena and RubĂ©n took a tandem â a wondeful beginning for their happy family life together. By the endof the trip they were a bit tired but impressed and satisfied with the experience they had.
As for the photos, Elena said that they really loved them. So, dear Elena and Rubén, now it is time for the world to see your story=) We are very happy you enjoyed your experience with Hero & Creatives. We hope you enjoy this post as much as we love these photos!
Love and sunshine in Vietnam
Vietnam is simply amazing. As well as Virginia and Chus, the lovely couple who traveled to Hoi An to enjoy their time together in an exotic and breathtaking atmosphere of this country. âUnique moments we will never forgetâ, this is how they described the trip and the experience with Hero & Creatives. Vir and Chus filled the photos with joy, love and sunshine. We actually have an idea that these photos have a superpower to reduce stress and make you happy=)
Vir and Chus are from Spain, and they received the honeymoon phototour as a wedding gift from their friends Laura and Toño who couldn't attend the wedding and wanted to surprise the couple with an original and meaningful present.
The tour and the photoshoot were done by Kaizen N. It was her second work for Hero & Creatives, and again she was able to capture both the chemistry of the couple and wonderful places they visited. Last time Kaizen made us very emotional when she said she would spend the money earned for the tour on English classes. And she actually did so! She is improving a lot, so she can communicate better with future Hero travelers.
âKaizen won us over with her shyness, cute smile and great enthusiasm she put in each photoâ, Vir wrote to us. Kaizen came to the tour with a friend, who was a translator, and who helped to provide a better communication for Vir and Chus. âThe sweetness of both and the beauty of the place made the time fly by. Together they are a great teamâ.
This is what Vir wrote to us about their experience: âAt first it was a bit strange to try to demonstrate love and affection in front of the people you hardly know. But then we had some drinks, chatted a little, shared our interests and wedding memories, showed some photos, and it all started to work very well. At some point it looked like four friends are simply having a good time together!â
Kaizen is not only a talented photographer but also an amazing guide. She was always very attentive, so they don't miss anything. At the end of the tour she gave the couple the bracelets which she had made herself.
âWhen we saw the photos they revived all the memories from the trip, and all the moments of those days passed in our minds.â This is the best compliment both to Kaizen and to us.
Here is a photo of the guys with Kaizen:
At the end we have a little surprise for you: here is a video from Vir and Chus's wedding. This is the moment when they receive Hero & Creatives phototour as a gift (they are simply perfect!):
New York, we love you: adventurous newlyweds in Brooklyn
âIt has been the best day since we arrived here!â, Pepe and Mar wrote to us right after the Hero & Creatives tour was done. âEverything is going great with Timothy. He is very nice and very friendly and everything is perfect!â. Pepe and Mar were having an urban and very dynamic phototour in Brooklyn, New York, and these messages totally made our day!
Mar and Pepe from South of Spain received a honeymoon gift from a couple of friends, Marco and Ana.
The couple has just got married and was very excited about capturing the first moments of their family life on the other side of the world â in New York. They were even thinking about taking their wedding photographer to the trip. But of course booking everything for one more person could have cost quite a lot. Hero & Creatives phototour was a perfect solution.
Mar and Pepe chose not to have a typical âenjoying the beachâ honeymoon. They decided to go hardcore=) A bunch of friends discovering the United States: unusual, challenging and very romantic at the same time!
After the couple arrived to Brooklyn the plan was to have a tour and a photoshoot accompanied by Timothy M., one of our most featured photographers in New York.
âTimothy knew a little bit of Spanish and we learned some English words as wellâ, says Pepe. They enjoyed an amazing time together visiting various places in Brooklyn including the famous Brooklyn Bridge and having lunch in a place recommended by Timothy. âHe was telling us interesting things about the neighborhood and USA in generalâ. The couple loved the place so much that they brought their friends there the other day. For dessert they took an ice cream from the yellow van that they had seen in a movie.
Timothy planned to take the guys to the other places in New York, more to the center, but Mar and Pepe got so much in love with the atmosphere of Brooklyn that they preferred to stay there and hang around a bit more. âOverall that day was unique and different, something that we are always looking for when we travelâ, Pepe concluded.
Here is the selfie that Pepe sent to us after the tour. Look at those happy faces!
