Sorry guys I promise I’ll make sum good one day 😼
chase, a guy who has never tried hard or worked for anything in his life, meeting the most type a, obsessive, over-invested and pushy woman on the planet and falling head over heels for her over-investment in everything is just 👌👌👌
guy who announces it's better to not care and protect himself and put his own survival first falling for girl who will martyr herself for anyone for any reason. do you ever think about how chase in s1 would get annoyed at cameron giving patients 'false hope' and then telling masters to tell the truth but side with hope in s8. do you ever think about chase throwing anyone under the bus to protect himself in s1 and chase getting between adams and a man assaulting her in s8. do you ever think of house and foreman accusing chase of "pretending to care", of being fake, being insincere. do you ever think about chase in s5 unhesitatingly saying he wants to spend his life with cameron, that he has no doubts, that he knows they'll be together the rest of their lives.
how in early seasons chase has no interest in relationships and has never -- that we know -- even had any. how in s8 he's sleeping around, but with the stated intent of connecting, of falling in love, of wanting to find someone. how s1-2 chase minded his own buisness and avoided drama; how s7 chase desperately tries to help thirteen; how s8 chase offers park a place to stay when she's having trouble at home.
and it isn't linear progress. chase sleeps around a lot. he can still be an ass. he can still be standoffish and sarcastic. but now he urges hope. he reaches out to others. he does not drift along, covering his own ass. he mentors park. he offers hope. he no longer seeks the approval of others, but reaches out to them as someone who can help and protect and care. he gets involved. he tries.
and who do you think he got it from. what made him start to change.
do you ever think about chase, the only one who never makes fun of cameron's dead husband, who never accuses her feelings of being fake, who might roll his eyes at her sometimes but unlike house or foreman never is dismissive or cruel. do you ever think of how cameron changed him for the better, without her even trying…
