I love how Peter x Alice is like if an eldritch abomination came across a Cactus, and was like oh I LOVE THIS, and the Cactus is like HOW DARE YOU UPROOT ME?! And NO! You liar! You and everyone else love my sister, the Rosebush! (Which is interesting because the Rosebush ALSO has thorns, it's just that she's able to hide them, and I think she does so because she thinks that the Cactus and the Youngest Sister Plant shouldn't see her thorns, only the roses, but it actually got to the point where the Cactus doesn't even believe that the Rosebush has thorns at all, and feels awful for being covered in thorns instead of flowers, and the Rosebush had no idea that this was happening, because she thought her sisters deserved all the beautiful roses she could give them.) No one can love me! I'm a Cactus! And even though she keeps pricking It, the creature is obsessed with her, and not just because she does happen to have a few flowers, It genuinely adores her hard green waxy body, and her pointy needles, and for a creature that has yet to feel any sort of affection before this, this is insane, dizzying, terrifying, but wonderful, and It cannot pry Itself away from whatever this is. It has become the focal point of Its existance. It would do anything for this Cactus. And the Cactus eventually starts to believe It, and comes to enjoy Its company. She starts to believe that she can be loved. That she is loved.
