The biblical eschaton is not beyond history, but rather the final and definitive stage of history. Christ says, ‘How blest are those of a gentle spirit; they shall have the earth for their possession’ (Matt. 5:5). No honest person could possibly translate this as locating the eschaton in some other world. Christ is speaking of the earth, of this world.
