Hexestelle, A History
The Hexestelle Institute of New Magic– originally known as the Blackert-Blair Colledge for Witches before being renamed the Hexestelle Institute for Witches in 1651– is a private academic research institution located in New York, New York, established in 1641, whose history, influence, and wealth have made it one of the world's most prestigious places of magical learning.
Established originally by co-founders Adal Blackert and Blair Maria Lyle, Hexestelle is the United States’ second oldest colonial institution of learning. The early school trained young witches, and was originally believed to be the lesser female counterpart to Ilvermorny School of Wizardry (now called the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry), constructed two decades previously. Hexestelle’s curriculum and student body were gradually expanded during the 18th century, and by the 19th century Hexestelle had emerged as the central academic and cultural establishment within the USA. President Farai M. Barlow's (1822-1866) transformed the school and affiliated professional schools into a modern research institute, and adopted the suffix: of New Magic. The undergraduate college became coeducational in 1700, following the creation of a second witches school: Salem Institute of Extraordinary Magic.
Hexestelle Institute is organized into eight separate academic units— seven graduate and professional faculties and the undergraduate school— located on a 701-acre campus in New York City. A 488-acre property was purchased by founder Adal Blackert in 1628, four years after the founding of the city. An additional 200 acres were later donated by an anonymous benefactor, believed to be Lydia Rósach in 1641.The final 13 acres were the personal property of the Blackert-Blair family and were gifted to the school in Adal Blackert’s will in 1726. Despite the large campus, the school originated from the two founders and a starting class of only a single witch. The first classes took place in the living room of the Blackert-Blair estate, still under construction until 1644, and presently open to the public as a museum.
As New York expanded, drastic measures were implemented to conceal the campus from muggles. As such, Hexestelle boasts the most impressive anti-muggle wards and highest security system of any magical location on the planet. The entry way to the campus is located in the Empire State Building, which is cohabited by both muggles office workers and tourists, and wizarding administrators and students.
Hexestelle is a large, highly residential institute, with five undergraduate houses – each harboring multiple accommodations – and several postgraduate residencies. It operates several arts, cultural, and scientific museums, alongside the Rósach Library, one of the largest magical libraries, beaten only by the magical Bodleian Libraries located at Oxford University, and – some speculate – The Study Room also located at Hexestelle. Other campus landmarks include: The Empire State building, the Blackert-Blair Museum, the Technological Museum of Muggle Oddities, the Wandering Woods, the Haunted House, the Labyrinth, and many others.

The Study Room
The Study Room is a peculiar addition to Hexestelles’ campus, baring an unusual resemblance to the notorious Room of Requirements, located at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It’s a series of large, interconnected, library-esque rooms, filled with books covering any range of topics. While the rooms themselves don't change to accommodate the desires of the user, the books have been known to shuffle themselves around, presenting a student with the information they seek. For these reasons, the Study Room is regarded as the largest and most encompassing library within the global magical community.
However, the Room is legendarily fickle. It grants few students entry and even fewer professors; though once you have been admitted, you may return at any point during the remainder of your life.
Rumor has it, that the Study Room is a result of students trying to recreate the Room of Requirements. While the same magic is in place that allows an entire room to fit into a broom closet, the Room appeared all over campus, and rarely opens in the same location twice.

Felicitas (Felix) Dragonridge
Hi, I’m Felix!
I’m one of the few technically international students here, all the way from Australia. My mum’s British American, my dad’s Aussie.
I’m House Viana, which is good, cuz red really is my color.
My best subjects are DADA, and transfig. Also pretty damn good at inventing spells. Not so good at that whole charms thing, though.
I’m pretty involved in the dueling club, so if you know me from there, I’m only a little bit sorry for punching you in the face when you disarmed me. I’m also the head chaser on House Viana’s quidditch team, and on Hexestelles’ team.
So, yeah! Come say hi!
P.S. Yes, you can try use my wand. Yes, I will absolutely laugh when you set yourself on fire like an idiot.

Hello all, My name is Elizabeth Stanton. If you need any help feel free to come to me, and should you have any issues with other individuals in the school I’d be glad to help resolve any problems. I enjoy attempting new things and filling in for various clubs, and my current best subject is Ancient Runes so if you need tutoring you could come to me. I’m currently interested in Arithmancy so if you’re willing to be pestered with questions or discussion contact me. It might take me a little while until I can respond to your requests as I am currently busy, but I will do my best to reply quickly. I’m looking forward to some wonderful times with you all!

I came back with an 8059 theme pack in celebration of Yamamoto’s birthday!! Heavily inspired by (and featuring the writing from) Meet Me Halfway by pectus-pectoris. It’s an old 8059 (nc17 btw) fic but I love it to bits.
