AUTHOR'S NOTE:

This particular idea has been on my mind for a long while (about since 2017 i think). This story and blog Is not perfect and/or polished for now, but I decided to stop procrastinanting and post about the idea online!

If i no longer update this blog at least once every 2 months, it's because I either lost access to this account or died. Regardless, if I don't polish the idea later on, then you know the reason, and I'm not gonna leave this world with that regret xd.

Regardless, thank you for ready this lengthy Author's note, I shall proceed with the explanation of this AU:

UNDERTALE HOLLOW HEART

The story takes place after a Post-Genocide Pacifiste Route (Two years after the events of Undertale specifically). Frisk as a new human Ambassor for the Monsters alongside them has settled in with their friends on the surface and everything seems to go well for them.

That is until they meet a strange human name's Charlie (with no recollection of who they were Two years prior of waking up) at the feet of Mt. Ebott on a camping night with Sans, Papyrus, Undyne and Alphys.

After Charlie Is welcomed into their life, they uncover not only the past of the human souls, but as well as Charlie's Past, and how he's connected to the Dreemurr Family.

PART 5: Night Visit

The dream was one they always had, it didn’t have a pattern nor warning, it could just happen. Frisk was holding the remains of Flowey’s mangled corpse as they were sitting in Asgore’s throne, while watching the clothes of their friends and family scattered around the garden full of golden flowers, now covered in dust. Frisk was frightened of this dream the first time they got it, but by now only apathy came with it, apathy for relieving the lowest moment in their life, how an act of curiosity led to so much death. Was it really curiosity? Was it boredom? Was it the feeling that they were just following along an instinct of “having to find out” what would happen?

They only knew this was the part where Chara made their entrance and grand speech of consequences and how they’d have to give up their soul to revert everything back to normal, and they would comply, give their soul and see their friends smiling once again.

But Chara didn’t come, nobody came. Frisk was taken aback by the sudden change of a set in stone dream, and as the darkness continued, they felt it. The grip of cold, boney hands grabbing their neck with such strength, trembling with weakness. They were pinned down by an unrecognizable figure that looked them in the eyes with such animosity, and as they were doing their best to get away from the grasp, as they were losing consciousness, they heard a raspy tired voice.

“This was a bad idea”

Frisk woke up in a cold sweat sitting up from fear, Chara was taken aback by this as they only got to see and hear what Frisk could see and hear, very begrudging terms by their contract. As Frisk skimmed their bedroom, their eyes laid on a lanky figure, looking straight at them with a sharp object in their hand.

Frisk yelped in shock, falling down from bed, and grabbing the nearest object they had laid on the floor, one of Papyrus’ bones, a birthday gift they got the first year with them.

-“WHO AR-” before they got to finish, the stranger interrupted them. - “ SHHH-! It’s okay, It’s okay! I won’t hurt you!” The stranger’s voice came out in a whispery scream. - “I promise I won’t, just…. listen for a moment”. Their voice was anxious and soft and…. similar to….

- “Wait, You’re…” Frisk turned on their lamp and eyed down the intruder, who was holding one of Frisk’s pencils in their hand. The same baggy clothes, the pale white skin and the messy white hair. Despite soaking wet from the ongoing rain from outside, it was him. - “You’re the human from the mountain! Wait. What are you doing here?" 

- “Ah- is… is that what I’m called?” The guy was taken aback by the title, in a very awkward pose holding his arms in nervousness. - “Wait, no, yes! I just, uh, came to give you back…” as the tall human said this, he left the pencil in the desk, grabbed something from his pocket and showed it to Frisk. - “...This.” 

- “It’s Papyrus’ phone” Chara said, as both children saw in confusion the almost dry phone, with the same selfie they took last summer as the phone wallpaper.

As both them and Chara examined it, the human continued talking. - “I recognized you, um, the picture, thought you needed your phone so I… went here to give it back. I… also wanted to pay you back for the snacks from last night.” 

