Because I'm a moron, and deleted the old pinned post instead of just unpinning it - I'm putting this back on your dashes. You're welcome ;).
Either way: this is the Hillerska Library, your one-stop-shop for YR fic writers and readers - where I track down all the YR authors on tumblr so you donât have to ;). Check out the author list, and follow to occasionally keep posted on all the new YR fic!
Fics are tagged by title, author (i.e. tumblr and/or ao3 handle without dashes or underscores), fic length, stage of completion, ... Main pairings are also tagged as âfirst name character a x first name character bâ (in alphabetical order) (i.e. "simon x wilhelm" and not "wilmon")
Sometimes I reblog more general things for author and/or readers, other times people come here to look for lost fic, and I've even been known to host events! Or well, one event, at the very least, but it was a VERY good Young Royals Week and you should definitely read all of it ;).
However, mostly I reblog fic. Tracked tags include #young royals fic, #young royals fanfic, #young royals fanfiction, and #hillerskalibrary (I try to keep up with #young royals as well, but on busy days I donât always make it to the end), and I follow all authors I can find.
Happy reading!

How are we up to chapter 7 of The road not taken looks real good now already?? Anyway, you'll be pleased to learn that Simon is BACK!! And things are maybe a tad... awkward?
Simon's friends decided to bring him to a party in hopes he could get over his cheating ex. He tells himself he'll go for fun. That's until he meets a tall blonde man with a cute, crooked smile.
Simon thought he'd never see this mysterious one nightstand again, he would be mistaken. Little did he know this stranger is ready to sweep him off his feet.

"You're awake," Simon murmurs softly, his voice giving no indication of whether he's been awake for a while or if Wilhelm's movements have somehow jostled him from sleep.
Wilhelm, still too drowsy and dehydrated for words, simply kisses Simon's nape and sighs. His hold around Simon tightens and he inadvertently tugs him backwards â or maybe he tugs himself forwards, the end result being the fact that he and Simon are physically closer than before.
Simon hums appreciatively. "And in more ways than one, I see."

Simon had applied for the position because he met the ridiculously specific job requirements, and because Felice Ehrencrona's speakeasy was the hottest place in town. How did he even end up in this situation? He had just been singing at The Needle Club, trying to scrape by, and now he was involved in some kind of underground art heist with the future King of Sweden and six of his best friends. OR The Art Heist AU no one asked for.

It's back! It's been a month and it's back! Sorry. I hope the 18k words will make up for my negligence.
Always thank you to Dani @the-navistar-carol for making the sad even sadder and making the metaphors more coherent. LOVE YOUUUUU (said with the intention of convincing you to come home before Christmas.)
The prompt list for Kinktober 2023 is here! As always, we will be creating an ao3 collection, closer to the event. Prompts are just suggestions; feel free to mix or match any days, shuffle the order, or even do your own ideas. The main point is that you get out there and create something in the month of October.
This year, we have a bonus prompt list! Further information on that can be found in the google doc.

Summary:
In honor of my 100th story on Ao3, I wanted to do something special, and after long deliberation, I decided I was going to write a story where I get to hang out with all my favorite characters, and be on my favorite reality competition show.
My co author, darcangell23 appears in this story as my race partner, but other than adding some of her own dialogue and information, this is primarily my story.
The next chapter of @bluedalahorse and my regency era historical epic Young Royals fic features Wilhelm finding his political voice, the debut of our version of Boris, and August being as devilishly devious as you would expect.
Here's Wilhelm writing to Boris, who is a radical publisher of political tracts in our universe:
When I thought I might someday sit upon the throne, I envisioned helping Sweden transition to a constitutional monarchy. Because of this I have spent some time cultivating my opinions on democracy and the rights of the common man in Sweden. I know now that I will never influence our country as its leader. But I also know the power that words can hold. I see the way that members of the Frihet Society, the men who are keeping me captive and using my reputation to legitimize their control of the country, devour the pamphlets you publish.
