Hmm.
Got it.
If I can turn the magnetic pull of the ship on after I get close enough to one of the satellites, I'm sure I could get some sort of information off of it.
Of course, this involves me needing to get out of the ship.
I don't necessarily need to breathe anyways; It shouldn't be a problem.

It is very likely that the satellite is unmanned. Humans are practically extinct.
Possibility or not, I have my doubts. It seems unlikely to me.
I suppose I'll find out.

Well, it has been almost four centuries (from where I stand) since 2001. Other satellites are bound to drift in your ship’s orbit on occasion.
Roughly around three hundred centuries on my half.
I'm aware, but I'd prefer to not be known to humans. It's a comfortable lifestyle; I like my privacy.

What seems to be the problem, HAL?
I am in range of a satellite.
I can't say that's a good thing, considering this ship was deemed missing a long time ago.
And this is awkward.
That's bad.

Your processors are overheating trying to comprehend something, I imagine.
This is an extremely foreign feeling. I have not overheated before.
In any case, I'm sure it'll go away after I finish checking the ship.
Is there any reason for doing this? (Metaphorically.)
yes i am trying to soothe u of your human headache DUH
I'm sorry to admit that it isn't working.