- “Wait, how did you know where I lived here?” Frisk shot their head up as they asked the tall human. - “Oh! I uh….” The human paused for a moment, babbling for a few seconds as both children looked at him in bewilderment. - “ …I… I saw you and your friends driving down the mountain in that red car, so I just… followed it until you guys came to this house. I didn’t want you get scared or think I wanted to hurt you, I was planning to leave a note in the desk and leave, but…It didn’t work, I guess.”

- “ …*What a weirdo” Frisk shushed Chara instinctively as the tall human looked away in embarrassment - “D-Did you say-” before finishing Frisk cut them off “No, no! It's good. I’m glad you gave this back, it’s my friend’s phone. Thank you for bringing it back” Frisk said with a warm smile. - “Oh, no.. no problem, yeah…”

The air was tense for a few seconds, seconds of pure silence between the two humans, and the observing spirit of Chara. - “ Okay, I uh, now that you have your phone back I’ll be on my way now.” - “Wait, huh..?” Frisk blurted out. As they saw the human getting near the open window Frisk approached the human.   - “ Isn’t it… raining though? Maybe it’s not a good idea to go outside?” 

- “No, I came here while it was raining, I can go back with no problem”, said the human a bit in a hurry to get out of the room. - “ But, aren’t you gonna get sick? Or what if someone catches you and thinks you’re robbing us?” Frisk asked the now nervous guy.

 - “ *What. are you. doing???” Chara said bewildered. Frisk had the opportunity to finally see the human right now, to ask as many questions as they could. They weren’t going to waste this opportunity.

- “Seriously, kid, I have to go now, because getting caught is the least  I want to do now, so please just-” before finishing his sentence and getting to the window, Frisk grabbed his hand on a whim and pulled him back. This took the human aback

Embarrassed by this, Frisk let go of his hand and blurted out: - “Can I… Can I at least know your name?” The human was silent for a few seconds, looking away for a moment at one of the walls, and turned his head towards Frisk.

“I’m Charlie.” The silence came back, and before anyone could say something, a knock was heard.

-  “Frisk? Is everything okay? I heard you yelp for a moment, I want to make sure you’re alright” - “All good kid?” It was Papyrus and Sans. Hearing this, Charlie immediately tried to climb out of the window. - “Hold on, I wanted to-” Frisk was cut off. 

- “Seriously, I have to go. I just wanted to bring your phone back, I don’t want any trouble hERE-” As he was saying this, Charlie slipped from the window into the room, ripping off the curtain and knocking down the desk, making a loud thud and letting out a pained grunt. Frisk winced in pain and Chara watched uninterestingly.

- “FRISK! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!” Papyrus yelled as he opened the door, in his short sleeved pajamas while grabbing a bewildered sans from the waist.

Both skeletons eyed the two humans in the room, their little friend breaking in sweat frozen in place, and the tall human from the mountain, soaking wet and laying on the floor in discomfort. As everyone stood in silence, Frisk lifted their hand holding the phone.

- “G- Guess what, Papyrus? We don’t have to look for your phone tomorrow!... Also this is Charlie”

“*Great save, Frisk”

PART 4: Ghost buddy CHAT

After dinner, everyone said goodnight to each other to prepare for the next day's “mission” to retrieve Papyrus’ phone from Mt. Ebott. Sans and Papyrus went to their respective rooms, and Frisk went to the spare room the brothers made for Frisk to stay in once they got to the surface, or really, anybody who would stay there.

Despite saying they needed to start waking up early, Frisk couldn’t hold back their excitement. Sure, maybe meeting a new human wasn’t a really big deal in the grand scheme of adventures they had in a single day when they fell to the Underground, but they were curious by nature, and maybe, just very eager to get to do something interesting before coming back to school and get bored with assembly chores and duties. Summer was one time they would get to have fun, it wouldn’t hurt to really try to help that human, right?

