one thing about me is i hate a pdf. let me reflow the goddamn text. change the text size. put it in a nice font if i want. stop making posts about loving a proprietary format created by adobe. support open formats. this is an epub fanblog. get calibre. every single ebook app supports epubs. even kindle has given in and started supporting epubs. free yourself from the tyranny.
You are who I was thinking of when the museum I worked in agreed to publish a researcher's paper on our website, and I insisted that in addition to making the PDF downloadable, each chapter of the publication would also have its own web page where the text is text and the images are set in amongst the text and the design is responsive to the device's screen.
Because trying to read a PDF the shape of a piece of paper on a phone screen is pure death to PDFs.
In this day and age, if you have to publish some kind of text as a PDF, make at least two versions: one to be used as paper and the other to be used on a phone (so basically if you are making it on Word, zoom out until the paper is about the size of a phone screen and then adjust font size accordingly), or maybe even a third one to be read on a computer screen, so like, wide instead of tall.
thank u for fighting the good fight comrade.

Technology is amazing. I can in REAL time, FROM my office, THROUGH my cat camera, watch my cat chew on a water bottle she is not supposed to have.
Technology is amazing. I can in REAL time, FROM my office, THROUGH my cat camera, yell at her to stop doing that. This is not enough persuasion for her to actually stop.

why is privacy so eroded. I get treated like a nutcase if I say no, I don't want strange companies taking pictures of my home and putting them online for maps or whatever. I don't want to be in the background of your tiktok, and I think it's weirder for you to assume I'm okay with it than it is for me to politely ask you to refilm it so my face isn't in the frame. I don't enjoy handing my employer a list of every online account I have and feeling under surveillance when I'm just shit posting or sharing pictures of my cats or garden harvest. I don't want to hear your private calls on speaker on the bus, esp when the person on the line doesn't know you're broadcasting their words to strangers. I don't want an algorithm guessing what will piss me off the most so I spend more time online, engaging with shit I don't want to see or hear out of outrage. I don't want any of this. it's total ass.
