People of color lifting themselves deliberately comes as a response to centuries of white people being violent towards us and our cultures. And there’s an even stronger resurgence of that right now. That fact that you’re trying to make this a both sides issue shows that you don’t understand history. Being mean to white people =/= racism

I still don’t know why people are coming to me to learn about racism but here we go.

Racism can be defined in two major ways. 1: the belief that one’s own race is superior and has the right to dominate other inferior races. 2: the hatred or intolerance of another race or races.

Being mean to white people specifically because they are white is definitely racism. Being mean to black people specifically because they are black is definitely racism. Insulting, harassing, harming (and so on) any person solely because of the color of their skin is racism. And you, my friend, are guilty of racism.

It does not matter what happened in the past. Yes, you can definitely be proud of what your people have accomplished. I am too! It’s very inspiring to see people fight so hard for what they want and win. But the actions of your ancestors does not change who you are or what you have done. For example, you cannot fault a modern white American for slavery when slavery is illegal, they have never owned a slave, and you have never been a slave. It just doesn’t make sense.

There is a bit of a resurgence, you’re right. I’ve definitely noticed it here in the US. (I don’t know about other parts of the world, so I will speak specifically about the issue here.) People of color are trying as desperately as they can to collectively create a color majority and white minority. Why? I really don’t know. But they claim diversity is our strength so perhaps that’s it. Do I support this movement? No, I can honestly say I don’t. Why? Because everyone I’ve seen who supports it has made it known that they hate white people and want to see them fall. That, as described earlier, is racism. I would never side with racist people on an issue about race. Why? Because I’m not racist.

I love people. I don’t care about the color of their skin. I care about how their character, their beliefs, and how they choose to act on those beliefs. I do not care about their people’s past. I care about who they are now. I think everyone should. But I also understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so I do not try to force that belief on anyone else. I will state the facts in order to defend my belief, should others attack me, but I will not say it’s objectively better than anyone else’s.

I hope this has been informative. Apologies for the long post. (And big apologies to my followers who are just here for art and animation, not whatever this is. I really don’t understand why I’m the go-to person for this, but I don’t mind sharing.)

Stop congratulating yourself for being an imbecile and not understanding the difference between a white person saying they're glad they're not a person of color and a person of color saying they're glad they're not white. Thank you for asking! I would consider myself done with making AoT animations. I understand people would like me to do more, but after about 6 years of living in fandom, I’m ready to move on and make original content. I’m actually working on a short film right now! It’s still pretty hush-hush at the moment. I’ll be sure to post about it once the rough draft and character concept art is completed. Stay tuned!