Vietnam: to infinity and beyond
"Thank you for making these memories unforgettable!", our recent travelers Mireia and Jorge pleased us with these beautiful words after their tour in Hoi An, one of the most charming cities in Vietnam. The tour and the photoshoot were made by our creative photographer Kaizen N., who was able to capture both exotic and authentic atmosphere of the city and the connection between our sweet couple. However, there is another beautiful story behind the tour and the photos which we would like to share=)
It was Mireia and Jorgeâs friends who decided to present them with a Hero and Creatives Gift Card for a phototour in any part of the world.
At first, the couple was planning to make the tour in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Form our side we recommend a smaller and more quiet city, with unique locations that could be covered in our 4 hours tour without the need to take public transport to change locations and simply enjoy the walk.
At the same time this decision was important for us because Hero & Creatives has photographers in most of the world capitals. It seemed a bit challenging to find a professional and creative photographer in a small place.
When we discovered the works of Kaizen, we simply fell in love with her photos and contacted her immediately.
She was very honest about her English language skills, saying that she could not speak very well. But she was so excited about the opportunity to work with us that she said she would be able to communicate by drawing and prepare a small personalized gift for the couple. This is what we call love at first sight=)
So what is the result? Amazing photographs, incredible memories from a honeymoon, and a person in the other side of the world that helped her promote herself and simply feel happy about the people she met and accomplished about the work she did.
After the tour Kaizen wrote us that she will use the money earned to pay for English classes, so she can do even better with our future travelers. Isnât it precious?
We believe that it is an amazing feeling for travelers to know that they not only receive and amazing and memorable gift but also provide a person with a learning opportunity. Hero & Creatives experience is much more than a photoshoot.
And for us, this story is so rewarding that we just want to keep working hard to make our artists and travelers happy! See you soon!
Give experiences, gives memories, give a new way to travel. Selfies are over!

âYou can discover entire Porto by walk. I came to Europe from China. I have been living in big cities like Madrid. For me Porto is a real treasure. I will never forget this experience and especially the people I met in Porto. I fell in love with this city." This was a small glimpse into Xiao's treasure hunting adventures in Porto. Diana in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Behind the image we receive from media and further fashion manufacturing situation, we actually can find a city of beautiful contrasts visiting the capital of Bangladesh. This time we share with you a full review from the photographer and the traveller.
And this is what Mafalda shared with us:
"Definitely Dhaka is not a tourism place, it is a city that can change the perspective of life that each one has. It happened to me and I believe, even just for day it has also changed Diana.
I would like to start thanking H&C for trusting me in this âmissionâ it was a great experience and even I went to places that Iâve never been before. Thanks to our driver and security Shabudin it was possible to go to more remote areas of Dhaka that would have been impossible without his presence.
After 2 years and a half living here, it is common to feel tired and missing friends and family ("as Saudades!"). Having Diana in Dhaka, being both Portuguese and from Porto, (even studied in same school!) it was really energizing and refreshing . Dianaâs good vibe also helped for a very pleasant day that I hope to repeat.
I got to be a creative tourist in Dhaka, something that I have never experienced before and that made me find out so nice and interesting places. The kindness and curiosity of bangladesh people made the experience much more unique and definitely unforgettable.
The many photos we took will help us remember this day. Hope you enjoy them! (Â I recommend everyone to be a Hero in Dhaka. You are really welcome to visit me!)"
Once again, thanks you Diana, for trusting us, for enjoying our project, for making us dream and allowing us to continue with this adventure. And many thanks to Mafalda as well, for the great work and the enthusiasm she showed about the project.

Teresa & Ălvaro in Venice
Venice, a walking, almost car-free and decadent look city, is the perfect destination for a couple of travel lovers. We already talked about them in our previous post. They were the couple who decided to make a special gift for their friends' wedding (Lara & Enrique in Sydney).  Â
The meeting point was Santa Maria della Salute, and Teresa planned this surprise for Ălvaro. Alessandro, one of our talented photographers in Venice, asked them if they would like him to invite another friend. They said yes, and this made our heroes feel more relaxed and enjoy the experience meeting one more local while walking around the city.Â
Some visited spots were San Marco square, Acqua Alta lybrary, St. Mary Square and Rialto Bridge:
- "That's probably the most little and insignificant bridge in venice but it doesn't matter from where you look at it, it's always beautiful" - wrote Alessandro about the photo of Alvaro & Teresa in that little bridge. And that is actually the Hero & Creatives spirit: not to visit only the most famous places, but to discover beauty in details.
We love the excited mood of our photographers about the project and we hope to continue with this incredible vibe between travelers and artists around the world.
To finish the review, we show you the kind of pic you will never need with this project: of course, a selfie! Where they are? We don't have any idea, but for sure they were having fun together! :)
