I dont have much to say about the port carnelian other than I am glad that it seems theyve recently changed it to be a bit more obviously "this is bad and imperialism" when before the text seemed to imply before you got there that like, london doesnt have much power over here and the people who live here have way more power and rights and stuff so its basically fine.

Thats not related to this text at all though, because this is from before they updated port carnelian. It seems very likely the intent was always to depict an unjust colony, which enforces rules far more harsh upon people than would ever be acceptable in london. For example - crushing people with a giant rock without even a trial, ensuring that there is no chance of coming back.

Also of note is the fact that helping anyone in the colony or doing any sort of thing for you is directly penalized, so the best way to win is just to attend meetings and never actually "do" anything, and the way they are making people disgraced in the eyes of the court be governors because they dont care about having someone competent or fair or even with a good reputation, because the only concern is getting those sweet sweet sapphires back to london (and whatever other raw material they produce too)

This one is one ive contemplated a lot without ever really talking about it here I think. Its my biggest evidence for peckishness being (at least in large part) what eaten feels/wants, its his hunger you feel. "thoughts that arent yours touch your mind"

One of my joke voicecasts for Eaten (I dont assign text based characters voices seriously because they dont really sound like anything in my head anyway) Was the ps5 from the its me boy the ps5 meme, partly because of this

I wonder what the symbolism of the beer is supposed to be here. Either theres some sort of christian (or non christian) ritual involving that sort of thing, or its like... a degraded version of communion, instead of wine its cheap bad beer. Considering how eaten tends to be like ok you eat my heart during the christmas visit thing and the whole "eating candles" thing I wouldn't be very surprised if there was also something like that happening here as well.

Flowers are a bit more odd but they are valued by people and represent some longing for the sun and surface in the minds of those who were dragged down here so even without the symbolism of them being dandelions it makes sense. Also, Eaten is known to drink color, so that might appeal for that reason too.

Its interesting that there are candles burning under the water, considering that from what Ive seen most of the time Eatens presence is there its dark and like, theres something thats the worlds worst thing and you cant see it down there. Though of course its obviously still it, who else would have candles in the well and be the drowned man who is the protector of mutton island somehow?

Maybe the drowned man thing (They had better be the same guy) is like, a different.. faucet of him, like how gods have different aspects, and so in this manner of being he is capable of actually helping mutton island in return for their offerings and sacrifices.

Though on the other hand its probably more like a protection racket, you give me your things and I dont cause bad things to happen.

I wonder if, considering how much candles imagery eaten has, if any seekers have ever gotten tired of it and been like "ok mr "candles" " and then realized that thats the name they seek. I would be mad, personally

Obviously there is a large market for romance novels, so its not impossible to put a story about love into writing, but if you formally witness them, write it in legalize and include affidavits and exhibits doesnt that take all the interest and joy out of it? Is the point of love stories for the bazaar to have something thats interesting and good or something thats just true? I suppose judgements would value truth over anything else. (even though they themselves are terrible liers)

Interesting about the unterzees variations in levels though.. that lines up with what Ive heard of the first and second cities, and if its a long cycle then it could make sense, the first city was during a retreating phase, the second at its maximum low, the third in a returning phase and perhaps the fourth as well and then the fifth is (well, hopefully it cant get any higher) at the maximum high, like a thousands of years long tide cycle

Ohhhh I just realized in the chapel of lights they talk about three falls for presumably eaten and the weeping scars memories of chains and stains on your soul are those in like reverse order - getting killed badly like 77 times to become a well thing, the salt lions incident ™️ and ? Its sad the neath has no real geology, if its just a constructed pocket of space nowhere in particular. Its like there no real history to it, sure things have happened and its changed, but theres not billions of years of slow evolution behind its rocks, no fault lines or tectonic influence. What happens and happened with the people and creatures there, of course thats real, but the rest? Just like a concrete rock at a theme park. I dont think I would want to live there either, not that that particular idea matters to any of its residents.
