Hi there. Iām Jim Moriarty.
Youāre Sebastian Moran, right?
Yes, but you can call me Seb. It's nice to meet you...Ā
Oh weāve met some strange ones. You couldnāt be as bad as Jim Moriarty, could you?
Presumably not. I'm just his handler.Ā
The DI got out of the car more slowly, propping himself up on the door before walking towards his house, leaning slightly on the other man as he reclaimed his keys. Ā āIām significantly less miserable than I would be sober. Ā I think.ā
He looked up at the taller man, fingers running absently over his bloody bicep as Lestrade leaned against his own front door. Ā āNo, no, itās alright. Ā We all loved someone who died that day. Ā Doesnāt really matter which one, theyāre all equally gone.ā

Sebastian placed the keys back into the other's palm, "Well, at the very least, you're more open to this with a few beers in you." The sniper helped Gregory inside before shutting the door behind them, "And I suppose. In the end, they're both useless idiots." He glanced around the flat, "Does anyone else live with you?"Ā
The sniper shifted in his boots, taking more of Greg's weight with an arm around the DI's waist, "Don't want to scare anyone."Ā
Your Pretty Baby.: nobodybehindtheface started following you.
Must everything be an insult to you, precious? Dear me, you are hard to please.
Never mind, love a challenge me.
Most things are, dear.Ā
Your Pretty Baby.: nobodybehindtheface started following you.
Play nice, kitty cat. Claws in.
Huh. How original. Kitten jokes...
Because I've never heard any of those before.Ā
Your Pretty Baby.: nobodybehindtheface started following you.
Oh, maybe I just like getting a handsome manās attention. I didnāt think I was succeeding, thank you for the confirmation darling.
Ha. Humorous.Ā
The door is that way.Ā

Greg gestured vaguely down the road ahead of them. Ā āUm, three blocks, then take a left.ā Ā He slumped down a bit in his seat, wishing for another cigarette. Ā āOh, they hate it, of course. Ā But itād be bad PR to fire the dead geniusās DI, so no one says anything. Ā Guess Iāve finally got something to thank Sherlock for, after all that.ā
He stared at the other man thoughtfully, brain trying to work through the haze of alcohol. āFew months ago? Ā Thatās when, um, didnāt have anything to do with the hospital roof, did it?ā Ā He was getting the feeling he knew the answer. Ā āYou can just ignore me, if youād rather. Ā Oh, park on the street, anywhere youād like, weāre pretty close.ā
Sebastian nodded, driving down and making the turn. As if he hadn't known where the DI lived. He got out of the car, twirling the keys on his forefinger, "But it looks like it's making you miserable."Ā
The sniper paused, trying to hide the smirk from curling onto his lips, "I'll answer that for you, Gregory. If you really want to know the answer." He handed him back his keys, "You already know I have issues with the British Government."Ā
Your Pretty Baby.: nobodybehindtheface started following you.
So I have learnt very quickly, Mr. Moran.Ā
Politeness does get dull, Iāll say that much.Ā
Ā And yet here you are, attracting my attention without a job in mind.Ā
Your motive being...?Ā
āMakes sense then. Ā I donāt usually get there until 10 or so.ā Ā He sat in the passenger seat, nervously fiddling with the door handle. Ā āIām employed, just given up showing up to work sober. Ā These days theyāre happy if I get there at all.ā
āNice to meet you, Sebastian. Ā Out of work recently?ā Ā He started to ask more and then cut himself off, shaking his head. Ā āNever mind. Ā Didnāt mean to pry.ā Ā Greg quickly outlined the directions to his flat, wishing he had thought to clean it earlier that day.
Sebastian started the car, "Where am I headed, Greg?" He asked, adjusting the rearview mirror, "Doesn't that.. Not sit well with the Yard? Being drunk in the office?"Ā
The sniper shrugged his shoulders, "Last couple months, yeah." He pulled out of the parking spot, "No, no. It's not prying. My boyfriend, well my boss, passed away. So the company kinda collapsed."Ā
His eyes lit up as he got inside. āNice car!ā Gray exclaimed excitedly as he fastened his belt. Grayson examined the inside carefully; it truly was a beautiful car.Ā
āThanks,ā he said. āFor taking me.ā
Seb shrugged his shoulders, "It's all right. Kind of an impulse buy after I saw it in a Bond film." He drove off towards the shopping district, "You don't have to thank me." The sniper offered a lopsided grin, "Do you have any idea what brand you want? Or should be just poke around?" Jim would have been so much better suited for this.Ā
Your Pretty Baby.: nobodybehindtheface started following you.
Nor does the average woman, it seems, regardless of how harmless. Although, I am glad youāve sorted out your need to know all about me.
The impolite way, that is.
I wouldn't bore myself with taking the time to ask.Ā
Time is money, Ms. Greyson.Ā
Nameās Sebastian Moran. Yeah, pleasureās all yourās.Ā
Oh arenāt you a joyā¦
Actuallyā¦it might not even be our pleasure anymore, Moran.
Uh, no. The like's of you don't get to meet someone like me often.Ā

