As you know in the DVD ending BarMan & Robin do end up together again after Robin traveled the world & Barney became dad.

But that doesn't mean they should get married again and live in a big house in the suburbs like their friends do.
In fact thinking that they should be like their friends is why they kept breaking up.

This is why I'm always gonna have problems with the ending (before they tried to fix it). It's not just about who should have ended up with who but about how they ruined the characters and their development.
