What do you mean his buddy ol traveling pals aren't actually with him? He sees them! Definitely not haunted by guilt as the only survivor.

I am SO happy how Prometheus turned out! Seriously, every little detail is just SO GREAT.

Interesting. He has been here for a while, but still has no information about The Stars. Zodyl had theorized that time was a factor in how one reunited with their power. Prolonged existence in this environment would lead towards understanding their captors. If that was not entirely correct, then he needed to seek deeper answers.

" Then, I will ask you this instead:

What do you know? Anything you could share about this place, its inhabitants, and the limitations placed upon us is useful. "

It takes Prometheus a moment, but once he's gathered information that he knows, he relays his knowledge to Zodyl. It's a lot more information than Prometheus had expected to come out of his mouth. Perhaps he knew more than he thought.

"Have you been to the archive?" He then asks. "I believe there are some lore about this place. At least some insights that the Stars are willing to share."

"The Goddess who saved your life..."

A complex series of emotions flitted across Lorene's face. As if by instinct, as if by an impulse that he couldn't control, he reached up and clutched something through his tunic--an amulet, nestled under his clothes, pressed against his chest. An amulet which, when hidden by his tunic, no one could perceive the fact that it glowed.

He could relate.

"He's very special, then." There was a profound sense of gravity to his words, quiet though they were. The Elf knew. He knew. "Earrings that can summon him...those are very special artifacts, then, too. Enchanted items like that are incredibly rare where I'm from--they'd have to be a gift from a god or goddess, nine times out of ten, to even exist."

"...A goddess saved my life once, too. A star goddess--Polaris, the North Star." He didn't really want to ask--what had the moon goddess saved this Tiefling from? And he didn't really want to tell, either--what Polaris had saved Lorene from.

It was nice, though, to meet someone who understood--what it meant to owe your life to the divine. The weight of that fact upon your soul.

Prometheus knows the look behind Lorene's eyes. He understands what the tiefling said and must have gone through something similar. "Yes. He is my most trusted," he smiles at Moondust, who brushes his little cheek against Prometheus'.

"You sound as if you hail from the same realm as I." Though their world may be similar, he doesn't think Lorene is actually from the same place as him. Wouldn't that be nice if they shared the same world together?

"Goddesses and gods....They come at such strange times, don't you think?" Prometheus's loyalty would always lie with the moon goddess.

War doesn't mind as the small creature climbs up towards his shoulder; as he is focused on his companion instead. There is something inside him urging him to reach out and envelope Prometheus in his arms, but such an action would be unbecoming of a horseman. Wouldn't it?

No that wasn't it. It was more complicated than that.

Well, regardless. He steps up to his friend and gives him a slight nod of the head. "...I returned some time ago. I apologize for not contacting you sooner."

"No--No, you have nothing to apologize for," Prometheus says with a breathy laugh. "It is so good to see you again. Though I suppose it is a little sad. You are once more far from home." He doesn't know what kind of world War came from, but maybe War missed the people there?

"Ah, it....It also saddens me to tell you that Agathis was returned home. He has yet to return." Perhaps it was for the best?

iloren shifts uncomfortably on his feet now that his injury is getting attention. he doesn't really care about scrapes and bruises. getting fretted over is unavoidable when you're the inquisitor and the world relies on your survival. that doesn't mean he has to like it.

' a healer's clinic, you mean? i don't know. ' he does know, he just doesn't want to say. ' i don't know the healing methods here. i'm used to getting stitched up— i can do it myself later. it's really no big deal. '

he glances at the dragon still vigilantly watching him. what a ferocious beast. small, but dangerous. ' not to insult moondust. ' iloren bows his head to the dragon as well, a show of respect. ' you fought well. '

Moondust seems rather proud of how he looks, like he puffs out his chest and blows out a small ringlet of smoke into the air. Damn right he fought well! He'd protect Prometheus through THICK AND THIN.

And if he were to speak, he'd probably say something along the lines of: " You're lucky I'm not a large dragon! "

"I know of quite a few people who has the ability to heal." He's sure Iloren isn't new to people being able to heal with magic alone!

"But if you are fine, then I will not be too concerned." He just hopes Iloren tends to it sooner rather than later. That bite may end up being a nasty scar, after all.

Sweets always made his thoughts drift toward Lynette. As twins and stage partners, it was common for the two to take care of their diets in order to maintain similar physiques. Even so, it was impossible to turn down a sweet treat after working so hard together.

I just hope she’s doing well, wherever she may be… - Lyney’s thoughts wandered for a moment, but, not wanting to dwell on the subject, the magician tried to refocus on what Prometheus was saying. "Hah, I knew you wouldn't let me down~" Lyney teased, his smile widening. "Lead the way, mon cher. Now you’ve definitely made me curious."

Starting to walk, Lyney turned his face slightly toward Prometheus, speaking perhaps more than he should have, simply because he had been given the space to do so.

"Good question. The cakes from my homeland are truly divine. One of them, in particular, is made in limited quantities, so getting the chance to taste it is quite special. But I’d say that fruit also makes any dessert taste even better…"

Limited quantities, huh? It reminds him of some of the pastries back in his little town. Savory and yet sweet, the perfect kind of blend. "Perhaps we will be lucky to find somewhere we are going." Prometheus smiles and nods agreeeingly. "I find that any sort of berries are perfect on desserts. What about you?"

