oh, the hell with it, I'll share that memory right now. and to go with it here is another self-pleasure snippet of my heart, for those who enjoy such things. (it's me, I'm the those)

anyway, I dated another woman a few years after the one I last mentioned, who was, let's say, a very high-functioning alcoholic - she could out-drink me three to one. we'd been out the night before, and when I woke up she was next to me in bed, lying on her stomach, still sleeping it off. I knew she wouldn't wake up anytime soon, and I had to go get online for my (remote) job... but first I took a minute or two to gently lay my ear down flat against her back. I couldn't help it...

I was just blissed out, listening to her quietly breathing and the slow, gentle thump-thump, thump-thump of her heart.

I think I had a sudden little wave of anxiety - worrying about the relationship, about work, about her health with how much she was drinking - but it all went away for a few seconds that seemed to last forever. we're both here together, we're both alive, your heart is beating and so is mine. nothing else could possibly matter.

it's been a minute. I think this whole cardiophilia thing is something that comes in waves for me, and it ebbed there for a while but is very much back now. here's a random, slightly coffee'd up minute of my heart beating, and another memory I thought of to share.

I was in a relationship a few years ago, it only lasted under a year but for almost the whole time it was one of those "pink fog" affairs where I (and I think she too) was just totally swept up in all the warm fuzzy feelings... we were sickeningly in love and we couldn't keep our hands off each other. it flared up quick and ended badly, but no sense getting into that.

anyhow, I was traveling more for work back then, and one of the little squishy things we did was to count the time until we saw each other again in heartbeats. I think I was the one who started it, not surprisingly - I did some very rough math assuming an average a little above resting, and I would text her while I was away: only 36,000 heartbeats until I'm with you. only 23,000 heartbeats until I kiss you. only 11,000 heartbeats until I touch you...

...and of course if I was alone in my hotel or somewhere, I would start daydreaming about feeling and hearing her heart pumping inside her, about what I could do to make it pump harder and faster, and my heart beating against hers... in many ways it wasn't a healthy relationship for me, and I don't want her back in my life again, but I get to keep those memories forever and nobody can take them away from me.

I was out of town when the stemoscope arrived and only really got to test it out recently.

so here is the sound of my heart while I experience pleasure. I wouldn't be here if I had not discovered how much listening to other people's heartbeats turned me on... but hearing my own heart in real time, loud and clear, beating faster and harder as I get closer, is a whole new intense experience.

I feel a weird kind of shame posting this because I know there are people who aren't into the sexual side of it at all, which I respect, but... well, maybe some of you know what I am talking about.
