It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Dysfunction | Camilla Martin Thayer

• Camilla is the atheist only daughter of a minister and his wife

• Her father spent all his time bringing the good word to the people and stressing about the upkeep of their church. Her mother spent all her time convincing her fake friends that she was the perfect wife and mother…Camilla spent her time thwarting them

• Her father being absent and her mother being painfully passive-aggressive, Camilla detested everything about her life. She started acting out.

• Camilla was that one girl who was always into something, always acting out, and could not be controlled by anyone

• If there was a stunt Camilla could pull to embarrass her parents, she was there

• Her parents tried everything to figure out what was "wrong" with Camilla and trying to "fix" her. She wasn't having any of that and packed up and left w/o a word on her eighteenth birthday.

• First rule of getting along with Camilla, NEVER tell her what she can and cannot do. Second rule, never tell her what she ~should do. Third rule, don't you ever, ever try to find out what's wrong with her. Do all the above and you've officially declared war. Camilla WILL destroy you.

• All that being said, she def isn't happy and normal. Lbr, Camilla is a sociopath. Tearing ppl down brings her pleasure.

• Camilla is actually quite intelligent...she just uses her powers for evil.

• She went to college for free by essentially running a scam on the school administration but racked up a lot of bills in destruction which she gleefully assigned to her parents.

• Now she's a modern artist...which she'll tell you essentially means she's a con woman. She finds ppl desperate to BUY self importance and then she sells it to them for an arm and a leg.

• You never really have to wonder what Camilla's opinion is: she will tell you in the most insulting, harrowing way possible.

• There's really only one thing in this world Camilla loves: Mark. Mess with him, and Camilla WILL come for you with everything she's got.

• That's all for now kids but there'll probs be more as I figure her and her relationships out more :3

Oh man. So I can potentially see this being the most hilarious/awkward relationship ever. Because Charlie is already nervous enough about meeting all of Gen’s family but I feel like he’s heard a lot about Mark and Camilla and what to expect from them but he didn’t think it could be that bad. And I’m guessing Camilla might interrogate him? In which Charlie will be like “Genevieve wasn’t joking now what is this mess I seem to be stuck in the midst of” and yeah. Thoughts?

OMMMMGGGGG this is gonna be a complete disaster. I feel like Camilla's an actual sociopath and enjoys destroying things, so she will absolutely delight in tearing Charlieve apart. She's gonna be like "that's weird bc x. This story doesn't add up w y." And like loudly announcing any holes in their in-love story. Idk that she'd put together that they're completely fabricated (at least right away) - esp given the red herring that there are some actual feelings there - but she'll know something's up and she won't rest till she figures out what that is. So yes, thee will be LOADS of questions anything from "what's the sex like?" To "what's your fav color" to "do you ever do anything outside of work????? Like EVER?????"

So, as I told Lizzy I think Serena is going to be especially prickly with Mark and Camilla because Drew and Serena used to be as happy as them and now they’re not and that kind of stabbing pain is always super fun, haha. Plus I’m guessing Camilla will not tire of talking about Drew and Serena’s current problems? And Serena’s going to loooooove that O.O

OMG Camilla will loooove tormenting her about anything and everything - esp if she sees Serena in any way mistreat her sweet Marky tbh. She'll go over and loop an arm around her and be like "Ah, honey, to think you and Drew used to be such a cute couple. Shame you broke his teeny little heart. But you know what? You deserve Harvey." And probs call her "adulteress" at any point possible and like sit on Marks lap even more than usual and smile pointedly at Serena before making out w him in front of everyone #facepalm

OMMMMGGGGG it's gonna be so nuts!! She will absolutely retaliate. Camilla was brought up by strict, passive aggressive ppl and like literally trying to figure out "what's wrong" w Camilla - and then "fixing" her - is their life mission and therefore it's the thing Camilla detests the most. She will be sooo vitriolic and I def think she'll tell Lucy that's she's clearly messed up and needs to consult a "real" psychiatrist and just #facepalm But leading up to that, I think she'd sooo appreciate Lucy's candor.

Like, I feel like he’d start flirting with her when he first meets her but I feel like she’s going to be very clear about what she thinks about him and he will not like that and probs have a temper tantrum and then threatening her and wow this guy is such a winner why does serena want to leave him ???

Oh, yeah, you NEVER have to wonder about Camilla's opinions. She actually kinda enjoys spreading them around bc I'm pr sure she's an actual sociopath. So like she ~wants~ to see everyone snap - except Mark, Mark is her treasure (and I feel like that's it's own little calamity bc Camilla is an actual problem in society hahaha). I'm pr sure Camilla has literally never seen a functional relationship and delights in knocking the legs out from under anything that seems too steady. And she's great at sniffing out problems and loudly announcing things ppl are anxious to cover up *a cheer goes up from the crowd* Soooo I feel like that'll pair w/ remarkable fireworks w/ Harvey doing the creep. Bc yes she'll be like "you're actually insane" plus I think despite everything she really does love Mark so she doesn't appreciate Harvey butting in and she'll be completely disdainful and rude and pointedly undermining. And basically if Harvey snapped and killed everyone no one would really blame him if he took Camilla out first.

she doesn’t hesitate to bring up painful subjects and discuss them at length

because she really doesn’t have a filter for what might upset others

so when you’re talking to her nothing is off the table

and she’s genuinely happy with Mark

he dotes on her and basically worships the ground she walks on

as any good husband should

she knows the Tates don’t really like her

but doesn’t really care

because she’s family and they can’t really do anything about that

which she will not hesitate to remind them at any given moment and—
