Tell us more about your artistic career. how did you get so good at drawing?
Career... I wished anon... I appreciate the thought tho <3
I'm self-taught, not by the internet, but by books! I was quite angery in my teenage years, everything is here and there for the hearing world. I found an alternative: books. I studied them from head to toe and improved a lot in 3 years.
I bought my first tablet for 30€, a Wacom Bamboo tablet (model CTH 670) a year ago. I can't take art more serious than a hobby because I don't have the courage to live of that in my country sooo... Yeah. And don't expect much of my digital side, I know how to block layers and paint lineart in other colors, that's literally it.
Oh! I don't want you to read this and don't get some "Dani gets honest" hour.
Please don't feel overwhelmed with your art, it's normal, you want to improve and everyone is telling you to "practice" or you always compare your art online, there's no need.
Look, just enjoy what you are doing, we are on the same boat, is difficult to get rid of "oh, but what would people think of this?" "Is this cool enough?" This mentality needs to begone friend, think of what you are doing as a little kid, you draw out of pure joy, with a grain of salt depending of how you want your art to be viewed to the masses, I know it's difficult but nothing is impossible.
And if you want a little boost/improvement in your art? Go for figure drawing, get 20 minutes of your time and practice a bit! You don't know where to find classes for figure drawing? I've got you covered! There's a site called Croquis Cafe (warning +18 NSFW, there's nudity) This site has MANY resources + they automatically timed their videos so you don't need to adjust it (or cheat hehe)
But why figure drawing you may ask? Because that's the heartbeat of your art, when you do this little practices you are improving as a unit, no need for studying things separately. Your brain learns shapes, dimensions, flow, etc. I didn't bother studying hands or feet at all, but I think they came of (weird) really good for not studying these in my life, and that's all thanks to figure drawing.
