just have to contra spem spero through all of this
The word "Nazi" has a specific meaning to normal people, but to vatniks and tankies it has five basic meanings…. "anybody I don't like" "anybody who disagrees with me" "anybody who's a citizen of a country that Russia wants to invade" "anybody who opposed or simply didn't want to live in one of the tyrannical regimes I simp for" "anybody who was oppressed or killed by one of my favourite mass murderers" EDITED TO ADD: a tankie clown reblogged this post and made some typically asinine comments, so I thought I'd elaborate a little bit…. Tankie clown: @well1x is either referring to the fact that a lot of the "deaths under communism" listed in "the black book of communism" (which gives us the 10 million number or whatever) are quite literally Nazis in WWII, or they're referring to the fact that the only people who have been made to deliberately suffer under communism have been literal Nazis and fascists (generally speaking)
Joining the tankie cult requires you to live in a delusional clown world and believe in a shit ton of made up (and often contradictory) nonsense that requires a considerable repertoire of mental gymnastics (and lies) to maintain….
@well1x is literally trying to claim that all victims of communism are "Nazis and fascists", which - back in the real world - is a very obvious lie. It's also a blatant example of victim blaming. For example, most of the millions of men, women and children who were robbed, raped, imprisoned, sent to the gulags, tortured, starved to death, executed or ethnically cleansed by Stalin's henchmen were not Nazis or fascists, and many were innocent of any crime. The vast majority of the population in Stalin's Soviet Union also had to put up with crippling backwardness and poverty, the brutal suppression of their religious and community life and the total lack of freedom. Tankie clown: Karina then shows an image of (presumably) some kids in the Ukraine famine. This is completely unrelated though because this famine was not manufactured by the USSR as say the Irish famine was by the English. Can't really attribute natural disaster to "muh communism"
Again - a typical genocide-denying tankie lie.
Tankies generally start by saying that the holodomor was Nazi propaganda, and when you debunk that they claim it was just a natural disaster, and when that doesn't work they make up some bullshit about how millions of farmers who barely had enough to live on were wealthy kulaks who burned crops and slaughtered cattle (and therefore deserved to die). And when you point out that the red army actually broke into their homes and confiscated all their grain, every cow or chicken or any other food they had, and that the Soviet authorities blacklisted villages, sometimes purely for containing relatives of Ukrainian independence fighters, and prevented the villagers from leaving, shot them for even collecting ears of grain from the fields, and watched them starve to death - tankies will just deny it, or laugh, or pretend that millions of holodomor victims were all rich landlords (and therefore deserved to die) etc etc….
I've also never seen English people pretending that the Irish famine never happened, or claiming that the victims deserved it, or that it was a good thing, or that Britain should re-conquer Ireland. On the other hand, it's difficut not to notice useful idiots for tyranny swarming all over social media every day denying or justifying the holodomor and other crimes of Russia and the USSR.
There's no point trying to reason with tankies using facts, logic or common sense - and appealing to their sense of decency while they're simping for their favourite mass murderers is a complete waste of time. Tankie clown: Karina then says @well1x is defending imperialism(???), defending ethnic cleansing (which …what??), dreaming about labour camps and mass shootings (for Nazis yes plz), and does not do any praxis (based on?).
Yep - most tankie clowns claim to be communists while simultaneously embracing Russian fascism, supporting the imperialism of Russia’s mega-rich ruling class, mindlessely repeating the Kremlin's propaganda and cheerleading their war crimes. These morons seem to have no idea that the Russian Federation is an empire made up of many conquered states that Russia invaded, occupied and colonised in the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, or that Russia's war against Ukraine is a brutal attempt to reassert control over one of its former colonies. Russia's history of imperialism is at least as bad as that of any western country - and they're still doing it in the 21st century.
And I have seen countless examples of tankies speaking openly of wanting to mass murder their ideological enemies (or people they don't like) - because they also delude themselves into believing that if their revolutionary dreams ever came true, they'd be the ones doing the arresting and killing, despite the fact that in a real revolution they'd be about as much use as a fart in a spacesuit. They also have no idea how their small dick energy is somehow going to bring capitalism to its knees, which they'd inevitably end up crying about if it ever actually happened in reality.