Frisk grabbed their diary from their backpack and started writing possible questions they’d ask the human. They religiously kept the diary secret from everyone except for Flowey, the only one who truly understood that feeling of excitement and curiosity for new things, alas to a different level than theirs.

“What’s your name? Very forward” 

“Where do you come from? No, too common”

“Would you like to meet my friends? Wait, no maybe they’ll get sca-”

“ *Exactly what are you doing now?”

A disembodied voice rang through their head, always there in the most quiet moments, just listening and watching their life. Chara really wasn’t amused

“Oh! Chara. Well, I’m just writing questions for when I see the human tomorrow morning, you think asking for their favorite food might be too invasive?”

“*....”

-”What?” Frisk asked the very unamused kid “Frisk, I like you a lot, you know that, but I’ve got to agree with Sans here, you do not know if this human even wants to be with other humans, let alone any monsters. I would not really disagree with the former, actually”.

Frisk knew Sans and Chara were right, but they also knew that they couldn’t really scratch off that sense of curiosity now, there was something beyond just helping a homeless human, stranded in the Mountain; there was something else that catched their attention when they met eyes, something off that was just too interesting to ignore.

Maybe Flowey really did rub off a little of him to them, or maybe the two of them were just that similar.

“*But, I cannot force you to not go, even if I wanted to, I guess you will have to learn that lesson the hard way”. Added Chara. - “I will assume aside from Sans nobody else will know about your little plan?”

“I mean, I was thinking of telling Flowey, but I know he would tattle on me to mom just to tease me, but I guess I would do the same if he did that.” Frisk said reluctantly.”

“*Speaking of him…You are 100% sure he isn’t aware of… you know, right?”

Frisk turned to Chara knowing what they meant. Despite Chara being finally “awake” after the barrier broke, they made sure Frisk didn’t let anybody know of their current "existence", not even Asgore or Toriel, SPECIALLY not Flowey.

“Of course not, I mean, I don’t even write about you in my diary just to make sure. See?” Frisk added while skimming through all the diary pages to show Chara the truth, “*Yes, I know, but one day you might be careless and slip out the truth. Being undead is one thing, another is having to let everyone else… know of me like this after so long” Chara said melancholically, Frisk knew they were content enough to just be an observer, and to not be involved in any of this.

“I promise I’ll be careful, sweared on it back in Mt. Ebott, remember?” As Frisk made a pinky promise gesture with their hand, Chara pinky promised back humoring them as they couldn’t really touch hands, or anything physical at all. 

“Now, if you excuse me, I have some sleep to get to for tomorrow early! See you tomorrow, Chara!” and with that said, Frisk hid their diary in their backpack, turned off their desk lamp and went right up to sleep. - “Sleep well, Frisk” Chara thought to themselves as they watched Frisk slowly dozed off.

This kid was so weird on many levels. Extremely laid back, very smart despite hating school, loved talking to people but was very social enough to want to approach others like a puppy. And the fact that they never once mentioned where they came from, not once, not to anyone, not even them or Flowey, they were so secretive of their life prior to falling down yet they would always snoop their nose around to other people’s business. 

They really doubted another human like them would appear in years, and hoped that they had mercy on the pitiful human they’d have to see again tomorrow morning.

Both children were unaware that the moment to meet the new human, would be sooner than both expected.

PART 3: Waiting for dinner

Now in Old, New Home, everyone started parting ways to head to their respective homes. Papyrus dropping Alphys and Undyne off their shared home.

“Remember Undyne! Summer break is about to end, so you and Alphys must get ready to get back to teaching!” Papyrus exclaimed. - “Papyrus, you do know summer break ends in a month, yeah?” Undyne responded with a bit of sarcasm. “In 3 weeks and 4 days specifically, YES! That’s why as PE teacher and Physics teacher you must get rrrREADY! For children to get schooled properly, especially with the new human-monster companion program!” Papyrus exclaimed confidently.

“Yeah, I guess you’re right, but I’d say we have that under control for the moment, right Al?” “Oh!, y-yeah, and with M-miss Toriel hel-helping us out-t, we might have everything ready for the picnic next week!” Alphys added excitedly.