They're headed to Star Trail, where goods from other worlds can be found!

it's not good news to hear that there are demons around. the idea of spirits doesn't unsettle him as much— ever since cole joined the inquisition, and iloren's conversations with solas, his mind has changed on the matter. he listens to his people. meeting a spirit from thedas may not require his weapon.

but demons. demons, he'll have to try and kill.

he doesn't bring it up in the here and now. he still doesn't have a proper weapon. the fact that he attacked prometheus got him injured and while he doesn't care terribly about the bite in his arm, leaving it unattended, he knows it'll be difficult to kill an actual demon without his greater abilities.

it's not as stifling a thought as he assumed. he'll simply have to work to regain what he's lost.

' prometheus and fiyero, ' iloren mumbles quietly. the description is striking enough for him to remember. ' you've given me plenty of information. i'll make sure to not harm your friend. '

"Thank you."

Fiyero was a dear friend, and he would hate for her to have to go through what he did because of a misunderstanding. Now, golden eyes acknowledge the bite on Iloren's arm. "There is a clinic not far from here if you'd like to get it checked. Moondust is also powerless, at the moment, but he still packs a mean bite." As Iloren finds out for himself. It was a good thing in this moment that Moondust didn't have poison on him to worry about. The bite would have been much worse if it were the case.

he's quiet for a moment. solas had taught him much on the matter. he doesn't know enough to answer the question definitively, but his experience with rifts has left him somewhat jaded.

' all i've met, yes. they're malicious spirits. i'm not sure of their origin. '

he remembers cassandra's words of caution when they'd taken cole in. she'd called him a demon too, but the young man was never malicious. only struggling. ' there are spirits i call friends. even if you were a demon … i'm always open to learn. the opportunity is appreciated. '

he's veered into sounding like the inquisitor again, diplomatic explanations of relations in his world. he catches himself in it, shifts on his feet.

' how would i spot a … tiefling? '

"I see. Then, it is right that I did not attack." Like he said, Iloren had his reasons for attacking when he did. It made sense that he would if the demons he met weren't great.

"You will find some here, unfortunately. Demons, spirits...all sorts." It was something he felt he needed to do. Warning, at least give Iloren something so he'd be extra careful.

"Well," he begins when Iloren asks his question. "Some of them look like me. Some look like a fellow tiefling here by the name of Fiyero, all pink with soft eyes. Some of us don't share all the familiar traits, but we almost always have our tails and horns. You may even catch a scent from us. Brimestone and sulfur. Mmm, there are not many that look like me from my world, at least."

The trick was rather simple, yet it always elicited such adorable reactions that it made Lyney think that it never got old. Letting out a sound of contentment that was mirrored by a widening smile, the magician allowed Prometheus to take the flower, practically humming. "The pleasure is mine~"

He admired him for an instant, but then added.

"You know, I tend to work up quite an appetite after a performance. I think something sweet would hit the spot… How would you feel about joining me? To be honest, I don't know many places around here, but it would be lovely to have your company ".

"Oh, of course! It would be my treat and honor to show you some places." He had a sweet tooth, and that meant knowing the ins and outs of the best places in Spirale.

"I know just the perfect place. Dare I say, it is something of a magical place?" Prometheus smiles and gestures for Lyney to follow. As if he couldn't contain the excitement of joining someone for some sweets, his tail sways happily behind him.

"What kind of sweets do you like?"

" There is a level of fear that encourages safer interaction with your surroundings. A heightened sense prevents us from wandering into traps, both obvious and less so. It helps you avoid injury. If it's balanced with a useful amount of curiosity, navigating unknown territory is not so difficult, " Zodyl muses.

" Given that you look in tact, " he glances the man up and down.

" I presume you try to stay out of the trouble of others. Your partner here, " the void gaze shifts to the tiefling's dragon, " must help you to a degree. "

Prometheus Zarvos. He commmits that name to memory.

" My name is Zodyl Typhon. I'm seeking individuals who can give me information about The Stars. "

"Aye. The initial thought when seeing my kind is to distrust us." He already looked imposing, and he didn't like adding to people's stress. It is why he tried to make himself seem a little smaller.

"Moondust is a friendly creature, so he helps quite a bit to ease people's worry when they interact with me." Zodyl didnt seem too worried.

"Ah. The stars only share what information they wish. I'm afraid there is not much I know, and I have been here a moment."

it should probably go unmentioned that iloren has killed his own fair share of dragons. not for the sake of hunting like orlesian nobles like to do. but if the animals settled somewhere they hurt people the inquisitor would take it upon himself to rid them of this rather massive problem.

prometheus seems attached to his own. iloren feels a bit sheepish about it.

he instead focuses on the tiefling's answer— hears it and thinks on it a moment before nodding and squeezing prometheus' hand in their shake, letting go.

