Lauma gradually getting more and more helping hands, gift snacks, doting attention, and borderline worship from the frostmoon scions at the enclave

And Nefer tries to warn her that she needs to put her foot down and establish boundaries with her followers or else it's just going to get worse

*pointedly eyeing the frostmoon priestess girl at Lauma's side trying to offer her another spoonful of sweet pudding, and Lauma's beginnings of a slight belly pudge, and back*

But Lauma reassures her that she has everything under control and that this is simply part of her duties as moonchanter, the burden she has to bear

Granted, Nefer is appreciative of her sometimes-lover's slowly expanding curves, the way she's starting to have soft little quakes of cellulite along her thighs whenever she walks and her chest is nearly spilling out of her low-cut robes entirely

But

As Nefer is helping Lauma up the stairs to the curatorium after a late arrival to town (Lauma doesn't even walk from the enclave anymore, her frostmoon followers insist on her riding in a cushioned cart with plenty of snacks for the road), Lauma huffing and puffing and struggling to get her trunklike leg flab up past her hanging gut for each step, and Nefer having to practically swat away the lingering frostmoon girls hovering around Lauma asking if she'd rather sit down and have some treats they brought with them - Nefer warns Lauma again, it's *obvious* what they're doing to her - but Lauma is insistent that they're just trying to help and Nefer shouldn't be so paranoid about everyone, that sometimes kindness is just kindness with no ulterior motive

A few months later, Nefer is visiting the enclave "for intelligence" ~~(she hasn't seen Lauma around town in about a month, when the flab-pile of moonchanter could barely waddle around the square without two frostmoon girls supporting her wide hips and keeping her mouth constantly plugged with treats, and Nefer is starting to get worried)~

And she gasps when she sees the pale, wheezing, softly wobbling mound of fat that the frostmoon scions have turned Lauma into, shaping her body into a monument to worship and stuff with endless offerings to their faith