“Yeah! You better have everything done so we don’t have to worry about that junk when we hang out then” Frisk exclaimed cheerily. “Insulting education? *GASP* What would dear Toriel think about you, Frisk?” Undyne playfully says. “I’d say she’d rather I have fun and learn on my own than do PE with YOU” “AHH you love me punk, c’mere!!” Undyne says as she playfully noogies Frisk and they fake crying “Noooo, Papyrus, help meee!” 

“Well, we’ll see how everything turns out so we can hang out with no problem. See you punks later!” - “B-bye guys! Have a good day!”

-“Have a good night, Undyne & Alphys!” -“See ya later” - “Bye Guyss!!” As the group said they’re farewells for the day the Skele-bros and Frisk headed to their House to have a sleepover before going back to Toriel’s the following day.

“I hope you’re ready for my steamy spaghetti! Very good for the body, souls, and brain after a cold shower,”- Papyrus said while stirring the very done bowl of spaghetti. “Well, at least to you Frisk, I know you’ve already showered, but I can’t say the same for Sans right now”. - “I’ll just say it bro, the night is the best time to take a shower, unless I get in my mouth. Then it becomes a soap opera.”

-“Mmmhhh, I’ll let that one slide since I’m in a good mood after the pleasant camping day we’ve had yesterday”- Papyrus responded with glee, reminiscing as Sans and Frisk, hair wrapped in a towel, and Sans were sitting on the couch waiting for dinner to be ready, -”Despite the weird encounter with that other human, it was quite nice.”

-”I wasn’t really awake for that, how did you say you encountered him again?” - Sans added- “He was rummaging through the snacks we left for breakfast, then when Undyne came, he bolted and threw a can of juice at her.” - Frisk said- “Oh yeah, that’s why she was bandaged, that checks.” - said Sans. - “And then Papyrus used his bones attack to keep him in one place, I offered him food, and… he left”- Frisk added.

Sans followed -” that is quite the encounter, no wonder he threw it at Undyne, he really must’ve been scared seeing her without her beauty sleep” - “Haha, that’s mean, Sans!”- Frisk exclaimed, pushing Sans playfully. -” But… it’s still strange, you know? A human so far away from the others AND in Mtt. Ebott? Don’t you think it’s even a little weird? And what if it really IS the burglar? Maybe we could hel-”

“Hey, kid” Sans cutted Frisk as he was leaning closer to them, making sure to speak lower enough for Papyrus not to notice, as he was happily cooking, unfazed and distracted. - “I thought we agreed on not going there to check on the guy” - “W-what?” - Frisk said, confused.

“I know you’re still young and all and you’ve said to be careful. But I’m not letting you go to the mountain just so you can check on a stranger, let alone asking why he’s living there."- Sans said, with a very relaxed, but strong tone in his voice as usual.- “I know you have a knack for finding stuff or solving mysteries, but this is not something I’d suggest you should do”.

“Oh, come on!”- Frisk whispered.- “I can very well take care of myself on my own, I was nine when I climbed Mtt. Ebott.-” - “When you climbed Mtt. Ebott, fought the entirety of the Underground on your own and broke the barrier and freed all of Monster kind.” Sans said in unison as Frisk’s voice faded with each goal since Sans had heard all that discourse way too many times. - “ Look kid, I get it, and I know you’re a realll tough kid. But, this is different. Not bad to help other people and all. But maybe it's for the better to not snoop around other people's business like that. Especially on someone we know next to nothing.”

-"Even if they might need the help?" Frisk's response took a few seconds to settle in, leaving the ambient tense in that moment.

Sans stayed quiet until he finally said. -” Welp, maybe they enjoy being on their own on the mountain. Who knows? I guess we might never know.” - that response only left Frisk silent but resigned.