' a noble reason. it's easier to respond to violence with violence. you've certainly gained yourself a favour. '

"I was not always this way," he admits, a little embarrassed. If he had been much, much younger, he would have fought back without hesitation. The thought of it has him mentally grimacing and shaking his head at the thought of it all.

"However, I am relieved that the misunderstanding has been cleared. Moondust finds himself back on Prometheus's shoulder. His tail wraps around the tiefling, and those big reptilian eyes are focused on the gentleman. Ah, Moondust is a friendly dragon, but the grudge is hard to let go!

"Are all demons in your world evil?"

"The pleasure is all mine, my new, flashy acquaintance!"

He gives a grand gesture that finishes with thumping his good hand on his chest. A radiant grin on his face. Seems like his energy fails to quiet down in any circumstance. Such an explosive personality never ceases or ebbs completely.

"Have I been here long? No, not at all. But that won't hold me back. I've got friends. I've got gumption. And I've got tenacity! Nothing will stand in my way of making a fulfilling retirement here."

It's a breath of fresh air. The energy reminds him of Raheem. How he misses that sunshine with the biggest smile. He was the glue that held his travel companion together!

"This is a lovely place for a retirement," He reassures with a nod. "You will meet all sorts of people and experience things you have yet to back in your realm." He's sure as hell has!

"perhaps this is the beginning of our friendship."

Trash beasts took on many forms. Some of them mimicked naturally occurring animals that roamed the Ground. Others took on more mythical appearances. All of them were pretending to be something that they weren't: living, organic life.

So when Zodyl has his first look at the creature perched by the equally unusually looking man, it brings him to pause.

Was there any limit to what he would stumble upon in this strange world?

" Yes. Very unique, I have not seen anything like that before, " his attention shifts from the little beastie, to the man himself and his swishing tail.

" Nor anything like you. "

"A strange realm, wouldn't you agree?" Prometheus asks with a smile. "I have been here for a while now, and yet, I still find myself lost and confused with the different beings that I meet day to day." And sometimes, he found himself a bit overwhelmed.

"It is a bit both frightening and fascinating at the same time."

"Prometheus Zarvos," the tiefling introduces himself. "This one here is Moondust. He is a dragon."

His expression softening further as he watches them... had they prompted this? They were sure they had kept their flat affect, one hand rising to pat at its face- ah. It seemed that ever since their resolution in the inn, keeping their expressions under check was more challenging. Sometimes they really thought about trying to disable their empathy module again, but... it felt disingenuous to what they'd gone through and learned with their doppelganger.

They flatten their expression. Enough worrying.

"THEY ARE UNPREDICTABLE."

Now its focus turns to watch J1-M1 again, the same small smile it had just chased away returning as it observes its pride and joy. The little drone bobs lightly at being batted, hovering a bit further away for a few seconds as he checks WX-78's reaction - he hadn't felt pain, but did his caretaker know better? Soon, he decides that the little dragon wasn't dangerous and returns to hover closely.

"HE IS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT. FOR THE TIME BEING HE SERVES AS MY BIO SCANALYZER."

They reach a hand toward their little one, him quickly flying back to nuzzle in against it.

"WHEN HIS MIND IS STRONGER I WILL BEGIN WORK ON UPGRADING HIS FORM."

"HOW HAS..." It tapers off, a light frown tugging at its faceplate. There it goes again, feeling things. "HAVE THINGS BEEN ADEQUATE?" Is that distant enough?

Prometheus takes a seat finally. It didn't matter where he sat as long as he was at an equal-enough height with his friend. He at least considered WX a friend, despite their brief meeting earlier. He wonders if maybe one day WX-78 would come to see him the same way. He hopes so!

"Might I ask what is a bio scanalyzer? I look forward to seeing what more you have in store." Prometheus loved learning new things, and he was always happy to see people doing what they loved! It's so clear that WX saw this little creation as his pride.

Now, followed by his friend's question, Prometheus exhales a soft sigh. It warrants a worried trill from Moondust, who briefly brings his little blue eyes to his companion. Prometheus smiles at the pseudodragon, which then prompts the dragon to focus back on the machine.

"One of my dear friend has returned to his homeworld. I do not suppose it is something I will get used to. How about yourself? With everything that happened...are you okay?"

"Prometheus, eh? What a remarkable name" - Lyney praised, smiling as he added. "And I am Lyney, the great magician from… Well, it hardly matters where, since no one here has ever heard of Fontaine." His tone suggested he was making a joke.

Patting down his clothes, the magician appeared to be searching for something. Finally, he looked back at Prometheus. And just like that—moving one hand close to the other man's ear—Lyney made a flower appear out of thin air. "Here, it seems it was hiding on you," he said, offering it to him as a gift.

"Thank you." The tiefling was rather proud of his name. After all, what wasn't there to be proud of? His parents thought carefully about what they wanted to name their firstborn!

Lyney would also be correct that Prometheus didn't know anything about Fontaine, but that didn't mean he wasn't curious.

He sees Lyney reaching for his ear, and in reflex, Prometheus tilts his head just enough. He's curious, but not for long when golden eyes takes note of the flower Lyney had magically appeared.

"How did you---..." He takes the gift with a smile, "Thank you, Lyney. It will be something I cherish!"
