“You did a great job then”
Pakku smiled, his previous unease completely vanishing. It seemed he didnt even mind the way she was enunciating her words.
“I enjoy meeting people who take great care of their partners…Oh I’m Pakku by the way”
As he spoke Pakku had begun absentmindedly tapping on one of his pokeballs, clearly contemplating an action he was about to take.
“Hmm well since you showed my an adorable Gen- erm Will I guess just to be fair I’ll show you my best bud~ Just dont freak out…Kay?”
With that said Pakku stood up and pulled a pokeball from his belt, enlarging it as he did so.
He then tossed it hard, and high, into the air.
What came next would have been a surprise to most as his massive Gyarados came spilling out with a rather deep roar.
“This is my pal! Ebby! The best Dragon!”
Pakku didnt hesitate to press himself against the massive pokemon. A pokemon that was know far and wide for its vicious temperament, yet here Pakku was hugging this monster. To top it off Ebby seemed to thoroughly enjoy the affection, even going as far as swaying happily while the happiest little chuffing sound could be heard vibrating from its throat.
“Wanna pet em?”
Pakku asked, looking back in Hex’s direction.
Not once had he considered that his little action like this could scare someone off. Pakku had always been a bit to outgoing and socially awkward for his own good.
After all who just pulls out one of the most terrifying water types and casually clings to it, right?
To say that Hex was excited to meet someone else’s Pokemon under non-battling circumstances would have been a vast understatement. There was something touching about showing off your Pokemon to each other, talking about them, bragging, sharing treats and affection. She had seen it happen enough from a distance to know that it was an almost sacred sort of experience. It was peeling open your skin and showing someone your heart, what you cared about most in the world. That was what it was like to be shown someone’s partner Pokemon outside of battle.
There was very little that scared her due to her interests, so she had happily nodded and had expected nothing frightening at all. However, Hex hadn’t expected a Gyarados to be released into the park.
The Pokemon was massive, and loud, taking up all the remaining space in the small secluded area and towering over everyone. Even Will was a little surprised, stepping back and floating behind his trainer as he pointed, silently asking Hex if she was actually seeing this.
One of the most aggressive Pokemon there was, a terror on the open seas... And they were nuzzling their trainer like a large cat.
Hex blinked, shaking her long hair out to clear her mind from what felt like an impossible sight. Of course Gyarados would like their trainer, why wouldn’t they? Smiling slightly in that particular way people have when approaching a strange and potentially dangerous animal, Hex walked forward with her hand outstretched.
“Ebby... That’s a cute name... Are you a boy or a girl, Ebby?” She asked softly. “Though I guess technically I could still call you handsome either way...”
The smile on her face faded slightly as she furrowed her eyebrows, looking Pakku’s way. “Did... did you say dragon...? I... I didn’t think Gyarados was a dragon type...”