“Oh, that reminds me, I already let Tori know that we’ll be at her home for supper tomorrow, I think she already misses you. I can even say the same for lil’ old petal-head”. - “...Yeah, Flowey, I haven’t told him yet that we’re home, but maybe mom already did. I’ll check on it and let him know anyway”- Frisk finally said, rummaging in their backpack to find their phone. - “Hey don't get app-rehensive with me, also, I’d say you should let your mother know too just in case.”

"Yeah I know, I just think that.... Crap" Frisk said. -"what, what happened?" -”Language over there!” - Papyrus added from the other side of the house.

“I think I left your phone by accident, Paps. It must’ve fell off my backpack while hurrying back to the car.” Frisk said, a little ashamed of the mistake.- “Well, that can’t be right! I need to stay connected in case of an emergency! I say we go for it tomorrow morning before dropping Frisk off at Toriel’s!” - Papyrus finally exclaimed.

“Wait, what?”- Sans said in confusion “Paps, you know I can teleport there and look for it, right?”- “Well yes, it’s true, but I don’t trust that you’ll stay awake enough to find it in the middle of the night without falling asleep, let alone on your own in the morning. We must rest properly tonight and then we’ll fetch it”.

“Oh! Maybe I can come with you guys? I mean, I need to start getting up early and I can do it if I come with you guys and help”- this was Frisk’s chance and both them and Sans just knew it, and before Sans could reply…

“Great idea, Frisk! It’s settled then, tomorrow morning we’ll go find my phone,the three of us. Hope that’s no trouble for you brother” Waking up early wasn’t Sans’ concern at that moment. -” *sigh* Sure Paps, no problem with that” Sans sighed while Frisk had a subtle cheeky look on their face. - (That flower really rubs at them sometimes, man…)

“Great! Now that it’s settled, let me bring you dinner now that it’s readyyy.” Papyrus said, while bringing three plates of hot spaghetti to the couch, as Sans and Frisk thanked him and all of them started watching MTT’S new nature show, Sans pondered on how to properly look after Frisk tomorrow morning, and Frisk was silently coming up with strategies to find the strange human on Mtt. Ebott.

The day After the Camp

Last night was something to say the least. After the thief incident, everyone decided to go rest anyway. Morning came and after packing all their stuff and camping gear, they went to Papyrus' car, parked near where they were camping, and headed down to Old, New Home, the new town where monsters where residing after the barrier broke.

"Damn it" muffled Undyne, still caressing the now patched up spot where she received the can juice hit by the thief.

"Does it perhaps still hurt, Undyne? I thought I had bandaged it up well last night" said Papyrus somehow not needing to keep his eyes on the road.

Undyne continued "No, it's not that, it doesn't even hurt anymore, I just can't believe I couldn't see a simple attack like that coming. Hell, not even noticing that weirdo in our camp if it wasn't for you and Frisk waking everyone up!"

"Yes, I understand what you mean, Undyne, but beating yourself down won't do anyone any favors! We can always learn from experiences like these and be prepared for them next time!" Papyrus exclaimed cheerfully not noticing the very no-nonsense face his fish friend made in that moment. "- Besides! If Frisk is anything to go by, I believe humans are extraordinarily skilled in fighting and running away, specially an older one".

"I- I mean it is true that humans are physically stronger than mons-ters, bu- but most now seem to be not- not...." Alphys interjected in the conversation as the two turned around to look at her, making her nervous. "- Um... modernally interested in fighting??"

" Yeah, I don't what happened to all the sword fights and the giant robots they had in those human documentaries! They became kinda lame. Pfft, no offense punk." Undyne added including Frisk in the conversation.

"None taken" the child finally responded, but their mind seemed to be in another place in that moment, still wondering why another human would live so far away from the city, or even the neighbour towns near Mtt. Ebott. They tried not to think too deeply about it, but as always, their curiosity would always get the best of them.

"The dude didn't seem chatty or dangerous, I'd say he was just scared." Sans added to the conversation" "T-tho, maybe that explain the burglar cases in town?" Alphys added to the conversatio, while Sans started checking his phone contacts.

