A big pink dragon breaks a hole in the roof. Shuu is on top of it. "Hey Hitori, guess what? I'm getting married! To this thing! Isn't that swell?"

Hitori seems to be very peeved for a moment that his roof is ruined, but his focus is quickly switched to the very unusual sight above him. His head is filled with numerous questions, but the first one that gets out is: “How long have you even known this… creature?” He folds his arms.

“Like, a whole day!” Shuu doesn’t appear to say it with any irony. He seems completely bereft of any self-awareness. Instead, he gives his fiance a few good pats. “We have a real connection. It’s the most wonderful thing that’s ever happened to me.”

“Okay, let’s make this clear: it almost ate you but you fell in love with it, saying you have a real connection?” It was hard to not get a bit bitter, hearing Shuu call this utterly ridiculous situation the most wonderful thing that had ever happened to him. “Alright then. Very nice that you decided to introduce us before your wedding. Sorry but I probably can’t make it, I have a sudden roof replacement scheduled for this week.”

If Shuu ends up marrying this dragon, I think he'll want you to be his best man. Would you accept? Hell, would you even go to the wedding at all? Do you think you would be able to support his decision like that?

“There’s no hurry for me to decide something like that... I hope.”

[hitouzura]

Hitori, please be so kind as to walk us through your feelings regarding Shuu discovering his new hobby in dragon fucking and, possibly, the scaly love of his life. Or death. Your words will not leave this room so please feel free to give your true, honest opinion.

“Uh, well. Honestly speaking, this isn’t something I could’ve foreseen to happen in this world and lifetime... And I kind of wish it didn’t? I wouldn’t be surprised if Shuu got snapped in half like a dry twig, being in such close proximity with a huge creature like that, not to mention, uh, messing around with one. I just hope he knows what he’s getting himself into...”

Shuu picked up his own chopsticks as well and returned Hitori’s smile. “I hope I’ll be able to contain my excitement enough to get this down.” Though that didn’t seem like it was going to be a problem with how good this looked.

But he didn’t want to experience just the look, so he took the first slice. He took his time making sure it was cooked for just the right length of time and then had just the right amount of sauce on it, then he looked in Hitori’s eyes as he put it in his mouth. Immediately his eyes slid shut and a pleased hum came from him.

He wanted to tell Hitori how good it was, but he couldn’t bring himself to talk with food in his mouth, so he wanted to chew it faster but also that was completely unacceptable, he had to take the time to savor this. So he just focused on that instead, letting the taste overwhelm his mouth. When he was done, he opened his eyes again and smiled at Hitori. “I don’t need to tell you I like it. How could I not like anything you make? This, though-” He couldn’t help but reach for his next slice. “This is one of your best, I think.”

Hitori’s smile widened as he observed Shuu’s reaction, pleased that his boyfriend seemed to like it and also happy that he was eating. When the older man was reaching for his second slice of meat, Hitori finally moved to pick his first one. “I’m flattered, though I did do my best to choose something I was pretty sure you would like. It’s good to know I know my boyfriend’s tastes well enough after dating for over two years, yeah?” He chuckled softly and dipped his meat slice in the hot pot, swishing it around gently till it was properly cooked. 

After munching down the first mouthful he spoke again: “If there’s something special you want to do today you can suggest it later, though there’s something I want to give you before that, as I mentioned.”

Shuu blushed like he always did when Hitori called him beautiful and closed his eyes as asked. “Alright, alright. Anything for you.”

His heart was racing as Hitori led him to his surprise, but the aroma that was making his mouth water was a pretty big hint. Still, when he opened his eyes he put one hand over his mouth and the other over his heart. It was all so romantic… and perfect.

“Oh, honey,” Shuu took Hitori’s hand and leaned in to kiss his cheek, then took the offered seat. “Of course I am. Your cooking is always the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted, and I strongly doubt this will be an exception.” He looked over the food, savoring the sights and smells and beautiful atmosphere. “This is really just for lilol’ me? Shucks, how long did it take you?”

“The food didn’t take that long, actually,” Hitori replied as he sat down. He paused for a second and picked up his chopsticks, before continuing with a small, secretive smile, “This isn’t the end of your gift, though.”

He didn’t seem to want to elaborate further yet. He simply just gestured at the plate of uncooked meat slices in an offer for Shuu to have the honor of starting his birthday meal. As he waited for his boyfriend, Hitori watched him with a soft smile. He often felt overwhelmed with feeling in moments like this. Moments, when he realized how lucky he was. ‘Of course this is just for you,’ he belatedly replied mentally to Shuu’s earlier question.

Shuu spent all his time waiting making preparations of his own. He took a thorough shower, mindful to treat himself with moisturizer, and carefully decided on an outfit. He wanted to look nice, but he couldn’t overdo it either. A soft blue button-up and dark slacks would do just fine.

