His big head shakes 'no', but he seems a bit flattered at the suggestion! Walk with him, Aurelius, it's a nice night out.
"I'm not, nope! I've said before that I used to be the TV in the living room, but this form--where I can actually move around--it's from the Dark World. It's a little bit like where Shadow comes from, but that's not the point here. My family only knew me as an object--which I was okay with! But..."
The proud little puff in his chest deflates pretty soon.
"...Truth is, I'm not really a new piece of technology. You've seen 'em yourself, all these plasma flat-screen HD LG-whatever everyone has now. I really tried to stay relevant, for Kris, for Toriel. But even she got bored of me. What good's a TV if I don't have anything anyone wants to watch, right...?"
...
"She wanted to throw me away, if I'm being honest. The Lightner that gave me meaning, and purpose, and loved having me around for those good long years. That's what Darkners... do. We serve the Lightners in our lives, and they take care of us. We're not people like you all are. So in a weird way, when you say that you feel useless, and forgotten, and unwanted. I know how that feels."
...
"When that person, her family, is your whole life, and you let them down. It's horrible, isn't it."
A heavy sigh blows some dust from his vents.
"...But when I was at the lowest point I could go, a girl told me that it didn't matter that I didn't work the way I was supposed to anymore. That, somewhere, someone would want me. And she promised to find me a new home. I left the night she made that promise, but I believe her with all my circuitry that she'll keep her promise. An old, broken, beat-up TV like me."
He finally turns to the other, slight smile on his screen.
"...Here is kind of like another home, though. You've got people here that are important to you too, right? Friends, family?"
...
"When you feel like the person that gave you meaning doesn't want you anymore, keep those people in mind. They're the ones that are with you in the dark."
