I'm that guy who started this blog after the show ended. It's probably 3 years later than I wanted, but I got sidetracked by another fuckass Netflix show I don't want to talk about here (but there will likely be crosstalk since I'm still busy writing for the IP).
I can and will ship anything fictional re: fictional characters/things, so don't come to me with your anti sensitivities. I'm old school, we shipped everyone with everyone else.
I am just about as old as the kids of The Party would be today, so I lived through the 80s. While this show was heavily, heavily nostalgic for me, it was a bit of a cursory view of what life was like in the 80s. Wasn't bad, was pretty great in that respect actually, but there was a bit of sanitization for today's viewership.
Once again, I can and will ship anything, though taboo is my forté. I laughed at the Bylers though, since those delusions for the final season were wild.
Will I actually write anything for ST, who knows. If I do, it won't be sanitized.
My favorite character is Dart, and I cling to my own fanon delusion that he didn't actually die because he wasn't inextricably tied to the hive (since Dustin raised him). I like the Californians (Max, Billy, Argyle), maybe because I've been here for over half my life.
I like most of the other characters, but I learned early on that each one can be fucking annoying in their own way, so playing faves here is hard but Erica and Keith are never-misses with their screentime, and I hate that Keith wasn't around for 4 or 5 (maybe he was one of the town "earthquake" casualties 💀). Steve, of course...I don't know anyone who doesn't like Steve (though some crazy person told me he was ugly 😭😭😭). I gave him a sister in my own burgeoning ST universe/AU, and I'll post her some time. Season 2 Steve is my Netflix user icon bc I realized that if I were to change it, I'd never get it back again on my account because it isn't available anymore.
I guess it's appropriate, since babies of the fandoms either flock to or Angry Horde at me; lately it's been the same shit everyone else is getting, i.e. "you're a pedo/predator/somebody ought to check your hard drives" because I write taboo smut and squick. Purity Culture has really fucked us all up, and there are a lot of other creators on social media more willing to put in the effort to talk about these issues directly; Cloud, Shan, and Dean on TikTok have some excellent videos, though there is one point where we differ: I believe that adolescents shouldn't be completely locked out of discussions involving sexuality/taboos, and that because we have been doing just that, we have facilitated (and currently feed) Purity Culture itself to keep its machine running and progressing towards the destruction of information and the perpetuation of both ignorance and misinformation. I have lots and lots of educational texts I can and will share.
Sometimes I go on tangents. I'm an old (trans)man rambling and sometimes creating prose and poetry. I did at least one thing that affected something the entire world over, but I can't even take any credit for it 🥀
Was into all of that pop music back then, however I listened to whatever my parents listened to (and my father has eclectic tastes). Multiliterate in several ways. I probably won't be here too much, I dunno.
Most of my work in other fandoms is NC-17 rated, but I write all ratings.