This chapter uses some of the research I did on Thomas Paine, Edmund Burke, and Jeremy Bentham to form Wilhelm's philosophical stances, so if you're into the historical part of historical fiction and enjoy our author notes, I think you'll find this part especially interesting!
And you'll probably spend at least part of the chapter being annoyed at August too, as is your right.
âWhat are you doing here at 2 in the morning?â, Simon asks, his eyelids drooping.
Wille absentmindedly presses a kiss to his forehead before he turns back to his laptop. There are a lot of black letters on white background.
âIâm trying to figure out the best way to do thisâ, he murmurs, his fingers tapping on the keyboard.
âTo do what?â, Simon asks.
âAbdicationâ, Wille murmurs, not interrupting his typing.
Simon lifts his head and looks at him in surprise. âWhat?â, he asks, not sure if he misheard.
Wille stops typing and turns to face him. âIâm going to abdicateâ, he says, a tiny smile in the corner of his lips.
Simon feels his heartbeat pick up speed. âLike in renouncing your title? Removing yourself from the line of succession? No more crown prince? No more future king?â He inhales shakily. âJust Wille?â
This is it. My first foray into the angst and hurt/comfort territory was a wild ride. I wasn't aware how much I could make myself cry with the things I made up in my own mind.
It was kind of healing, actually. Maybe this one does count as therapy.
Thank you so much to everyone who cheered me on along the way. You know who you are.
Now I'm off, Vegas Wilmon is calling.
Read the final chapter 11 of "We're not who we used to be".
Hi :) Here is the tenth and final part of my lifeguard Simon/surfer Wille AU đ Iâve really enjoyed writing these little instalments over the last ten weeks. Thank you very much for reading along and for all your lovely comments and reblogs. You can also read the whole thing on ao3.
âSimon! Hurry up, itâs starting!â
Simon rushes in from the kitchen, passing a large bowl of popcorn over to Rosh as he squishes onto the sofa between her and his mother. Wille is being interviewed on the news tonight. Itâs a fluff piece about his new role as sustainability manager for Vale Cosmetics, but Kristina will be there with him, too, so itâs bound to get good ratings.
Simon has spent the last two days packing, getting ready to move into a small apartment he and Wille found together. His mother is overjoyed.
âHe got a haircut!â Linda squeezes Simonâs knee, âDoesnât he look handsome?â
Simon nods, eyes glued to the screen. Willeâs floppy locks have been trimmed into a neater, more mature style. He was apprehensive when Wille first told him about it, but heâs loving the new look more and more with every passing second.
The interviewer is a blonde woman with pink lipstick too bright for her face. Wille is eloquent and friendly as he answers her safe but slightly stupid questions. Kristina sits next to him with a thin lipped smile, poised to pounce with her PR strategy if he makes any mistakes. Simon canât help but smirk to himself when Wille does the whole thing flawlessly.
âAnd what made you want to take Vale in this new direction, Wilhelm? As a force of change for the better?â
Wille smiles warmly, âActually, it was my partnerâs idea.â
Simonâs eyes widen.
âOh really?â The presenter leans in, far more engaged than she was ten seconds ago, âAnd whatâs your partnerâs name? Tell me about them.â
Wille laughs. Simon can tell heâs blushing under his makeup, âWell his name is Simon, but thatâs all youâre getting,â he gives a little wave to the camera.
Ayub lets out a low whistle. Rosh drops the handful of popcorn that hasnât made it to her mouth, âDid he just come out on national TV?âÂ
Simon grins, cheeks flushing pink, âI think he did.â
Wille arrives a while after the broadcast, armed with a large cheese pizza and another roll of packing tape. Ayub makes off with the pizza as Wille gives Simon a hug.
âHi,â he greets everyone as he shrugs out of his coat.
Simonâs mom waves shyly. Simon stands back to introduce them, âWille, this is Mom, I mean, Linda.â
âHey,â Wille shakes her hand.
âYou did so well in that interview,â Linda gushes.