Most of them are complete losers who spend most of their time sitting in their bedrooms huffing their own farts while reading tankie fan fiction online - while also claiming to be against western imperialism and capitalism despite living comfortable lives in western capitalist countries and owing everything they have to capitalism, including their freedom to post anti-capitalist tantrums on social media platforms owned by western capitalists using their capitalist smartphones or laptops (thus contributing to the profits made by the aforementioned western capitalists) - which is generally the sum total of a typical tankie's - ahem - "revolutionary" activity. The vast majority of tankie clowns wouldn't dream of ever giving up the comforts of capitalism to move to one of the authoritarian shitholes they stupidly simp for, because then they might not be able to play their favourite capitalist video games anymore….
It's also a fact that Russia and the USSR have ethnically cleansed millions of people. Tankie clown: OP takes this insane train all the way to the station, and says @well1x is talking about anyone they don't like which… no. They're talking about the traditional Nazis.
No - they're falsely claming that all victims of communism are Nazis and fascists. Learn to read…. Tankie clown: But also let's break this down. Who does OP think is being called a Nazi? "anyone I don't like" I mean I don't like Nazis, but I don't think everyone I don't like is one lmao. Funny tho, dude throws around the word tankie until it has no meaning.
In my experience, if you disagree with tankies about anything, they will pretty soon call you a fascist or a Nazi. It's they who throw around words like "fascist" and "Nazi" until they have no meaning (and most of them hilariously claim to be opposed to fascism while simultaneously supporting it - if it happens to be Russian). Tankie clown: - "anyone who disagrees with me" if you disagree that all human beings deserve to live a dignified life regardless of race/sex/gender identity/sexual orientation/age/disability/whatever then yeah you probably are a Nazi
Straw man. See above…. Tankie clown: - "anyone who's a citizen of a country that Russia wants to invade" why the fuck are we talking about Russia? Believe it or not OP, USSR does not stand for "United Soviet States of Russia" lmaoooo
We're talking about Russia because most tankie clowns support Russian imperialism and mindlessly parrot the Kremlin's propaganda about how Russia's latest invasion of Ukraine is some sort of special de-nazification operation (see above). Tankies are generally so ignorant, gullible and stupid that they will literally believe anything the Kremlin tells them…. Tankie clown: - "anyone opposed or simply didn't want to live in one of the tyrannical regimes I simp for" tyrannical regimes lmao. These were only "tyrannical regimes" for people who actually were in fact Nazis.
Again - this is the kind of typical reality-denying nonsense I'd expect from a tankie clown. Back in the real world, these were tyrannical regimes for tens of millions of ordinary people who had done nothing to deserve being subjected to tyranny…. Tankie clown: - "anyone who was oppressed or killed by one of my favourite mass murderers" yeah basically that's what I've been saying.
Thanks for proving my point….
And please note that smoking weed on your mum's sofa isn't actually going to bring the world revolution closer.
That was just a joke…. 🤣😂
Although the international community has remained united in refusing to recognize Russia’s annexation of Ukrainian Crimea five years ago, it
The Glazyev tapes were first made public by Ukraine’s SBU [Security Service] in August 2016, with more recordings revealed during the trial (in absentia) of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. They appear to be intercepted telephone conversations between Sergei Glazyev, a senior adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin and various other figures, including Konstantin Zatulin, Director of the Russian Institute of CIS Countries who was declared persona non grata in Ukraine back in 2006 for activities linked with seeking Crimea’s secession from Ukraine.
The tapes unfortunately cover only a very small period of time – from 27 February to 3 March 2014. It is, however, very clear even from the conversations intercepted on those days that Glazyev and Zatulin were “financing” supposedly separatist protests in Crimea, Kharkiv, Odesa and Zaporizhya. The amounts of money mentioned are high enough to mean that this was no private venture on Glazyev’s part and easily enough to ensure a considerable number of paid ‘pro-Russian protesters’. It is equally evident that certain Ukrainian politicians (Vadim Kolesnichenko; Oleg Tsarev; Viktor Medvedchuk and Serhiy Kivalov), as well as one religious figure (Metropolitan Agafangel from the Orthodox Church under the Moscow Patriarchate) were, at very least, seen as allies.
