your first and most pressing concern should be for the safety of black people. it should be for justice. it should be in making this not just a moment but a reshaping of cultural bias.

this is not a fun little game for you to trot around flipping off cops and making light of a situation you were never affected by. it is not your chance to have a little bit of adventure in the middle of a quarantine. i am speaking as an author and i am telling you to stop fucking making this about katniss or harry potter or whatever - you can be shaped by media, sure, but this is not and has never been about you roleplaying your favorite action heroes. this is not another “disaster of 2020″. this is not a quirky instagram post, it’s not a chance for you to meet up with your friends, it’s not a tactic to get your tiktok trending.

this is about racial injustice. this is about the entire system that is built on that injustice and grows fat on that injustice. don’t get distracted. the police force is not the only systemically racist organization.

black lives matter. and we do not stop until every organization recognizes that and actually acts on it.

Hey guys !! I wanted to something to give back to you guys and also to support a good cause. So I am doing a giveaway of eco-lifestyle !

I know a lot of people can’t go out to protest and show support for the BLM movement due to Covid-19 so this a way you can support the cause without leaving your home.

So for one the steps for the giveaway I am linking the petition that Color of Change has set up on their website. Color of Change is an organisation I have volunteered for and supported for the past few years and they are working along with many other organisations to dismantle the racist and unjust police system in America.

Here are some statements from their website about what they do and stand for:

As a national online force driven by 1.7 million members, we move decision makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for Black people, and all people. Until justice is real.”

“Color of Change leads campaigns that build real power for Black communities. We challenge injustice, hold corporate and political leaders accountable, commission game-changing research on systems of inequality, and advance solutions for racial justice that can transform our world.“

Hi, I wanted to share some Canadian-specific resources in support of the BLM movement. End the misconception that Canada is better than our southern neighbour, our history is plagued with the systematic oppression of the black and indigenous community and we must do better. Black Lives Matter. All cops are bastards, in Canada too.

As allies it’s essential for us to educate ourselves and support in every way we can. If you are unable to make it to a protest (and even if you have and want to further provide support) and have the means to do so, please consider supporting these Canadian black-led organizations/funds instead:

Donate to a bail fund: Some Twitter users are crowdsourcing lists of local organizations that help bail out protesters who get arrested. Thread here.

Support the National Police Accountability Project: This group, a project of the National Lawyers Guild, helps people find legal counsel. More info here.

Support Campaign Zero, a police reform group that has been working on policy solutions “informed by data and human rights principles.” More info here.

Sign a petition: Civil rights group Color of Change launched a petition asking that all the officers involved in Floyd’s death are brought to justice. Find it here.

Or another petition: The “Justice for George Floyd” petition on Change.org already has 8.5 million supporters. That sends a big message. Find it here.

Also, Happy Pride Month! To All of my LGBTQIA+ friends and followers, I hope you have a wonderful month. I know things are difficult right now but I have faith that things will get better. Specifically to my black queer followers please know that you are loved and appreciated.