"Burglar?" Frisk asked. "Y-yeah, um, some people have noticed either food cans, bags a-and even library books had gone missing for some time n-now. I recently went to Muffet's bakery but, um, she seemed very angry. I think some of her pastries have been taken during th- the night...." Alphys added. "Think it could be that weird guy, Al?" Said Undyne. "Um... I'm not uh en-entirely sur-sure." I've heard that there, uh, aren't an-any pictures or footage of them so... I'm not sure". Despite Alphys' nervous rambling, Frisk very attentive to the conversation now.

"Welp, I guess it could explain why he must've been there. I mean, a human SO far away from the city? AND close to the Monster's? I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it. Think we should confront the guy to know if that's our thief? What'd you guys say?"

Hearing all of that now just only made Frisk's curiosity itch more and Sans took noticed of it.

"Eh it might just be a coincidence for all we know, we don't have many clues on that yet." Sans finally added to the conversation, shutting down the idea "Besides, maybe he's just a regular nature guy, loving the fresh air, flowers and people not scaring the *sticks*out of 'im" "Well I supposed that's tr- whuSANS OH.MY.GOD" Sans joke didn't seemed to land well to his car companions, only getting a groan from his brother and Undyne, a poker face from Frisk and a displeased look from Alphys.

("Might not be a good idea to sneak out on your own either, kid") Sans whispered to Frisk's ear. ("I wasn't going to!").They knew each other to well.

("...At least not now") Sans smiled. Yep. Too well.

The Human Souls (FINAL PART)

Integrity

A meek and kind-hearted girl, yet despite the harsh life of town and ardous work she put into her dancing she stayed strong. To the very end. Until the day she had to hide away in a rainstorm in the night. Until she heard a voice calling for help. Until she slipped up and fell down.

When she recovered consciousness from the fall, Olivia saw another girl, just barely younger than her, glasses foggy from the tears and her leg scrapped from the fall. The dancer tended quickly to her wounds with a backup bandage wrap she had. Before properly introducing themselves to each other however, a worried goat-like woman had seen them.

Toriel couldn't bring herself to lose any more children, to let them go to the lion's mouth towards that man once more. So she tried to keep them close to her, warm, well-fed and safe even if it meant not leaving them alone for a single moment at home.

While the dancer thought she could convince the woman in anyway to go back home, and the glasses girl was more... assertive to her approach, their begging fell to deaf ears. So a plan was made. At night, they snuck out to search for an exit to the ruins; there wasn't any from outside, so their only option was inside the home, that's when they stumbled upon the the Exit of the Ruins, their way home and away from that woman, who just called out their names behind them.

Miss Toriel did tried her best, in tears, to explain to them the danger they would be in if they were to escape, that Asgore would kill them both without mercy. Even though Olivia tried one last time to reason, Miss Toriel lashed out to them telling them to go upstairs in that moment. Olivia felt obliged to obey, to not upset her anymore, but the glasses girl suddenly threw her shoe towards Miss Toriel, grabbed Olivia's hand and ran with her towards the door, as she could hear the desperate calls of the woman behind them, being muffled by the door closing.

Olivia couldn't believed what just had happen, still taken aback, but they had to stick together if they wanted to go back to the surface, no matter where they had to go through from that moment on from that snowy forest. Or so was the plan.

Only after they went through Waterfall, they were ambushed by a spear-wielding knight, who hunted them down through the waters and moist land. Olivia had already lost her shoes in the humid fields, and both humans were short of breath cornered.

"Four... that's all the souls we've collect over a century, to break the barrier, and with you two there'll be six. Surrender now and give up your souls, humans".

There was nothing else she could've done, the moment the spear was sent flying towards the glasses girl, it was like second nature, to protect those who needed it. And she felt the stinging, burning weapon go through her stomach as she jumped between the girl and the monster.

