Allow me to introduce you to the Red-eyed Crocodile Skink.Ā Since these guys were recently discovered (mid to late nineties), there isnāt a whole lot that is known about them, but Iāll share a few facts with you here.Ā
These guys can grow up to ten inches in length, though the average is more like seven.
Theyāre pretty shy and choose to play dead as their defense mechanism.Ā
Other than geckos, these guys are one of the only lizards that vocalize. Their sound is described as a barking noise when theyāre in distress
Average lifespan is listed at around 6 yearsĀ
New Year, New Blog, New Plans
Hi everyone.Ā I Know I am not very active here anymore (at all)Ā But I just started a new blog that is invertebrate focused! I might be posting more than inverts over time though, but it will always be animal focused! NovaPods! I just made it the other night so itās a bit barren at the moment, but I will change that soon.Ā I wanted to share it here, because I Know a lot of people in the community like other types of animals here.Ā I do have someĀ ābigā plans this year, I plan on buying more isopods, millipeds, maybe even getting some centipedes and other insects.Ā Iāll be doing a lot on that blog in the coming months, so if youāre interested at all, give it a follow!Ā Iām also working on a webpage, but itās going to be slow going. I have it linked on the blog, but I might change it soon. I havenāt decided yet.Ā Also my instagram will be barren for a while until I can get a phone.Ā Uhm so yeah!Ā Iām also looking for blogs to follow there as well, so if you post about reptiles, fish, invertebrates, like this post and Iāll follow you on my new blog.Ā If you post similar content and follow me on my blog there, Iāll follow back as well from there. Powder Blue Isopods (Porcellionides Pruinosus). I have a few of these so far, I really like them. Theyāre a lot faster than the Armadillidium vulgare I have.Ā
Common RolyPoly (Armadillidium vulgare). The first two pictures are of the same individual, they are high yellow.Ā I separated them off with other high yellow individuals for selective breeding.Ā
