every time i see the pics of lando sticking to carlos like glue before the race in abu dhabi or the video of them hugging each other afterward all i can think is that i really, really hope they stay in each other’s lives forever: whatever that looks like for them.

to have formed and sustained a bond like that — openly supportive, protective, loving, etc. — for so long in an environment that actively punishes vulnerability is… wow. like that’s not them "getting lucky" or sticking together because it’s great for sns engagement, that’s them absolutely refusing to let the other go and genuinely treasuring what they have, especially behind the scenes/in private. there is so much love and respect and understanding between them and some people wait their whole lives to find that and i’m so glad the two of them don’t have to anymore.

i love carlando but man they’ll always love each other more and i think that’s everything <3

and to the sad oscar fans: hey. your boy is an immensely talented driver with incredible potential. his time will absolutely come and when it does, everything will feel worth it. this was oscar’s first year truly competing for the championship and he did a phenomenal job, leading the grid in points for months and dominating race after race after race. to be that strong, that fiercely competitive, only 3 seasons into your career? beyond impressive.

he’s grown and learned so much this season and you all — including oscar himself of course — have so much to be proud of and look forward to in the future. it’s absolutely okay to be sad (i certainly would’ve been had lando lost so i totally get it; this sport is so emotionally taxing sometimes)! i just wanted to drop a reminder that things are going to be OK 🧡

no matter what happens/what the final results are, lando has had such a phenomenal season this year. so much for him to be proud of: from winning monaco and silverstone to closing the point gap after nearly everyone had already counted him out, working with and adapting to the car no matter how frustrating things got. he’s handled the championship battle drama (or lack thereof lol) with maturity and open, consistent respect for his teammate (even and especially when he was behind oscar in points) and has kept his head down and focused on himself more instead of the comments made by certain fans and the media, etc etc

the growth is so impressive and wonderful to see and a championship win would be the icing on top of an already amazing cake!! from the early mclaren days to now: wow i’m so proud 🥹