His hair took more deliberation as he tried out different styles to see what he liked best. In the end, he gathered his hair over his left shoulder and put it into a braid, humming as he worked. Just something quick and loose to put in that little extra effort while still keeping it casual. After a few minutes of examining himself in the mirror, he congratulated himself on a job well done.

The rest of the time waiting was spent mostly just pacing around giddy with anticipation, until finally it was time to go and he just about bolted out the door, nearly forgetting his jacket in the process. It felt like he’d never made it to Hitori’s faster, and yet it still took far too long to get there. A cordial few minutes early, at least.

He was sure to give his best smile when the door opened, which wasn’t too difficult because his best smile was his excited smile, and he was very excited. “Long time no see,” he said as he greeted Hitori with a kiss, even though it had only been a handful of hours. It always felt like a long time when they were apart.

“Hello beautiful,” Hitori smiled, his eyes taking in his boyfriend’s gorgeous features for a few seconds. Knowing there would be more than enough time to appreciate Shuu’s looks through the evening, he moved soon enough and took the older man’s hands in his. “Please close your eyes, I’ll take you to the surprise.”

The butterflies in his stomach got wilder by the second. When Hitori had safely led Shuu in front of the dining table he moved to stand next to him. “Okay, you can open your eyes now.”

The wonderful smell filling the apartment probably had given the surprise away already, but in front of them was a table set for two and in the middle there was a simmering hot pot. The lights were off in the room, candlelight illuminating the table area. 

Hitori looked at his boyfriend with a smile and pulled a chair out for him. “I hope you’re in the mood for some shabu-shabu?”

Shuu grinned into the kisses. “Ooo, exciting.”  He was already getting hyped up wondering what could possibly be in store for him, especially if it was something that required preparation. “I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait that long, but I’ll do my best. I’m sure it’ll be more than worth it anyway.” It always was.

“You’ll see,” Hitori smiled mysteriously before he blew a kiss to Shuu and left. He had lots to do and not too many hours to waste.

30 minutes before 6pm Hitori sighed in relief as he checked the last things off his mental preparation list. Still having no time to sit around, he hurried to the bathroom for a quick shower before Shuu would arrive. He knew Shuu and deep inside he was sure his boyfriend would enjoy the gift he was about to get, but it didn’t stop Hitori from feeling those butterflies in his stomach. His boyfriend always went out of his way to do nice things for him so Hitori definitely didn’t want to give anything less in return. He was determined to make this a very memorable day at the very least. 

It was a special day but still an evening at home, so Hitori didn’t put on anything too fancy. A cosy, clean white sweater with a wide neck and a pair of dark jeans was his get up for the evening. White wasn’t usually his go-to color but that’s why he thought it fit the occasion. 

When the doorbell finally rang Hitori hurried to open the door. Alright, the moment of truth was here!

“Perfect,” Hitori murmured with a smile and gave a brief kiss to his boyfriend. “I need some time to prepare everything, so if you could come to my place around six, that’d be great. Nageki will stay the night with his friends so it’ll be just the two of us.” He brushed Shuu’s cheek with his thumb and leaned in for another kiss before taking a step back. Even if he really would have liked to stay with Shuu, he needed to get started with the preparations as soon as possible so everything would be perfect for the evening.

As soon as Shuu notices that Hitori's stressed (bc you Know he can see thru his bs) he INSISTS that Hitori sits down, and Shuu goes and makes him something nice to eat. Then he comes sits with him and asks Hitori to tell him about his day while he rubs his shoulders. Also if he's expecting Hitori to get home stressed then he'll probably try to be in a cute outfit by the time he gets home just to make him happy

Aww, he’s so thoughtful and sweet! While Hitori 100% would appreciate anything and everything Shuu would do for him, I’m pretty sure that just seeing him would already improve his mood if he was having a kinda shitty day.

"Whoa, hey." Shuu turned over, startled by how Hitori jerked as he woke up, and rubbed his arm comfortingly. "You alright?"

For a while, Hitori just stared into the darkness, trying to understand that everything he had just seen had been just a very strange dream. Once his eyes had gotten used to the darkness, he turned to look at Shuu with a soft sigh. “Yeah, just saw a very fucked up dream, that’s all,” he whispered and scooted closer to the older man. “Sorry I woke you up...”

"sorry sir, but the man is right. iwamine shuu is objectively ugly"

“You’re all blind-”

Hitori wakes up in a cold sweat.

*the police join my side and handcuff you*

“Wait... what’s happening? You got it wrong, you were supposed to handcuff that person! ...”

[hitouzura]

“Uh... Ok- Oh look, the police are here finally.”

“I’m pretty sure you’re not. I would never think Shuu is ugly.”

*falls to the ground, but chuckles. reveals a phone* its too late anyway... i just called a massive hit on him. every mafia on the planet is sending their top men to destroy iwamine shuu. the only thing the police could do is put him in hiding, but hed go crazy from his life being destroyed anyway. theres nothing to be done

“...Who are you anyway? You sound like a lunatic. Do you need help?” He doesn’t know if he should believe anything this strange person is saying.