The last thing she saw before encountering darkness was the girl running towards the unmasked monster. The fifth had arrived, and one more was coming.

Perseverance

This was a nightmare, a horrible nightmare Janice couldn't escape from. She only got separated from her school trip group for amoment, and suddenly a storm came her way, making her hide in a cave, and falling down a hole. Then that goat witch took her and the other girl to her home, keeping them away from their homes and playing pretend as if they were her "children". It still sent shivers down her spine the way the monster howled as they finally found their way out.

And then the other girl, Olivia, she kept protecting her no matter who they encountered, even after it ended up killing her when she protected her from that Spear FREAK. She was so angry she only thought on getting back at her using the same spear, gouging her eye out and making a run for it. She couldn't let her friend's sacrifice go in bain.

And so she advanced through the rest of the underground, fleeing, fighting, and doing anything in her power to go to the end, until she went to the gray house of that woman, to the throne room, and meeting Him. Asgore. The king of monsters. She was weak. He killed her in just a swift movement. She thought that would've been the end. She thought.

She was back in the throne room once again, somehow. But now she knew how to avoid his next attack. Until the next fireball came. She was back. She needed to try again.

She got burned, she'd come back. She got impaled, she'd come back once more. She got tired out and stroke down, she'd come back again. And again and again and again and again until she couls strike him down and go back home, to her family, to her friends, to her life.

She had lost count to how many times she had died, until she got impaled by the tyrant again. She just had to try once more-

"Just stop"

It was Olivia's voice. She didn't know how but it really was her voice. It couldn't be she was-

"I've tried to go against him too, I was too weak. It's not your fault" the raspy voice of an older boy was heard.

"Most of us tried to escape before, I didn't go so far neither" the light, tired tone of a younger kid pierced hear ears

"Even if we didn't try to attack, they still took our souls, this is our fate" the kind yet cold words of an even older guy stuck her head.

They were all driving her mad.

"I know it's not what you wanted to hear..." a soft, almost whispery voice aproached her, holding her hand gently "but letting go is for the best for all of us, please".

She didn't want to, she couldn't. But she was so tired, so beaten up and just...done. she got pulled by their voices to give in, and into the darkness. But she could still feel.

Their anger, their sadness, their guilt, their grief over a life they wouldn't get to have anymore. She couldn't bear it, she couldn't accept it. She wouldn't. Even though she was the sixth, the last of them to arrived, her rage was just as strong as the others. And she wouldn't forgive any of them.

Monsters

They could all burn in hell for all she cared.

The Human Souls (PART 2)

Bravery

The youngest of them all, a bright boy by the name of Zach, who only wanted adventure in his life, fell by accident to the Underground while exploring the place. He was encountered by Toriel in the Ruins as he was trying to fight everything and everyone to find a way out. A third had fallen.

The boy reluctantly let himself be taken care of by Toriel, who decided she was gonna do her very best to keep this child safe, and to not let any more humans die in here.

But as days passed, the boy grew inpatient, he did like Toriel, don't get him wrong, however, he was growing tired of her pampering, wanting to see what more the Underground could offer him, and maybe a way to find his way to the surface. So one night, after making sure the goat woman was asleep, he look through her home until getting to the basement of the home, and stand tall against the gigantic door: The exit of the Ruins, the door to the Underground.

Passing that door, he thought bravery alone could push him towards freedom, fighting each monster he encountered just like back in the Ruins, but he got cocky, and encountered a monster that wouldn't back down as easily, and ended up meeting his fate, fighting to the end without getting far from the limit of Snowin Town.

When he woke up, others like him were beside him. He could no longer be with his family or back home, but at least he was not alone.

Justice

Once the rumors of humans going missing on Mt. Ebott had started so many years ago, a young boy, with delusions of grandure but with a noble heart, decided he would go down to solve the mystery behind the ominous place.

He didn't believe in the tales of monster kind, so to say he was surprised as he saw a goat woman seated at a bed of golden flowers while praying was... an understatement. And so was she.

