I have patreon supporters now? This blog has been inactive for a while. I do appriciate the money, but you probably don't want to be donating to a dead blog. I don't know how to issue refunds, but Patreon probably has a process for such things. If you want to be refunded for your trouble, feel free to ask Patreon, I wouldn't mind.

fake edit: A google seems to show it's still in active development as of this month. Its taking them a while. I know its a small team But Yeah.
Has anything happened with the Sims 5?
fake edit: There's rumours, but they seem unreliable. One algo-article suggested it would be released in australian autumn 2022, which has just ended today lol.
We're getting to the stage where ts5 could snipe Paralives lol. who will win.

I got into Modded Minecraft for a bit. I enjoyed downloading modpacks. I think its a shame the Sims community isn't so hot on such things. I understand why they wouldn't be, and why the community developed this way over 20 years. I don't understand from first-hand experience, but I can mentally synthesise something together from "modding drama" and "livejournal flame wars". And That's Life (Retail CD-ROM filled with free TS1 mods lifted off the internet, with no compensation to the original mods creators), too. I get the appeal in fan-made stuff packs, but it would be cool if modpack stuff packs could be made. Is that controversial? I don't want to start a flame war of my own, I'm just spitballing.
I've learned some more things about Blender. And it all started with ts4. It's pretty magical. I could probably make some above-mediorce CC now. Maybe. I don't know.
Well that's it for this year.
I consider becoming active again sometimes, but tbh being inactive has been way better for my patreon balance lol (ok this is a joke).
i wish EA would release all their IPs the Sims 1 and 2 into the public domain. imagine what modders could do to improve the Sims 1 and 2, and what assets and code from the Sims 1 and 2 could do to improve other games.

@littledica has found a way of enhancing in-game textures that was capped with one of the recent updates. Head over to his post HERE on patreon to edit your GraphicsRules.sgr to let it go back to how it was before the update! NOTE this blurry texture also happens when you play on ultra!

I get that there’s almost two decades of precident and flame wars which explain why The Sims CC community is how it is. And there’s also good reasons why it’s different than other games modding communities. So you don’t need to explain to me why things work the way they do.
But I mean.
I wish modpacks were a thing in the Sims community it would be so much easier oh my god..