Sherlock was a bit taken aback with the twist of things, but he found it rather amenable. Though he knew John would be vastly affected by the loss - or injury- of one of his kinsfolk, Sherlock honestly couldnāt care less. He knew he coud fix it somehow once he returned to ālifeā and as long as it didnāt injured Joh directly, he found it quite easy to ignore.
However he knew that was only the start of a rather long and excruciate game. Long and excruciate, yet he couldnāt help but feel exhilarated. Moriartyās associates had been disappointing him so far and he needed something to keep from falling into cocaine and dispair, and Moran was just giving it to him on a silver platter. QuiteĀ convenient, if anyone asked him.Ā
Therefore with was with an amused smile and bright eyes that he watched the sniper back away. āSee you soon, Moranā, he called just before the sniper disappeared on the corner of the empty street. āVery soonā, he muttered to himself.
Sebastian made his way down the street, clicking away on the keys of his phone. The web was alive enough for this simple job, thankfully. He smirked to himself as he wondered what John's expression would be when he found the note. Yes, the army doctor was under lock and key, but a conscious and fearful man could slip away.Ā
Harry Watson. What would she be like? Seb slipped back into his green Jaguar as he worked on which location the ransom would be held. They would ask for something stupid, like Sherlock's violin, in return for the younger Watson; but of course the end game would be John.Ā
The sniper reclined in his chair, "He's going to suffer boss. He's going to suffer just like us."Ā
Tod Waggner. Hi there.
Alex Browning. Pleasure to meet you.
Name's Sebastian Moran. Yeah, pleasure's all your's.Ā
Greg laughed. Ā āI may have had a couple drinks, possibly one too many.ā Ā He rubbed his eyes, shaking his head. Ā āI can walk just fine, thank you.ā Ā He didnāt pull far away from the other man though, letting himĀ steerĀ them both to the car. Ā āAnd Iām here most nights, trying to drink myself into a stupor. Ā Iām usually skulking in a corner, though, so Iām not surprised you havenāt seen me.ā
He paused by the car door and turned, frowning. Ā āBy the way, you know my name, but Iām afraid I donāt know yours. Ā Iām going to need something to call you, other than ābloody stranger.āā
Not my division: hisinstinctsmyfacts && hisloyalsniper.
"A face like that?" Seb commented, "I would have noticed it if I was there. I'm in early, usually already passed out at home late into the night." The sniper shut the door before going around to climb in himself, "I'm out of a job, so drinking starts at noon."Ā
He looked over, offering a toothy grin, "Where are my manners? Name's Sebastian, most people call me Seb."Ā
Greg rolled his eyes, yanking his car keys out of his pocket. Ā āYouāre welcome to drive if youād rather, itās not far.ā Ā He leaned into the other manās arm, appreciating their sudden closeness. āUm, yeah, Iām sure. Ā Canāt leave you bleeding on the stoop of my favorite bar. Ā Come on then.ā Ā He gestured to his car, parked close by on the street. Ā āThe house is about two kilometers away, shall we see if I can get us there? Ā Or would you rather take the wheel?ā.

Sebastian thought for a moment, "I wouldn't be opposed to driving. It's not like I've had anything to drink." He took the keys from Gregory, gently brushing their fingers, "You on the other hand." The sniper snickered, "Should I carry you?" He walked with the DI to his car, "That's your favourite pub?" He asked while opening the door for him, "I guess we just go at different times then."