On 27 February, for example, Zatulin mentions to Glazyev that he has already spent 25 thousand dollars, and that he needs a further fifty thousand by the next day. The money seems earmarked not only for Crimea, but for paying people in Kharkiv and Odesa.
Later that day, Zatulin reports that “we have financed Kharkiv, financed Odesa”. There are ‘applications’ from other regions, he adds, but that he’s put them on hold while the question of finance is resolved.
With regard to Crimea, Zatulin mentions that there are about six thousand people with Russian flags, and a few ‘talking heads’, but that two prominent pro-Russian politicians Sergei Aksyonov and Sergei Tskekov are nowhere to be seen. Glazyev uses vulgar language, adding: “and we fed them so much”. In the following conversation, it becomes clear that Glazyev does not support Aksyonov’s supposed ‘election’ as Crimean ‘leader’ on the afternoon of 27 February.
Of those six thousand pro-Russian demonstrators, it is likely that many were the ones brought in by coaches for a counter-demonstration to the 10 thousand-strong demonstration organized by the Mejlis (representative assembly) of the Crimean Tatar People on 26 February. It was that demonstration which almost certainly preventedv Russia’s plan of carrying off an apparently ‘parliamentary’ coup with pro-Russian politicians forcing through a ‘vote’ to change Crimea’s status.
One of the key ideas that Glazyev pushes during his conversations is that all ‘uprisings’ must appear to be from the local population. This had been the plan in Crimea on 26 February that the Crimean Tatars and other Ukrainians who gathered in support of Ukraine’s unity thwarted. The tapes show that the same attempts were planned in Odesa and Zaporizhya.
Taken in Donetsk in 1932-33, this photograph shows a “kulak” woman and her small child being evicted from their home in winter, dispossessed of everything but a small wagonload of their belongings pulled by hand behind them. Photo by Marko Zhelizniak.
This is the people tankies would want you to believe had the Marie Antoinette level of luxury. I wonder how many carts like those would be required to transport everything an average western tankie owns.
"This war was provoked by NATO's expansion!"
1990: East Germany technically joins NATO by reunifying with West Germany 1991: No NATO expansion 1992: No NATO expansion 1993: No NATO expansion 1994: No NATO expansion 1995: No NATO expansion 1996: No NATO expansion 1997: No NATO expansion 1998: No NATO expansion 1999: Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary are accepted into NATO after applying to join. Note that 10 years prior, those countries had all been under Soviet military occupation and that Russian irredentism wasn't exactly a nonexistent sentiment.
2000: No NATO expansion 2001: No NATO expansion 2002: No NATO expansion 2003: No NATO expansion 2004: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, and Bulgaria all join NATO after applying. Note that the first three of these were part of the Soviet Union, not by choice but by brutal military occupation, and they still share land borders with Russia and Russian politicians and media outlets were at this point making a lot of threats against them. Slovakia, Romania, and Bulgaria also have experience with Soviet occupation and reason to be worried by Putin. Slovenia, formerly a part of Yugoslavia, is nowhere near Russia 2005: No NATO expansion 2006: No NATO expansion 2007: No NATO expansion 2008: No NATO expansion but NATO does promise to consider Georgia's bid for membership (note - Georgia is a former Soviet state and, again, has a lot of good reasons for wanting to join NATO). Russia invades Georgia, preventing them from joining NATO, and commits ethnic cleansing of Georgians in the areas controlled by Russia and Russian-backed separatist groups. 2009: Albania and Croatia join NATO. Note that these two, like Slovenia, are nowhere near Russia 2010: No NATO expansion 2011: No NATO expansion 2012: No NATO expansion 2013: No NATO expansion 2014: No NATO expansion. Ukrainian President Yanukovych shoots down an association agreement with the EU because his friend Vladimir Putin was against it. Protests break out, police assassinate protesters, this does not stop the protests, Yanukovych flees the capital and later resurfaces in Russia, the Ukrainian government votes to impeach Yanukovych in absentia and holds democratic elections for their new president. American involvement in this was limited to trying to negotiate an agreement that would have left Putin puppet ally Yanukovych in power, and some American politicians talking to each other about it; this is somehow proof that the Revolution of Dignity was a CIA coup. Russia invades and occupies Crimea, then annexes it following a sham referendum and begins deporting the indigenous Crimean Tatars as well as suppressing Ukrainians and encouraging Russian settlers to move there. Russian-backed separatists take over part of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. 