Till Lindemann : I believe in karma. I want every person who has done something bad in this world, to be rewarded according to his actions. Belief in karma helps me to overcome bad periods not only in my personal life, but also to be more comfortable with the nasty events taking place in the world. I believe in ultimate justice, in that which will be rewarded according to his deeds.

This answer from Till is very interesting.

According to the “Dictionary of Symbols: myths, dreams, customs, gestures, shapes, figures, colors, numbers ” by J. Chevalier & A. Gheerbrant, Karma (or Karman) is a :

“Sanskrit term (root K.R.: “to do”) expressing the chain of causes and effects, which guarantees the order of the universe. An ethical meaning is added to the cosmic sense: human acts are inevitably linked to their consequences and these result in situations, for which the perpetrators of these acts were responsible, in this life or previous lives. In the Vedic era, the Karman included a ritual, testifying to the awareness that whatever happens is to be understood as just retribution. Everything takes place in a duration, which exceeds and encompasses the time of an individual existence: …Men are heirs of their deeds, says the Buddha… What we intend to do and what we project and what we are concerned with, that is what the consciousness is based on to establish itself… From there arises this entire mass of pain. The Karman depends in definition on consciousness. A grand vision that combines human freedom with the order of the universe and links the physical and the moral in a coordinated whole. There is cosmic determinism only for ignorant consciousness.“

It’s interesting on Till’s part to talk about Karma, because :

• Firstly, it proves that he is more spiritual than he seems — in another interview, he mentions the philosophical notion of vitalism. And I like the idea that he reads things like that, a little philosophical, a little spiritual and a little esoteric… ;

• Secondly, I wonder if he — he who sees himself as a modern Quasimodo, both monstrous and tragic, and who thinks he is someone bad — expects to suffer this “ultimate justice”, in this life or in another… ? ;

• And third, who says Karma, says past lives… and I wonder what were Till’s previous lives ?