Wille blushes and stutters and enters full âmeeting my boyfriendâs mother for the first timeâ mode, pulling out a rickety kitchen chair for her and promising to get her plenty of free samples. Affection blooms in Simonâs chest as he watches them together.Â
Rosh nudges his elbow, âYou still havenât thanked me, you know.â
âFor?â
âFor making you take that lifeguard job last summer. Donât you remember how pissed off you were when I drove you to the interview?â
âFuck,â Simon laughs, âyeah, OK. I guess I should say thank you.â
âI accept both cash and chocolate payments.â
âIâll keep that in mind.â
Later that evening, he pushes Wille back onto his bed, surrounded by boxes and piles of clothes and all the other bits and pieces theyâve given up packing in favour of kissing each other. Wille unbuttons Simonâs jeans and slips his hand inside, smiling against Simonâs lips as he strokes and teases. Simon clings to him, rocking into every touch, so aroused by the naughtiness of doing it with all their clothes on. Wille can tell when heâs getting close. He pulls Simon out through the slit in his underwear and finishes him off with his mouth instead. Simon eagerly reciprocates once he gets his breath back.Â
âYou were so brave tonight,â he says, tucking Willeâs new, shorter hair behind his ear as they hold each other.Â
Wille shrugs, âIt didnât feel brave to me,â his voice is quiet. He tangles Simonâs fingers with his own, âJust honest.â
He smiles, and Simon smiles back. It wonât always be this easy, he knows that, but heâs in it for the long haul, and as Wille kisses his forehead and cuddles him even closer, Simon knows that he is, too.Â
i needed something to get my motivation back so i created my own version of the inktober based on my favourite show young royals. it would make me really happy to see other people participating in this and using the tag #youngroyals_inktober
Alexander doesn't understand why Madison began sitting next to him during class. He files the behaviour under Things He Has No Energy to Figure Out and instead focuses on making sure his things â his textbook, notebook, pencil case, and favourite mechanical pencil â were lined up neatly at the top corner of his side of the desk.
"Nice case," Madison comments once Alexander was done fiddling with his notebook. He glances at his pencil case and sends Madison a confused look; it isn't an overly decorative case, simply a hard plastic box that's utilitarian at best, but he supposes therein lies its beauty.
Alexander finds a lot of beauty in simplicity. Madison, he thinks idly, isn't simple: with her loud, colourful clothes, equally loud hairstyles, and even louder voice, she's very much the antithesis of simplicity.
And yet...
"Is that your favourite colour?" she asks when Alexander fails to comment on her conversation starter.
Were they really going to make small talk about his school things? Alexander frowns but refuses to be cowed, because if this was a trick then he can easily fend for himself. It's just that... girls never really try to talk with him, never mind girls from Manor House.
"I don't have a favourite colour," Alexander says, and he's saved from further explaining himself when the teacher comes in (late, but only by a half minute) and starts the day's lesson.
It becomes a habit, from then on, Madison choosing to sit next to him during class. She's there during the odd meals he takes outside of the Forest Ridge dining room. She joins him sometimes when he studies at the cafe instead of in the library, and once tried to offer him a sip of her organic something or other latte when she noticed he never drinks anything other than cold brews.
"Thanks," he declines her well-meaning offer, "but I don't... ah, milk disagrees with me."
Her face lights up at his admission, strangely enough. "Oh," she says, her eyes shining brightly and the corner of her lips tugging up with a secretive smile. "A secret! You've told me a secret!"
Alexander laughs despite himself. "Sort of," he says. "It's hardly world-breaking, my intolerance of lactose-based products."
"Yes, but this is great! Sharing secrets mean we're getting closer as friends."
Alexander's good mood plummets; he has plenty of secrets he didn't want to share, most of them concerning the crown prince and his extended family.
"Is that what we are?" he asks Madison, a hint of a challenge in his voice to hide the turmoil he's suddenly feeling at the reminder of his past mistakes. "Friends?"
"Aren't we?" she says, tilting her head to the side. One of her not-at-all-simple braids and hair baubles falls against her forehead. She flicks it away with ease.
