What’s Up, Fam? It’s been a minute!
It’s been far too long since I’ve checked in on the site. When I tell you so much has been going on… too much to even begin getting into! Times have been wonderful, weird, beautiful, strange, heartbreaking, trying, and challenging but your girl is still here and I have been BUSY!
I’d established a pretty steady routine spinning at Beats + Bubbly with Mas Appeal every Saturday morning at RainDogs in Five Points from 12 - 4pm (How I miss #SoundBenderSaturdaze…) I had been training with Mas since last summer, learning how to DJ, and I was finally getting out there at the top of 2020, gigging regularly and building my residency at RainDogs.
And then the entire world went inside to escape #TheRona
Crazy times we’re living in, eh?
For better or for worse, life has forced us inside for the foreseeable future and we have all (hopefully) been doing what we can to maintain our sanity. I, for one, find the most solace and therapy in music and have taken the time to focus on practicing, mixing, and - most recently - recording myself. As happy as I was to finally start DJing for real months ago - after so much time only dreaming of creating more than just a playlist of music I thought was dope - I was beyond excited to finally be able to blend and mix the music on my playlists into one continuous vibe.
For the past few weeks I’ve been experimenting and recorded a few mixes. Earlier this week, I finally put one together that I felt confident about sharing! It’s 48 minutes of random vibes - some you might know, some you might not, all I hope you enjoy.
