Peace, beloveds. Coming back to my own energy has been…interesting to say the least. I can’t quite out it into words because it is not logical…it is a feeling that human English language has yet to create syllables for. But there is this longing, an ache to return. To keep returning to me. To keep returning to the lands from which my people come. The blood of my Ancestors that course h the rough my veins call me, telling me to remember. Two years ago I divined that I was Igbo, a year later 23&me confirmed that I am 48.8% Igbo to be exact. The wisdom in me has never lied. I just have to create space for it. Last year my life fell apart and I almost died many times, maybe I actually did. But the life I was building had to be destroyed in order for me to remember my purpose. And that is to help Black people liberate themselves. I averted my gaze from The Divine and turned it toward man, toward human things that didn’t satisfy me the way I thought they would. So the illusion had to be shattered in an almost violent way for my vision to return. And as I flow back into the embodiment of freedom, I can feel the pull and the cradle of my foremothers. They beckon me to return. They beckon me to learn. They beckon me to tap in. While I know my purpose, I understand the assignment, there is something much bigger to my life than I have the intelligence to understand. I admit that this is terrifying as much as it is liberating, but I’m here for the ride.