"Not really?" Alexander tries, though he knows his words weren't exactly a hundred per cent true. "We're study partners at best, maybe."
Madison rolls her eyes, but her soft laughter softens the blow. "We're friends, dummy. Have been for a while."
"Oh."
"We sit together. We talk to each other. We buy each other coffee, sometimes. What else do friends do if not all of that?"
"Tell each other secrets?" Alexander tries to tease. When Madison laughs, he feels his heart beat double time and his cheeks warm with heat.
"I've got a secret," Madison admits, leaning close.
I think I'm developing a crush on you, Alexander thinks. Whether it's a secret he thinks Madison harbours or if it's a secret of his own making, he isn't so sure. Nothing about this is simple and, frankly, he has no idea on how to proceed.
"Are you going to tell me what it is ?" he asks, matching Madison's tone of voice. They were in their own little bubble of privacy, away from the general hubbub of students and other school-related noises, and something in Alexander relaxes.
He hasn't felt this calm in months.
"My secret is..." Madison leans forward.
Alexander, helpless, leans forward, too. He sees Madison's eyes flick down to what might be his lips, but he refuses to ask about it and so he files that memory away for further inspection at another time.
"You want to know my secret?" Madison asks. Teases, really. And Alexander nods in anticipation. "Well, it's simple: milk disagrees with me, too."
Alexander's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. "What," he laughs, disbelieving.
"I'm lactose intolerant, too!" Madison admits gleefully, and they share a moment of intense eye contact before doubling over in incredulous laughter.
"But â you â don't you?" Alexander gasps between breaths. "Your lattes?"
Madison sobers up enough to say, "It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make," before their shared mirth takes over again. They do go back to their studying at some point, and when evening comes and their respective houses call for their attendance at dinner, they part ways amicably.
They walk away to their own houses, to their own friends and their own lives, only this time... this time, they keep this little bit of each other with them. It's a secret that isn't so daunting in its existence, but the trust held in sharing it â the trust held in the promise for further personal truths â certainly was.
"Something's cheered you up," Walter says when Alexander passes by him on their way to Forest Ridge. "Care to share?"
Walter, Alexander knows, is a devious little snitch and is unable to keep a secret to himself even when threatened â Henry has promised to break their friendship more than once about it, but the two respected each other too much for Henry to truly follow through.
Alexander sends a kind, placid smile Walter's way. "No," he says mildly. "I really don't think I will."
This little post - yes it's the Grindr post - happened across my dash about two months ago, and this is the result! It's funny, very explicit, very hot and very emotional. It's my special little baby and I hope you'll like it!

CHAPTER 19 (PART 1 OF 2) NOW UP!
âââ
There was a long pause, before Boris finally spoke up.
âHow would you feel if you stopped helping people?â
Simon blinked, lips parted in surprise.
âTerrible,â he answered. âLike a bad person.â
âThat wouldnât make you a bad person. From what youâre telling me, it comes naturally to you, to help others, but we all have limitations. The question is, do you put others before yourself when you do?â
Simon bit his lip. âI think Iâm learning not to.â
Boris leaned forward in his seat and cocked his head to the side.
âHave you ever seen one of those airplane safety video or the instructions that the flight attendants do before takeoff?â
âUm⊠yes,â Simon said, a bit confused.
âThey always instruct adults to put their oxygen masks on first before they help a child or another person with theirs.â
âOkay?â
âBecause you canât help others before you help yourself.â
Simon blinked. âOh.â
âItâs good that youâre learning to put yourself first, which is what youâre doing right now, coming here, talking about whatâs bothering you. You need to take care of yourself before you take care of others.â
Simon sat with that for a bit, sipping his tea, fingers tapping on the sides of the cup.
âââ
Sorry for the long delay, but Iâve been dealing with some mental health issues and personal problems, and it has kept me from even being able to do things that I love and that make me feel better, like writing this fic⊠but I feel like Iâm getting back on track now.