2015: No NATO expansion 2016: No NATO expansion 2017: Montenegro (nowhere near Russia) joins NATO 2018: No NATO expansion 2019: No NATO expansion 2020: North Macedonia (nowhere near Russia) joins NATO. North Macedonia borders three NATO member states, as well as Serbia and Kosovo. 2021: No NATO expansion. Russia begins a military build-up on the Ukrainian border, demands that NATO ban Ukraine from joining (despite the fact that NATO officials had little enthusiasm about the idea of Ukraine joining the alliance at this point), also demands the removal of multinational forces from CEE NATO members (and as a reminder, the last of the ones usually cited as a "provocation" had joined 17 years before this and had very good reasons to want to be in an alliance that could ward off a Russian invasion) 2022: No NATO expansion. Russia invades Ukraine, commits many war crimes and begins carrying out a genocide, carries out more sham referendums and annexes four Ukrainian oblasts (which they only occupy part of). Note that at this point Putin's views that Ukraine isn't a legitimate country and its existence was a mistake are things that he had already stated publicly and reiterated, and the sentiment was echoed by Russian politicians and media outlets 2023: Finland joins NATO in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Russian threats against Finland. Sweden petitions to also join, but their accession is blocked by a dispute with Turkiye
I guess North Macedonia joining NATO must have really pissed Putin off, huh?
Ukraine "is only the beginning," Colonel-General Andrey Mordvichev warned in a recent interview.
You can throw this interview at anyone who argues that this war is only about Ukraine.
Hesitate more, withhold crucial weapons from Ukraine more, giving Russia time to re-orient its economy, finding new footing - and Ukraine will become 1939 Poland.
"You were given choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour. And you will have war." © W.Churchill to then UK's PM Chamberlain, before 1939's attack on Poland, when Chamberlain thought he "met in the middle" with Germany and got Hitler to sign a non-agression agreement.
- Anne Applebaum. The Red Famine: Stalin's War on Ukraine
Musk too stupid to realise he's admitting to being a war criminal.
The "emergency request" was part of "close the sky" over Ukraine.
At that time, civilians all over Ukraine were dying IN HUNDREDS from ballistic missiles launched from those ships. As the allies were slow to provide anti-missile systems at that time and Ukraine lacked planes, our military were trying to find other ways to disable ACTUAL WAR SHIPS IN OUR OWN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED WATERS FROM MASS SLAUGHTERING US.
This is Musk plainly stating he is complicit in mass murder.
I'm seriously going mental over this Rus' and Russia distinction. The precise reason Peter the Great changed the name from Moscovy to the Russian Empire was to establish a direct connection to the rich history of Kyivan Rus' and assert the claim as the sole true descendant of the Rurik dynasty. His thought process went like this: to build a formidable empire, a strong historical foundation is needed. Moscow's ties to the Mongols were not as significant as the history of the Kyivan state, which prior to the Mongol invasion of 1240 was one of the most advanced in Europe and had numerous representatives in various ruling dynasties. Credit must be given; he succeeded in doing so. Even centuries later, I find myself reading, listening, and observing his actions in effect as Russians and Europeans, blindly following the centuries long lies, erase my country's and my people's history.

Cassavetes movies are really like here’s sadness, here’s guilt, here’s depression here’s anxiety, here’s loss, here’s heartbreak, here’s mental illness, here’s loneliness, here’s anger… here it all is. Now here’s love. It’s an underdog in this fight but it’s the most powerful tool you have. Use it to fight back and survive. Use it to live.