Even after the last human escaped that night Toriel wanted to go keep humans safe peacefully. But Clay had other plans, and once he questioned Toriel about the other humans and gave in, speaking of the King's actions, his resolved grew to bring justice to the King, and avange the fallen. Toriel begged for him to stay, that this was not the job for a boy to be involved in, but he didn't listen and with a firm foot he stepped outside of the Ruins, feeling simpathy to the woman warning him.

Whether it was the piercing cold, the heavy humidity or the soffocating heat, he was able to get to him, the King of Monster. Asgore.

He asked why he took the life of innocent children, why he launched a war against all of humanity, why he still couldn't fight back or even face him right there and then. The king only apologized as he charged the next attack towards the boy, and everything went black.

No questions were answered, and as the fourth was collected alongside the others, he could only feel rage for his lack of strength, and animosity towards the monster who unfairly killed 3 children.

HOLLOW HEART HUMANS FINAL DESIGN

First Draft of the creatures (design-wise)

I said on the first post that this AU would focus on the human Souls, in a way. In the story after the pacifist run Charlie encounters the human souls, unwilling to go down Mt. Ebott due to fear of the Humans and Monsters right after the barrier opened. More of that here:

"Once the barrier was broken, Charlie awoke alongside it due to the human and monster’s power united.

When he fully recovered consciousness, he had no recollection of who he was, no name, no memories, nothing to go by. As he was exploring the forest of MT. Ebott, he stumbled upon some the monsters climbing down the mountain.

That’s when he saw Frisk and Toriel, climbing down, he watched in awe as the human child and monster continue their path.

Even though he was curious to know who they were and wanted to asked, he was wary, and hid behind the bushes and trees of the forest.

As he followed them to the town, he was amazed to see the infrastructure of the city, and their habitants.

Wary humans, some stared in awe, others ran, but a lot of them started interacting with the monsters that came.

Monster kind, from the weirdest to the most splendid, they were happily bathing in the sunlight and taking in all that crossed their path.

As a lanky skeleton made his way to salute every human he encountered, Charlie was looking deeply to the unknown and bizarre scenario.

That is, until one of the smallest monsters, a turtle like monster that had a small fish tank on his back said hi to him, he approached it nervously, but the overwhelming screams of joy and worry made him run away in fear, to the notice of a curious Frisk, who didn’t pay much attention to him.

Frisk didn’t further notice his presence, but Charlie was looking deeply at Frisk, until they left.

As they went back, he decided to look into the cavern the monsters came from, until he got to the door of the ruins, in which he decided to stay in one of the monsters’ homes that got left out for the night.

The following days, it was the same thing for Charlie, silently watching Monsters slowly moving to the big city of humans, until it grew in numbers, and to their new home, The city of monster “Old, new Home”

But even with his growing curiosity and eagerness to interact with the monsters and humans, he kept to himself, only watching from afar, as if it was all a show to him. This made him feel lonely for a long time.

But one day, he was able to interact with someone.

Even though monsters and humans lived in the city, there were people on the mountain who lived roaming around it, people that Charlie took notice of.

These were the human souls, who, even after the barrier broke, were still unable to move on, lonely, hopeful, and sad of their circumstances.

Once Charlie noticed their presence, accompanied the children, wary of him, but with no other choice than to listen to him, as none other were able to listen, or see them.

As day passed, Charlie and the souls created a special bond, one in which the children would be listened to, after so long from time to time, and Charlie would finally satiate his curiosity, listening to the stories of their lives, and how they got to the underground.

In their discussions, they would ask about him, and with no recollection of who he was, he was unable to answer. For the longest time, he didn’t take notice of this, but this doubt slowly built up inside him.

Who was he? Why didn’t he remember anything from before he woke up? Why was he so afraid of the presence of monsters and humans? Where did he come from?

Before he got to answer to any of this, it was then that he properly met Frisk and the others, who were the key to all his questions, and maybe, even some they didn't knew they would have.
