he   feels   like   he's   dying,      but   shane   isn't   going   to   say   that.      he's   not   going   to   say   much   of   anything   because   just   the   thought   of   talking   has   his   throat   burning.      it's   been   two   days   now   that   he's   found   himself   at   home,      in   bed   and   surrounded   by   a   mountain   of   blankets   that   he   can't   decide   if   he   needs   or   wants   to   shove   to   the   floor      (   he's   done   that   more   than   once   already   and   been   disgruntled   every   single   time   because   ew,      they're   gross   now      ).      the   look   that   he   tries   to   level   at   ilya   lacks   any   real   heat   behind   it,      all   the   heat   in   his   body   feels   like   it's   in   possession   of   the   fever   that's   overtaken   him.

he   ducks   his   head   back   beneath   the   blankets,      they're   allowed   on   the   bed   right   now,      and   tugs   them   tighter   to   himself   as   though   that   will   create   a   barrier   to   keep   ilya   away.         ❛❛   you'll   get   sick   too      -      ❜❜         the   answer   sounds   terrible.      his   voice   is   rough,      throat   sore   and   burning   and   his   nose   is   so   stuffed   up   that   he   feels   like   he   barely   makes   any   sense.         ❛❛   it's   just   a   cold      -      ❜❜         he's   actually   pretty   sure   it's   the   flu   but   he   doesn't   really   care   at   the   moment.         ❛❛   you   should   go.      save   yourself.   ❜❜
