The one thing I hate about cutting people off, is the fact they simply can’t take it as it is. I understand we were friends, close friends, and have been for over a year.. you’re completely valid for being upset or whatever, but when I’m cutting you off for my mental health AND because of some trauma that had happened you have no right to begin acting like the exact reason I’m cutting people out.
You can be upset, but be upset in your own time. I know that sounds rude, but the only reason I’m giving you an explanation rather than blocking and moving on without a word is because we were close friends before.. when you instantly begin pleading for me to stick around, guilt-trip, and gaslight me into staying with you, you make me regret contacting you AT ALL, nevermind just for the heads up.
“Hey, I’m cutting everyone off for my mental health because of (situation the person knows VERY well affects me negatively). Just wanted to let you know, so you won’t worry why I blocked you or worry about my physical health!”
And within seconds, before I could block them I get millions of messages from every account possible demanding I stick around??
I understand people don’t speak to you anymore, I understand I’m the (supposed) “only one” you’re friends with, and I understand you see me as some older sibling- but my gosh, the way you act makes me question if you’ve always been so obsessive and possessive and I just never noticed. Because, frankly, your (now ex) partner was PUPPY LOVE in love with you, and suddenly they break up with you out of nowhere? Most of your friends were supportive and kind, but oh noooo they randomly agreed to ditch you?
My god, “I love you, please come back, I can loose you too” acting like I’m fucking dying or something holy shit. I mean, even as friends we RARELY spoke to each other.. we were more mutuals than buddies, i don’t even know how you people saw me as an older family member or close friend tbh.
Anyway, it just really annoyed me that (specific) people I’m trying to cut off completely can’t take the hint, and instead resort to guilt-tripping me while acting “protective and caring” (possessive and obsessive) as they know my ex had, JUST because they know i respond “well” to that and probably would come running back to them if they tried hard enough.
I also despise how blocking people doesn’t stop them from seeing your username on most social platforms, because they can and WILL make various alt accounts to continue harassing you.. it’s ridiculous.
You ever just gotta question yourself on whether you’re genuinely attracted or enjoy specific things out of trauma or a disorder/mental health or if you’re just fetishising it?
