every time I see LGBTQ discourse I think about that post that said masc cis lesbians get kicked out of bathrooms as cruelly as trans people do so why the fuck are some lesbians transphobic , and I think about how homophobes won’t check for your sexuality before calling us slurs and I think about how my local dyke March considers anyone who identifies as a dyke a dyke because fuck rainbow capitalism we are here to fight for our lives and I think about how my best friends are bisexual and I think about how lesbians have been loving each other in ways that the gender binary has never been able to understand(and never will) and I think about that post that says the worst thing the right did was convince queer people other queer people were the enemy

Honestly aghast that this is even a point of discourse-

The gods are queer. Divinity is inherently queer- it is an experience which invades and evades our normative experiences of society and time and by that definition is inherently queer. You can’t “queer” them; they are queerness. This is what it is. On the contrary, it is deeply constraining and irrational to think of them within the cishetero patriarchal framework that was literally invented in the latter half of the last century. That is literally insane.

The people who complain about people “queering the gods” should either read actual queer history, critical analysis of sexuality, and queer theory or just say they’re homophobic and go.

also consider: queering the gods includes saying things like, "Apollo protects tboys and Artemis protects tgirls" or "Ares Gynaikothinas (trans. feasted on by women) is the god of lesbians"

i would argue that these same sentiments could be conveyed by saying, "Apollon & Artemis are trans," or "Ares is butch"
